We Will Rock You
Hello, I recently had my edit replacing the phrase 'the song has become a staple at sporting events' to 'the song has become a cliche at sporting events' removed. I'm am willing to assert that use of the song HAS become a cliche, and moved beyond being a 'staple'. It's use at sporting events has become a) utterly predictable, and b) overused to the point where it no longer serves it's intended function, ie to fire up the crowd and get them clappin' and thigh slappin'. How does something become a cliche? By predictable overuse, and the use of We Will Rock You has certainly achieved this. I will not edit the article again - it will be a waste of everybody's time', but I don't see why the use of the more genteel 'staple' has more validity than the - thoroughly accurate - 'cliche'. And thank you for taking the time to explain why the edit was reverted back.203.220.212.117 (talk) 15:42, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- First, your change was not supported by a citation to a source talking about the sporting event usage as being cliché. Second, writings such as this contradict your conclusion, though there are certainly other writers who agree.
- If the playing of the song was not enjoyed by the sports fans, then it would not be played so much by the production staff at games. Is it possible for something to be cliché and well-received at the same time? From the various writings about the song and its persistence in sports I would say it's not a foregone conclusion that the song played at sports games is cliché. Coldplay & other music related articles
I have noticed a regular editing patten within the Coldplay related articles by you and the Kent IP addresses. It is very good how you manage to spot the sock puppetry edits that these IP addresses have made. Iggy (Swan) 18:48, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the support, Swan. I track a bunch of problem editors in my own namespace. In this case the page is User:Binksternet/Kent IPs. Binksternet (talk) 19:24, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
Evermore (Beauty and the Beast song)#Josh Groban version
I already explained Musicnotes.com is reliable for the music arrangement related details, not for genres. (See Misplaced Pages:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_56#Musicnotes.com) but a non-admin user reverted it back and asked "says who?" 115.164.181.250 (talk) 11:02, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I have reverted and tweaked the article. Binksternet (talk) 20:30, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Bon Jovi album articles
So, this guy.. Not sure if it's the Kent IP, but is there anything that we can do other than hit rollback every time? He's been making the same edits at the same articles for many months, always overlinking "Canada"; confusingly removing Jon's name from all instances of "Jon Bon Jovi"; and inserting a pointless "the" in Little Mountain Sound Studios. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 17:08, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- That is certainly the Kent LTA at work. I think we need another rangeblock. Binksternet (talk) 17:32, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

This is another Kent IP which has been evading a block from 86.164.191.216, I have noticed that from Coldplay related articles again. I have managed to spot them possibly because you haven't been logged in yet - and the IP geolocate helped me deduce they are from the same place. Iggy (Swan) 10:55, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

Re: Westlife
Kindly just edit the copyrighted ones and not delete the whole thing. I put reference links to most of it. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Myxxd (talk • contribs)
- The problems go deeper than that. How about the extensive, unreferenced list of collaborating artists? How about the huge image size you prefer? How about the puffery in the wording? Binksternet (talk) 05:19, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Myxxd: adding vast amounts of unsourced material, especially when they include large numbers of links to WP:DAB pages, is WP:DISRUPTive. No editor will have the patience to go through a 30k edit trying to fix the WP:INTDAB errors it introduced. Narky Blert (talk) 19:38, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
Kindly specifically point out the unsourced contents. I can see so many citations needed on the current Westlife page compared to the one I edited, I put out reference links, it just need to be polished. Thank you
About the List of songs recorded and performed by Westlife, I aim for it to look like List of songs recorded by Steps or List of songs recorded by One Direction. About Stay With Me (Ironik song) released in 2008, it sampled Westlife's song Written in the Stars published in 2002. About the List of best-selling albums in the Philippines, have you seen the table below, it has reference to it.
- You are using poor English, unreliable sources, and you are biased in favor of the band so much so that your writing is affected with puffery and promotion. I think you should practice in your sandbox. Binksternet (talk) 17:42, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Then edit the poor English, as long as it has authentic sites as references I believe it should not be deleted. Biased? I am just stating facts with reference. I am not grossly hooked with Misplaced Pages to have sandbox, stars, awards and stuff. I am just here to add information with the reliable sources and then somebody could help to improve the articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Myxxd (talk • contribs)
- No, you are creating a problem, and I am here to stop the problem from developing further. Binksternet (talk) 17:50, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
I went to your page and you're an American from California and are totally clueless with the band. Just collaborate with an Irish or British if you wish to check the reference links and verify its data reliability. Just remember Misplaced Pages's purpose, a 💕.
- Free, but not an indiscriminate collection of information. Binksternet (talk) 18:12, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
If I am biased with the group, I will delete the critic's names, the news of them not breaking in to America, and will put information with no reference links. But did I do that?
Problem? Am I life-threatening to you? Yeah right talking about being indiscriminate.
Reliable sources
I need help with reliable sources and adding of citation needed for claims. Thank you.

Everybody Hurts
Have you seen the music videos? There are differences on editing and shots. https://vimeo.com/28130829 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt7350062/
You know what I am just here to add information. Please just help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Myxxd (talk • contribs)
- You misunderstand Misplaced Pages's purpose. It's not here for you to document the things you notice. It's here to summarize all the things that have been published about a topic. So if you want to expand the information in an article, you should be reading WP:Reliable sources and summarizing them. Binksternet (talk) 05:09, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
They were professional and official music videos uploaded in Youtube. I heard one was the Director's Cut. If it's a different music artist and more well-known, no one will delete it as long as it has the reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Myxxd (talk • contribs)
- A video is not a reference for your analysis of editing and shots. You need to find a WP:SECONDARY source talking about the difference. Binksternet (talk) 17:49, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Prostitutes in South Korea for the U.S. military
chinese women :
Some of these workers face conditions indicative of forced labor. Foreign women on E6-2 entertainment visas—mostly from the Philippines, China, and Kyrgyzstan—are subjected to forced prostitution in entertainment establishments near ports and U.S. military bases.

one million :
How an average of less than 20,000 women are in the shape of a million people for decades?
The official statistics do not exist. Realistically, it is an insane figure. Shall be demonstrated from your basis for the claim is the author of the book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfdjveradf2234 (talk • contribs) 13:36, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- Professor Donna M. Hughes wrote in 2007: "Over the past six decades, U.S. troops have used an estimated 1 million Korean women in prostitution." It's cited in the article. Binksternet (talk) 14:43, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
Donna M. Hughes : Some of the statistics are based on unsound assumptions.
- Misplaced Pages doesn't work like that. If Donna M. Hughes published a conclusion, then that conclusion is part of the topic. You cannot simply wish it away. Binksternet (talk) 15:48, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
If so, shall be recorded that claims so unilaterally. There is a different opinion that we can not do with common sense

this part ok??
Clavinet on "The Logical Song"
I think you may have reverted my edit by mistake. There is in fact a clavinet on "The Logical Song" - I think you may have misread the text in the source - but the original part was retracked and this time, Rick Davies used a wah-wah pedal. 60.240.8.249 (talk) 02:41, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
Persistent block evader
Hi Binksternet. It looks like the warning you posted on that anonymous IP's talk page hasn't been heeded. I've reverted some further edits which follow the same pattern of changing musical genres without explanation, but it looks like this might be worth keeping an eye on. Regards, ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 22:33, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I am definitely keeping an eye on this persistent block evader! You can see my case history page here. Binksternet (talk) 01:32, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Lead guitar
Eddy Grant was indeed the lead guitarist for The Equals while Patrick Lloyd was the rhythm guitarist, so lead guitarist is a defining characteristic of him. 60.240.8.249 (talk) 02:02, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

I was just trying to differentiate between the two guitars for both Avenged Sevenfold and Cannibal Corpse, Synyster Gates is definitely lead guitar for a7x, as for Cannibal Corpse, yes both guitarists occasionally do alternate, but Pat O'Brien plays lead a majority of time thanks.--47.18.61.176 (talk) 03:45, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Mike DeNicola--47.18.61.176 (talk) 03:45, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
Excuse you?
The comfort women page is not your personal playground, Dude. YOU reverted something that I did not add, but did judge to be properly cited, like it or not. Jusenkyoguide (talk) 10:08, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- There's a history of Japanese nationalist editors who add a single primary document from the US Army to the article in order to diminish the comfort women story. This one primary document is dismissed as unreliable by many historians. In any case, Misplaced Pages is built on WP:SECONDARY sources, not primary ones. My contributions to the articles
Thanks for telling me that. All I post is with citation so in most of my editings I post links to it. You can check it out. I'm not a vandalist. In the article ...But Seriously I posted the wiki-links British Male Artist and British Single instead of the unlinked words but it was rechanged who knows why. My changes were true and not vandalism.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.20.171.32 (talk) 03:31, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Revert on Rico Love
On Rico Love you reverted my disambiguation of Danja to Danja (record producer) with an edit summary of "Rv... Block evasion by User:MusicLover650.". I do not understand this I am not and have never heard of User:MusicLover650.— Rod 07:22, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- I reverted past your edit to remove the stuff added from the person before you. That person added Danja, which is why I removed not only Danja but also your disambiguation effort. As far as I can see, Danja and Rico Love don't have enough sigificant artistic interconnectivity. Danja produced the Rico Love songs "Days Go By" and "Bitches Be Like". Producers are not normally listed in the "associated acts" field. You can read about what goes in that parameter at Template:Infobox musical artist#associated_acts. Thanks trivia etc re that Titanic/Lincoln LTA
Re your revision at Assassination of Abraham Lincoln: Thank you for keeping an eye on that article - much appreciated. And it's interesting to me...that statement by the eyewitness (David Dorn) would seem to somewhat be in error. These are the issues:
- so far as I can tell there was no curtain at the back of the Presidential Box at Ford's
- unless Mr. Dorn was seated on the other side of the Dress Circle, it would be virtually impossible for him to look squarely into Booth's face. He was not seated across from the Box - Dorn was seated somewhere in the orchestra.
- Dorn says "I think Mr. Lincoln, Mrs. Lincoln, Major Rathbone, Tad Lincoln and possibly another man and woman were in the box". Tad was most definitely not there, he was watching a production of Aladdin at another theater.
- The photo of Dorn that is included in that newspaper account of unknown date is not contemporaneous to the Civil War. It shows a middle-aged/elderly man so the statements were not contemporaneous to the events - probably at least ten years later and maybe even 20 or 30, so Mr. Dorn's statements should probably be considered as being somewhat unreliable.
Heh well, that's all. Shearonink (talk) 18:06, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. Our LTA friend seems to throw stuff against the wall to see what sticks. Binksternet (talk) 20:17, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
Switched-On Bach and electronic rock
I didn't add Switched-On Bach to {{Electronic rock}} and don't have an opinion about its inclusion or your revert of my edit, but here's a friendly reminder to complete the task and remove the link from the navbox as well, to preserve the bidirectionality of the navbox. Thanks, and happy editing! Ibadibam (talk) 01:16, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- If you're keen on bidirectionality, you might want to add to your armamentarium the question of whether the first link deserves to be in its place, before you add the second link. Binksternet (talk) 01:20, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- The thought crossed my mind, but as I said, I'm not prepared to render an opinion as to the suitability of its inclusion.
