Plot

Ravi (Bimal Jayakody) urges his son Awantha (Keshan Shashindra) to break a school record in the school's cricket match on the way to winning the match. Samalka (Shanudrie Priyasad) is late for the cricket match which makes her boyfriend, Awantha, furious. While playing cricket, Anuhas (Raween Kanishka) bumps into Samalka and they fall in love. As revenge, Awantha and his friends beat up Anuhas. After the police intervenes, the problem is resolved. Post the incident, Ravi taunts Anuhas repeatedly. In a fit of rage, Anuhas goes home and confronts his mother, Udeni (Himali Sayurangi), how she met Ravi, her former lover/ex-boyfriend, and Anuhas' father. She tells the story to Anuhas in front of Dewmi (Nayanathara Wickramarachch), her niece.

Past

Ravi starts to talk with Udeni, who eventually falls in love with Ravi. During their relationship, Udeni becomes pregnant. However, Ravi is chosen for The National Cricket Team. Ravi's father Rex Kodippili requests Udeni to abort the child, to which Udeni refuses, so she has to leave Ravi. A year later, Ravi marries Amisha.

At the age of twelve, Udeni goes to the school with Anuhas to try out for the cricket team. Coach sir is delighted to see Udeni and Anuhas, but when talk comes of his father, Amisha comes in swoops and takes it from them claiming that Anuhas' father cannot be Ravi because then who is Awantha and who is she? She also indirectly tells Anuhas to not to compete with Awantha as Anuhas is considered “low down”.Saddened by what she says, Anuhas tells Udeni that he wants to go home, he doesn't want to play cricket anymore.

Present

Awantha always causes trouble and abuses Samalka, hence Samalka dislikes Awantha. One day, her motorbike breaks down, so Anuhas, who works for his Uncle Ananda's Garage, fixes the bike. Awantha picks up a fight with him for talking with Samalka. Despite all this, Anuhas and Samalka develop a good bond as friends. Dewmi has a crush on Anuhas as well. Ravi and Amisha's only intentions are to help Awantha make The National Team and make him marry Samalka as they know how wealthy Samalka is. Meanwhile, Amisha visits Udeni's Juice Bar to insult Udeni and Anuhas. Ananda gets furious at all these acts and argues with Ravi.

Awantha's friend, Danisha, gets beaten up by his girlfriend's brother, which is prevented by Anuhas. So Danisha leaves Awantha and befriends Anuhas. The culprits were instigated against Anuhas by Awantha so they beat Anuhas leading to be hospitalised. Samalka comes and visits Anuhas and is seen by Udeni and Ananda. Anuhas learns the truth about Samalka through her diary. Anuhas the only one to know Samalka's story: her father died and her mother is in the mental hospital.

Dewmi feels insecure when Samalka and Anuhas are together. Ananda and his wife get to know about the affair between Dhanuka (their son) and Malki (a school girl) which they allow. Samalka's birthday arrives and Anuhas plans for a surprise party which Dewmi refuses to attend. Anuhas gifts Samalka a dress and they play with cake and sing songs. Dewmi tries her very best not to let Anuhas enjoy the party.

Although Udeni is reluctant, Ananda sends Anuhas to the school Cricket Team with the help of the coach. A new class teacher, Sonali is appointed. Ravi plans to chase the coach and give that position to one of his men. With the Minister's help he transfers the coach to another school and appoints Lionel Sandun, a moron as the new coach and he makes Anuhas hate cricket. Anuhas tries his best to be patient with Coach but fails.

A concert is held in school and the two contestants are Samalka and Dewmi. Awantha bribes a judge to let Samalka win. Samalka gets a han of this and she gives her victory to Dewmi. Dewmi fights with her family and finally, they compromise. Ravi and Amisha get to know that Anuhas is spending for Samalka, not Awantha, so they inform Udeni and Ananda. Udeni interrogates Anuhas and Anuhas spits out the truth but Udeni doesn't scold him.

Awantha slowly starts liking Dewmi. Awantha gets low marks but Anuhas manages to get high marks. Dewmi starts to hate and taunt Samalka. A friendly match is organised between Coach Ekanayake school and Lionel's school team, in which Anuhas is rejected. Ravi and Udeni spend some quality time each other. A new girl called Lihini comes to the school. Lionel's team doesn't play the match with Anuhas and they eventually lose hence rebuked by the principal. Anuhas's bat was broken by Awantha. Samalka helps Anuhas to buy a bat but Anuhas refuses out of love. Ravi and Awantha as well as Ananda and Anuhas come to the same place to buy a bat. Amisha makes Udani's juice bar close so they won't have any income making Anuhas has to earn for his mother. Lihini helps Samalka sorting out her finances.

Awantha starts flirting with Dewmi. Coach Ekanayake returns to school. Awantha is disgraced by going to a nightclub in Australia. Anuhas organises a car wash event to help Samalka financially to buy a Motor Bike. Then Awantha comes and wrecks the event which almost lead to a fight but Dewmi interferes and beseeches Awantha and begs him to sit and wait until his car is being washed.

After a while Anuhas's uncle Ananda visits the car wash event. Ananda catches a cold and almost gets beaten up by Dewmi for covering himself up in a yellow robe like a thief. Mihiri gets to know that the car wash was held for Samalka and mocks her in front of Lihini but Samalka rejects her taunts thinking it is because of pure jealousy.

Later when Dewmi was coming from class she sees Awantha in a three-wheeler bleeding everywhere, she goes after him and takes him to the hospital. Dewmi then tries to leave the hospital but the nurse tells her she has to escort him and the police come up to her asking what had happen to him, Dewmi lies saying he was in a car wreck. He was actually in a gang fight. Dewmi has to give the police her address and number so the police come to her house the next morning and she gets in A LOT of trouble from her dad, Ananda. They went to the police station and came back home, Dewmi tries to go upstairs but her dad stops her and slaps her in the face saying what a stupid thing she had done. Dewmi and her aunt go upstairs crying. Meanwhile Samalka has left the area because she claims not to fit along. Samalka returns and both the schools go on the trip to different places.

During the trip, Ekanayake sir arranges for the boy's school cricket team to have a one- day game with boys from a school in India, so that the boys can understand how international games and players are on the field. The teachers also discuss the prospect of a new captain, as Awantha has been given a punishment for breaking Anuhas' bat, gloves and pads.Much to the dismay of Lionel Sandun, Anuhas is chosen by Ekanayake sir and Principal sir. Angry at the decision, Mr Sandun goes and tells Awantha, Sheran and Daneesha.

In the morning when preparing to leave for the match, the bus driver notices that all of the wheels on the bus have flat tires, leaving them stranded and unable to find help quickly to get to the match. In later episodes, we find out that Awantha, Sheran and Daneesha had blown out the tires and Awantha paid the bus driver to keep it quiet. Eventually words spread and Sheran and Daneesha have been suspened from playing for 2 weeks or months and Awantha is has been given a notice that he will be expelled from school. Angrily hearing this Ravi tries tirelessly to get the punishment sent down and eventually gets blown off every time, this gets to Principal sir and he becomes angry at the way Ravi talks to him. Samalka and Anuhas takes her mother to a neurologist. Love is in air between Dewmi and Awantha and Dewmi's behaviour creates some sort of suspicion among the family as well and problems arise as they fight.

Meanwhile , Dewmi wants to make Awantha a good boy and hence requests the tution teacher to advise him and he goes home and advises. Due to the problems occurred in Amisha's family life , she suspects that a paranormal activity was carried out by Udeni and she hires a fake Guru , given by her cunning friend Niluka whose husband Menaka is always looking forward to increase his bank account. Ravi gets the opportunity to go abroad and be a coach in an Australian Cricket Club for a higher salary. Anuhas saves Ravi when some people beat him down in a road due to a debt being unable to repay by Ravi and after a few days in hospital , Ravi goes abroad sending a letter to Udeni apologizing for the mistakes and realizing the love towards Udeni and Anuhas. The Madam asks Dewmi about Awantha. She behaves weirdly towards her friends as well and Anuhas caught her red handed and scolds but she outspeaks him emotionally. Lihini also now reduced her timidness. Mike and Chubby constantly flirts Malika. Malki now loves another boy called Heshan as Dhanuka ignores because she is doing a job. Unfortunately , Ravi , (Bimal Jayakody) dies from a cardiac arrest in Australia.
