Thanks

Thanks Bakman. Yes, I did see what happened to my message. Frankly I have no time to waste with editors like that. I would rather spend my time in WP more usefully writing good articles and improving them to FAC status. - Parthi 03:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Muchas gracias

Hey Bakasuprman, thanks a lot for supporting me in my recent RfA. It succeeded, and I am very grateful to all of you. If you ever need help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, feel free point out any mistakes I make! Thanks again, —Khoikhoi 04:34, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Sangam article

I tried rewriting this article last march to remove the more ridiculous of its claims. As you can see in the Talk:Sangam page my efforts were thwarted by User:Mel Etitis who kept reverting it claiming I needed to provide citations to show that it didn't start 15000 years ago! I gave up. - Parthi 05:08, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

I noticed you comment on Ragib's talk page abt Rajshahi University. Your idea seems a really good one.--ppm 05:15, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Happy Diwali

Happy Diwali!!!
Known as the "Festival of Lights" in India, Diwali symbolises the victory of good over evil. It represents celebration of hope and life, and is an occasion to strengthen relationships. This year, it is celebrated on December 27, 2024. I take this as an occasion to wish you the best in the days to come. May this Diwali invigorate you, bringing you more happiness and content. Happy Diwali!!!

I need your input in Talk:Indian caste system there as several users are ganging up against me, including a rather virulent hatemonger User:Tequendamia who should have been indefblocked long ago.Hkelkar 21:06, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Happy Diwali

Namaste Bakaman. I just wanted to wish you a happy Diwali. It's nice working with you on here on Misplaced Pages. Thanks again for your positive comments and encouragement. Anupam 00:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: Something bothersome

Yeah, probably you are right. I should stop bothering about these lists. But, I'm gonna clean-up a lot of caste-POVed articles. While working on these caste categories, I came across horribly-POV articles. May be nobody looks at these articles (except people of those castes). I am neither Brahmin, nor Dalit (or for that matter Kshatriya or Vaisya), but my concern is that Misplaced Pages should not become a tool for glorifying castes. I will stop bothering about those lists now, though. utcursch | talk 02:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Please accept my thanks for your support in my successful RfA, which I was gratified to learn passed without opposition on October 25, 2006. I am looking forward to serving as an administrator and hope that I prove worthy of your trust. With my best wishes, --MCB 17:15, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Sockpuppet

User:129.112.109.250 may be a sockpuppet for user:kennethtennyson, both have the same views about India, and a habit of following me around on wikipedia. Best watch out for the sockpuppet and it's anti-India stance in articles like Hindutva etc. I Informed you because I noticed you were editors in some of those articles as well. Abt Bhutan

Hi! Thanks for the response on Bhutanese refugees.

  • My point there was not about hatred. In South Asia people generally do not hate people. Nepalese and Bhutanese are very fine with each other which is clear from the fact the despite the persecution from Bhutanese Government, there have been no ethnic clashes. However, the governments and some notorious people manipulate facts to create rift among people. The same happened in Bhutan where the ruling portion of the Bhutanese population forced the ethnic Nepalese population to exile.
  • About Bhutan Government sanctioning Hindu festivals, Bhutan has a sizable population of Neplaese Hindus (some put it as high as 35%) plus the nation is heavily influenced by India. So, it is a duty for Bhutan to do so if it ever does so. Besides, people celebrate Eid in India but still one can not forget Gujarat massacare. The Government recognizes Dashami in Banagaladesh but still Hindus are in fringes there.
  • About whether the Druks are only against people Nepalese origin, well it might not be the case. The only Hindus in Bhutan are those of Nepalese origin. Besides, Nepal during that time was the only Hindu nation and persecution due to Nepalese identity was no different from that of Hindu identity. The only reason for these people's exile is that they are not Druks. Thats as similar to non-Muslims in Pakistan and yet people see so much difference between the two. Besides, the execution of Kashmiri Hindus by Muslims is also due to hatred against primarily Kashmaris yet its Hindu cleansing. The cover-up operation might be the hatred against people of Nepalese origin but the result is certainly the displacement and torture of Hindus because of their identity.--Eukesh 03:45, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
  • No need to thank me, sir. I just presented what the respected international bodies came to find about our part of the world. In fact, I need to thank you for the interest that you showed in my posts.--Eukesh 16:05, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Discussion on caste

Your input would be aoppreciated on whether lists or cats should be used for caste lists on the Indian Noticeboard. Bakaman Bakatalk 01:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

I will try to give my inputs. Thanks for informing me. --Bhadani 10:48, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I looked at the discussion on lists vs. cats. i dont think i would be able to give much input to the discussion. Personally, i am against categories but lists would be fine as long as they are referenced.--nids(♂) 11:51, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Bakaman, I too wont be able to give much input on the above discussion, but in general, my take is that if there can be sufficient number of articles about each topic, create them and put them in a category. If there is not sufficient matter for separate articles, create a list -- Lost 17:58, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Edits like this where you make a revert without any edit summary and marking it "minor" could be very easily taken as vandalism. BhaiSaab 19:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
