PAE Panathinaikos AO (Greek, Παναθηναϊκός Αθλητικός Όμιλος - Panathinaikos Athlitikos Omilos), or PAO, is the football team of Panathinaikos, the Athens based Greeksport club. Founded in 1908 the football team is the oldest of all the club’s sports sections. They play in the Super League Greece and play their home games at the Olympic Stadium - Spiros Louis. Panathinaikos is one of the most successful Greek football clubs of all time, winning 19 league titles. In 1971 they were European Cup finalists, losing 2-0 to Ajax at Wembley Stadium. They remain the only Greek club that has reached a European final.Panathinaikos is also the greek team with the most important achievements in the european fields, something which justifies its global fame.
