There will be an Ontario Liberal Party leadership election as a result of the resignation of Kathleen Wynne as Liberal leader on June 7, 2018, following the Liberal party's defeat in the 2018 general election which saw it return only 7 MPPs and lose official party status.
Possible contenders include the 6 remaining members of the Liberal caucus, other than Kathleen Wynne:
- Michael Coteau (Don Valley East)
- Nathalie Des Rosiers (Ottawa—Vanier)
- Mitzie Hunter (Scarborough—Guildwood)
- John Fraser (Ottawa South)
- Michael Gravelle (Thunder Bay—Superior North)
- Marie-France Lalonde (Orléans)
