Being followed around aka Help?Hello, DaGizza, I have a small problem. Usually, I'm known as User:Plumcouch, but I created this account in order to be able to inform an admin. I wrote this on User:Yamla's discussion page:
Could you have a word with User:King Dracula, please? Best regards, --Yellowchair 12:38, 2 September 2006 (UTC) regarding Hindi Wiki
Category:Hindu politiciansUp for deletion review. There is a cat for Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, anglican etc. politicians so I don't see why there isn't a Hindu cat. I wanted to bring to your attention the edits by a particular user, Sarvagnya. This particular user is roaming over the entire wikipedia and removing all references to Hindi wherever possible. In the discussion pages he spits venom all the times. At least see the articles, histories and discussion pages of the following articles:

The problem with so called "neutral" non-Indian admins who are interested in Indian topics is that they are afflicted by what you can term "Saffron blur", seeing Hindutvadis everywhere. Rather than objectively respond to ciritcism Witzel-worshipping admins like Zora go on whining Hindutva. They view Hindutva as some sort of a monolithic and influential group. Their high handedness and apparent agenda in dealing with editorial disputes has certainly alienated me. Neeways, i'm off... wont have time for wikipedia tis year since i'll be taking A Levels, blogging takes most of my spare time. Maybe i'll return next year when i'm at uni... Women in India(also on article talk page) (Please reply on discussion talk page) I believe that you have acted unfairly and un-wikipedia in continuously reverting the additions of Guru Nanak's influence on the rights of women in this area - these are valid and well known facts that have been recorded in the history of the region. You are trying to maintain your narrow view-point and this action is in breach of WP:NPOV. How do you justify your stand regarding this unfair action? Guru Nanak's contributions are well known and very relevant not only to this region but to the whole issue of women's rights worldwide. I ask you to reconsider this with an open mind and check the history and the quotations. Can you tell me why you have been reverting these changes? What WP rules are you following? You say that this is preaching Sikhism – this has no relevance to the issue in hand. Just because Guru Nanak Dev was Sikh, does not mean that his contribution cannot be entered here. His talked about women rights and the other un-justices against women in the area – So that makes this very relevant. The contributions are very important as they talk against Sati, purdah, etc and gives equal rights to women, when their rights were being abused worldwide – Are these things significant to you and the article? I do not want to engage in an edit-war and I ask you to re-evaluate your stand on this issue. I await your reply. Many thanks. --17:11, 21 September 2006 (UTC) Sat Sri Akal, Gizza, I am happy that you accept that the section I add is worthy of consideration. I will try and deal with all the point that you make under separate headings: Ancient Indian History: I did not touch on ancient Indian history in this connection as I did not have this knowledge – the main section of my addition started with this: "Guru Nanak was born in northern India in 1469. Having witnessed the appalling situation created by the Islamic invaders from the 1200 AD and especially the Mughal invaders from about 1526 AD , he began his mission to re-focus the minds of the people to perform righteous deeds, remember God and tread on a spiritual path" So basically the history started from about 1200 AD and I did not cover previous period. I think that this period does need to be covered but I will leave that to someone else to do or I may do it myself at a later date. If you have knowledge of this history then you should also add this to the article. "More needs to be added – not removed" Just because I have inserted 3 large sections on the Sikh Guru's contribution to the rights of women, it does not mean that you should remove them just because other have not added these other sections. You should add the other history or ask for others to add it to the article. You cannot wait to add all these things together – it will never happen – we need to make a start now. When I have added this section, someone will come along and "balance" the article by adding the previous and recent history – that's how most article grow! You say: "Having three big paragraphs on just Guru Nanak in the Reforms and Equal right section is too much in my opinion" Don't you think that this reform was important to the present history of India. I believe that due to Guru Nanak's contribution, the attitude of Indian men changed – Study and observe the history of the treatment of women in India since about 1500. The Guru spoke vigorously against discrimination against women – When women came to see the Gurus with purdah, the Gurus refused to see them – many passages in the SGGS refer to the wrongs of purdah, sati; of discrimination; dowry; etc. If you think that the claim that "Guru Nanak was probably the first religious leader in the world whose message is recorded in writing to have granted women equal status with man in all aspects of life" is wrong all you need to do is find someone who said something this before 1500 and then change this statement. I have given the proof from the SGGS, you need to do the same and find this proof and the line can then be amended. Have a look at Women's_rights#Notable_women.E2.80.99s_rights_activists and you will see that the entry for Guru Nanak is at the top. If you find others then just change this line or add your line before this one. "Complete respect for other but message has to be clear" I do respect all faiths but I do not support all the actions of the followers. A Muslim women is free to practice purdah and it is a Sikhs duty to protect this right just like Guru Tegh Bahadar gave his life to protect the Kashmiri Pandits. But that does not mean that a Sikh can preach or even support this practise within Sikhism. Further, as a Sikh, I am required to say that I do not accept the practise of Purdah and that it is a ritual which is not acceptable to a Sikhism. However, as Sikhs we will not force or even preach this view to the other faiths but we can inform them, if asked that, as Sikhs we are against this practise. If this practice is written within the text of their religion, then we are barred from criticising it as the SGGS say "Do not say that the Vedas & Katabas (Bible, Torah, Koran, etc) are false, those who do not contemplate them are false." (SGGS page 1350) "Pro-women Hinduism" I do not understand why you have not added these sections to this article or at least to the Women in Hinduism article – This does not explain the pro-women stand in any detail. This article is incoherent and there is no explanation why Hinduism appears to support things like sati, purdah, dowry, etc and as you say at some stage of history, Hinduism was a pro-women religion. When did it change and why? You need to research this. Are Hindu women treated equally now? All this needs to be dealt with. "Arrangement of Article" As the article grows and exceeds 32k, the separate sections will then have to be allocated independent pages with just a summary on this page and a link to the new independent page. In this manner we can build a comprehensive resource of all the important issues and view that are connected with this subject matter.
I think you need to get the guys on the Hinduism portal to get on their bikes and get these articles sorted out. I would recommend that you support the Sikhism articles as they show how the Asian continent has produced these marvellous thinkers. Guru Nanak is an Indian first and then a Sikh, and all that I have said can be verified and is historical fact which is available from multiple sources on the net. I have reverted the article to my original change and I propose to write more on the other points that you have raised as soon as I have learnt a bit more about the ancient history. I have paper copies of Srimad Bhagavatam (13 Volumes), Bhagavad Gita as it is (2 Volumes) and Krsna (1 Volume) – I wonder if you could point me to the sections that I should be looking at as this is a huge amount of holy scripture or refer me to online version, I will be much obliged. --Hari Singh 05:02, 23 September 2006 (UTC) India starPlease be advised, I borrowed (flicked ;) the barnstar you designed and added to the WikiProject India. MahawikiHi dear Admin, This is to bring to your notice the wiki-feud I've been having with User:Mahawiki for almost one month now. It started with the Belgaum page which went to mediation, warnings were handed out to both parties, and when Mahawiki's incivil ways continued, Admin:Bluyugen handed him a warning and then a block. Find that here. I do not want to turn the clock back and go through all those content disputes again. Infact, I dont want to present to you the details of any content dispute we've had. All I want to present to you is the brazen incivility and personal attacks being committed by User:Mahawiki either in the course of his content disputes or even simply just out of spite. All the diffs(exhibiting his incivility and personal attacks) I provide below are from AFTER, I REPEAT, "AFTER". ADMIN BLUGYUEN INTERVENED, WARNED ALL OF US, BLOCKED MAHAWIKI AND SAID . Please find below dozens of instances of blatant incivility and personal attacks by User:Mahawiki either on me or on User:Dineshkannambadi and all Kannadigas in general. His remarks are in extremely bad taste and counterproductive resulting in undermining of the good faith efforts of the other editors to carry on editing their articles. While I dont want to go into each and every diff and explain it, just to give you a sample of his incivility, he has made edits where, even if only in jest or sarcasm, he makes atrocious claims like, I am on a kill Mahawiki mission, that User:Dineshkannambadi is the Kannada (Bin) Laden(sic). In another edit, even if only for jest(which I certainly dont find amusing nor appreciate esp., when it comes from him), he has threatened to sue me. He has called us cultural TERRORISTS, losers, notorious, shameless etc., etc. He uses the word vandalism like one would use 'Hi' and 'Hello'. Find all the above and much much much more in the diffs I've provided below. Whats worse is his antics are going unchecked because Admin:Blugyen who knows about our feud is on a wikibreak and Admin:Sundar whose intervention I've sought more than once, is busy with other things(I presume, in real life) - which ofcourse, I dont hold against either of them. But wikipedia will be a poorer place if brazen incivility like this goes unchecked for weeks simply because many admins dont know about it or the ones who know are by force of circumstances, too busy to deal with it. I request immediate and harsh action on Mahawiki. Once again, let me remind everyone that in the links below, none of them pertain to any content disputes. I belive in dealing with the content disputes on the relevant talk pages and dont usually bring it out on user talk pages. Infact, I have even not listed below, the atrocious claim he made a couple of days ago that I had deleted and later undeleted an article. Also not listed below is his blatant removal of {{fact}} tags I had added in a couple of articles without even clarifying or providing a citation for the claim which I had tagged. Also not listed below may be umpteen other instances of incivility and npa violations on his part that I might have missed. All the diffs below deal purely and only with his brazen incivil comments and personal attacks not just on me, but on User:Dineshkannambadi and also highly respected historians like Mr. Suryanath Kamath et al(who have been cited in some articles by Dinesh) whom he has trashed and dismissed in the most uncivil manner possible. Apart from this he also makes disparaging remarks on Karnataka and Karnataka politicians who he keeps claiming are oppressing and torturing Marathi speaking people in Belgaum. This is not a content dispute, this is plain nonsense and insanely belligerent language. His incivility apart, he has made it a habit and a routine to go around all over wikipedia branding me and Dinesh as 'Kannadi' vandals bent on Kannadizing all articles we touch. Ask him if we have included any uncited material or if we has ever cited any references for his numerous claims or whether he has taken it up on the article talk page instead of on a random user talk page. His answer will be negative. And yet, that doesnt stop him from going around shouting that we have been vandalising articles!! Anway, I dont want to veer this towards the 'content disputes' which is a whole different matter altogether. Content disputes can always be discussed and agreements reached. Let me present to you just his brazen incivility and personal attacks. How is it POV to include both views? Reply to your messageHi, thanks for inviting me to contribute to Hindi wikipedia. I have also noticed the sad state of it and would definitely like to contribute. In fact I did a few minor (actually negligible) edits earlier on Hindi wikipedia. What prohibits me from adding more is typing in Devanagari, as you have already guessed. HinduismSorry, I have no knowledge whether you are administrator or not? I believe, you had taken some interest in Raj Yog controversy of Hinduism. Which is a dispute of principle for incorporating distorted facts and adamance not to correct the article or allow adding controversial views. Wish that if you are administrator or senior editor, you look the discussion well. Swadhyayee 05:27, 9 October 2006 (UTC) Yoga stuffhello Gizza -- I do not wish to become involved in this Yoga controversy, because Yoga lies completely outside my area of expertise, and too often I am accused of being a clueless meddling whiteboy by Hindus for being involved in areas where I do have expertise. All I can say is that the main problem with our Yoga articles is that they are extremely poorly written and referenced. So people should really address that before haggling over which paths to include in which templates (which is of course much easier, just not as productive). I would say that the crucial question is the content of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Unfortunately, this article is so poor as to be practically useless, we'd have to consult the reference it cites. Similarly, the "origins" section of Raja Yoga consists of a quote by some 20th century Swami saying that Raja Yoga was recognized by some 19th century Swami. No clue as to the actual attestation of the school in Misplaced Pages's voice. Unless these articles are improved, the "controversy" really hangs in the air. The first step is to establish the facts in the article bodies, controversies about how to present things in templates and what not should come later. regards, dab (ᛏ) 07:02, 9 October 2006 (UTC) Well I do not know your concern for importance of extent of standard of language? It's not easy to explain Hindu philosophy in a way a lay man (particularly a non-Hindu or a Hindu youth with no exposure to Hindu Philosophy) can understand. Not advocating in support of poor language, but the purpose of encyclopedia will be served if the language is easily understandable. I think, you should pay equal attention to the need for easy to understand and fast readable article. If you can have this thing in your mind, I think you will be of more advantage. Very high standard of language take more time to read and tend boring as well confusing than understanding to most viewers. I myself am essentially Konkani, but a Sephardic (Baghdadi) Jew on my Mother's side. She is descended from Iraqi immigrants and her family has been in Mumbai since the 19th century (not to be confused with the Beni Yisrael Jews who have been around for longer). My last name is derived from my father, who is a Hindu, as I'm sure you have guessed. My father's family are very devout worshippers of Krishna and also observe Ganesh Chaturthi.. I personally have not been a very observant Jew as such in the past, though I am learning more now. I did go to the Kenesseth Eliyahu (Bombay synagogue in Fort near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station) during High Holy days etc. Minyanim was always there though (at least 10 male clerics). Regarding observance of Judaism, it is a complex matter. We follow the Commandments and the code of Moshe. While we are not strictly Orthodox (though some Indian Jews are, which is a recent development, long story there), we do follow some traditional practices like Daf Yomi (reading from Talmud), Dietary Laws (hoofed cud-chewing animals only, bled per Kashrut ), Shulchan Aruch (post-Talmudic Halakha laws) and regard the Gemara (which is like the Jewish "Upanishad" of sorts,, basically Rabbinical analysis of the Mishna of Talmud), among others. Some Desi Jews have adopted Hindu customs over the years (like burning the dead etc.). We mostly dress like any normal Bombayite, including traditionals like Kurta-Pajama for men, Sari-Dupattaa for women etc so we adopted those too :) . We do have an ideological connection with Israel. It was the fount of Judaism and we are happy that it has been repatriated. Some Bombay Jews are politically left-leaning (my mum is a Congress supporter) though I support BJP.Hkelkar 04:32, 20 October 2006 (UTC) My RfA

HindiThe /z/ is a peripheral phoneme in Hindi, and does not come through sanskrit. These peripheral phonemes are not very much entertained in contemporary Hindi world, where the emphasis is on "Shuddh Sanskritized Hindi". Hence it was my personal recommendation to use स with a dot below; What you claim about dialects is absoluely correct: but it's the people's mistake that we wish to avoid: the confusion with a wrong phoneme ज . It is not a requirement but a recommendation. In dictionaries etc, people freely make up many nukta characters on their own for transliteration: it is very common in India. And my grad school work in the United States is continuously making it more and more difficult to devote time to Hindi or English wiki, but I'll keep trying.
