Hinduism is a minority religion in belize. The origins of Hinduism in Belize date to 1857 when three thousand East Indians migrated from Jamaica to Belize. According to 2010 census, 2% of Belize population is Hindu. Hindus from British India continued to arrive in Belize during the 19th century to work as indentured labourers on sugar cane plantations.
The Hindu community in Belize today consists mostly of families who arrived in the 1950s, when Belize was still a British colony. The community is composed almost entirely of Sindhis and so there are few cultural differences within it.
