ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Rollbacker

I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Misplaced Pages:Administrators' guide/Rollback and Misplaced Pages:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. – Gilliam (talk) 09:41, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

About German Death Camps

Hello,

what kind of source you would like to have - don't you know history - there is no Nazi land - only Germany, so there were German Death Camps, not Nazi Death camps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.95.144.247 (talk) 15:43, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello,
You were changing a wiki link to another page, namely Nazi Germany. As this is the title of the page, I would assume that this name should be consistent throughout the whole Misplaced Pages and therefore also in that article. If you have any more questions, please contact the corresponding WP-Project or the talk page of the article. --TheFrog001 (talk) 19:10, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

"DREAM ACT unconstructive"

I was simply fixing an error. There is so such thing as "undocumented immigrants" in United States law. They are referred to as "illegal aliens". This is a fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.20.68.96 (talk) 28 February 2017, 18:27:24‎

Dear 47.20.68.96,
If what you claim were a "fact", you surely wouldn't find any document in Congress' document search containing the words "undocumented immigrants". During my research, I found 749 hits when searching for those words. You can even see for yourself here. It is important to question things you encounter on the Misplaced Pages, but please, check your sources before you edit and name them in your edits.
TheFrog001 (talk) 17:53, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Update:
Here you go: https://www.congress.gov/search?searchResultViewType=expanded&q={%22congress%22:%22all%22,%22source%22:%22legislation%22,%22search%22:%22\%22illegal+aliens\%22%22}
1646 hits. So which one is fact ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.20.68.96 (talk) 00:36, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Dear IP-User,
As you can probably see, both termina are being used in law. As per WP:Consensus, please seek a consensus for controversial edits on the article's talk page.

The subject on halsey was verified in multiple interviews

Stop being an asshat theres literally videos of her playing them. All her fans know that, and ive wouldve linked the interviews but idk how Dr.apxllx (talk) 13:38, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Dear Dr.apxllx,
It is essential for biographies of living people to be incontestable, so if you want to add information to an article, please use the <ref> tags when editing the source code of an article or the Source button of the visual editor. If you want more information, please have a look at WP:REFB.
Thank you for editing the Misplaced Pages constructively.

Because of You (After School song)

This article is listed as an EP, Please can we match the collar and cuffs - either it's a song or it's not. I assumed it was an EP, if you disagree please remove EP references. Thanks. --Richhoncho (talk) 19:02, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

Dear Richhoncho,
Yes, you're right, the release is more an EP than a single. I already made an edit to better reflect that in the infobox. Thank you for pointing this out.

Type in infobox album

Thanks for catching these. As you'll have gathered, I'm doing fixes to the infobox and clearing junk entries from the Type field. When I get to the end, I'm planning on getting some code added to the template to create a category that shows all of the articles where Type has no value next to it. - X201 (talk) 09:48, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Dear X201,
Thanks for your efforts to clean up the templates! Your idea of creating a maintenance category will surely be helpful to fix those ugly salmon-coloured infoboxes with empty types.
TheFrog001 (talk) 16:54, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
Here you go Category:Pages using infobox album with empty type parameter, it will fill up over time. Apparently it's peach, not salmon pink. - X201 (talk) 07:39, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Dear Sakkav,
I know that constructive editing is hard, but if your edits do not add anything of value to the Misplaced Pages, then they do not belong to the Misplaced Pages. Please reflect your sorriness in your edits, as last edit wasn't constructive .
Be bold with your edits, but apply common sense.

Website address for an author

When I go to Misplaced Pages and check an author on Misplaced Pages, I want to know if there is a website associated with the author.

That is why I added a website for Peter Driscoll. Why is it not allowed to include an author website?

(Btw, I am vangogan, who started this Peter Driscoll author page.)

p.s. Also, there is a book of his, Heritage, which when you click it, goes NOT to the author's book, but a totally different page about Dr. Who. That link needs to be taken away. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.147.225.17 (talk) 18:57, 10 August 2017 (UTC)

Dear 75.147.225.17,
Please have a look at WP:ELPOINTS #2 for guidance on where to place external links, WP:ELBLP on how to deal with ELs on biographies, and WP:ELOFFICIAL for general advice on the use of "official" webpages on the Misplaced Pages.

WikiProject Investment

Hey there! I just re-launched the WikiProject Investment.

Feel free to check out the project and ping me if you have any questions.

I'd like to invite you to join the Investment WikiProject. There are a lot of Investment related articles on Misplaced Pages that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help get this project off the ground and a few Investment pages into the front ranks of Misplaced Pages articles. Thanks!

I don't recall what I suggested to edit in January of 2017, about Roosevelt, but I'm sure it was vital. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.249.196.131 (talk) 19:25, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

Spelling-correction in incorrect context

Thanks for GNOMEing the capitalization of "YouTube". One nit: in this edit, you changed it in a URL, not just in English prose. I don't know what criteria you are using to find places to fix it, but might want to double-check manually that it's not hitting computer/technical contexts. DMacks (talk) 07:41, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out - I already amended the search criteria so that it shouldn't happen again…

User:TheFrog001/JWB-settings.js

Hi TheFrog001. For some reason the non-free file File:Batelco.blocked.png is being flagged as a WP:NFCC#9/WP:UP#Non-free files violation in User:TheFrog001/JWB-settings.js. The page is protected so I cannot look to see where the file is, but aCntrl-F search shows the code for the file is used in that particular page. Anyway, perhaps you can tweak the syntax, so the file doesn't get flagged as WP:NFCCP vio any more. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:26, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, the problem should be fixed now.

NPOV Confederate Memorials

Hi TheFrog001, I am not trying to present my views but the facts. If someone commits a murder like Dylann Roof and James Fields did I want the facts documented. If someone illegally pulls down a statue I want the facts documented. It does not matter to me whether they are on the Right or the Left if they are committing a criminal act. Yes the Murders are a more serious crime than a riot/vandalism, but society needs call a duck a duck in all forms of media, including wikipedia.

Personally I am well read on the Civil War Era battles, campaigns, causes (yes slavery was the main cause)etc. I am a centrist who deals with facts not ideology. As a result I end up arguing with those on the far right and far left who cannot learn from historical facts and understand the context of the time around those facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.220.157.243 (talk) 08:28, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Dear 98.220.157.243,
After carefully reviewing your edit, I can see that the tagging of your edit as vandalism was not sufficiently justified.

Infobox song parameters

Please note that Template:Infobox song makes more use of class=plainlist and class=hlist than Template:Infobox album. Adding other list templates or <br/> is unnecessary and may cause WP:ACCESS problems. This is explained in the template documentation for the individual parameters. Also, adding empty |prev_title=, etc., is unnecessary for songs, since it is only used for those released as singles. The substitution trick is sometimes helpful for cleaning up templates. —Ojorojo (talk) 17:04, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
