Robert "Bob" Lord (born March 12, 1963) is IBM's first Chief Digital Officer where he is now missioned with bringing together the IBM Digital Business Group. He is responsible for overseeing the Digital Platforms team, Digital Sales organization, Digital Marketing, Routes to Market and Offering teams, and IBM's Developer and Startup Ecosystem
Education
Lord graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in industrial engineering. While at Syracuse he was an Industrial Engineering and Co-Operative Educations honors student and a member of Sigma Chi (1981-1985). Furthering his education, he attended Harvard Business School and graduated with an MBA in Administration and Management.

Lord began working at General Motors in June 1983 as a shift supervisor and industrial engineer where he stayed for a year. Then he began working for Corning Inc. as a senior industrial project engineer/marketing project engineer from June 1985- September 1988.
