The Rabbit currency is an invention of the Anime and is not found in the Manga. The conversion factor is one Rabbit = 100 Yen which is about equal to one American dollar. In the Manga the students are issued Yen (at this conversion rate from the amounts listed), which are far more likely to be useful outside the Academy grounds (should they ever escape). == Shape vs Type of Alice ==

You are mixing up two different concepts here. Both Natsume and the creator of Mr. Bear have an Alice Shape that drains their own lives, but the other guy isn't a Dangerous Ability Alice.

Also almost any of the Alices can have lethal impacts. (Imagine Mikan nullifying Ruka's Alice while he's being buddies with a dangerous animal.)

I personally favor the Animax dub names for the Alice Types.

Technical Ability: Their creations (robots, drawings, stuffed animals, cooking, chemistry, music, etc.) have strange features.

Latent Ability: Traditional psionic powers. (Reading minds, projecting mental illusions, telekinesis, fortune telling, clairvoyance, teleportation through space, projecting lightning bolts, flight, wall walking, etc.)

Somatic type: Alices that modify the user's own body. (Dog ears, pheromones, controlling other people with your voice, super speed running, etc.)

Special Ability: Alices that don't fit into the above categories. (Teleportation through both space and time, voice power that only causes people to laugh, control of people through their shadows, the ability to project rain, etc.)

Dangerous Ability: An Alice of any of the above types that the facility consider dangerous.

Other than for Meta-Alices (Alices that only work on other Alices), such as Mikan's, the Special Ability class shouldn't exist and Dangerous Ability is more of a social control than a scientific classification.

Alice Shape (or Form) is an entirely different topic.

Every Alice (of whatever class) is of one of four shapes, that specify how much of it can be used and how often.

Childhood Alice: They start out as an Alice but grow up to be an ordinary adult.

Diffuse: The Alice is always available, but at a relatively low power level.

Intermittent: The Alice can only be used for a short period at any time, but at a relatively high power level.

Limitless: The Alice can be used as often and as much as desired, but each use impacts against the user's own life and can kill them if overused.

So Natsume is actually a Limitless Latent Ability Alice of Fire who has been reclassified as Dangerous Ability Alice. (Even though his power is only slightly more dangerous than say Mr. Jinno's.)

Mikan is harder to classify, but I bet her Alice Shape is Diffuse as she doesn't have any problems blocking mind control Alices whenever they are used against her. (She must be using some sort of Alice judo to turn higher power level Alices against themselves so she doesn't have to match the power level of the Alices she defends against.)

Overall Alice power levels seem to be increasing over time, as the student's can generally over match the teachers when they have the same general type of Alice, but this may be due to a limited sample size. (Or perhaps the Academy is breeding up higher Alice power levels to give Japan a WMD program...)

Page move

I agree with the rename, but isn't there a more proper procedure for renaming articles rather than copy & paste? —Tokek 11:32, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

That is what the 'move' button is for. However, now there is a history at the other end it probably won't be possible without administrator intervention. Shiroi Hane

Narumi Cleanup

I think the Narumi Section needs a cleanup...cleanups are good.

I have a question: Isn't Tobita Yuu a female? 67.82.102.128 16:18, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Nope obviously not... ---203.131.83.36 06:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Bart Simpson is voiced by Nancy Cartwright and Charlie Brown has been voiced by Erin Chase so the practice of using adult women to provide the voices for animated preadolescent boys is not a purely Japanese practice. The problem is that Yuu's voice actress (in the Japanese Anime and not the Animax dub) voices him like a little girl. Given that the character is already somewhat wimpy, this tends to throw off the occasional fan.

Star Ranking

Mikan's Zero-star soup is no doubt miso.
