Child's Play is an upcoming horror film written by Tyler Burton Smith and directed by Lars Klevberg. It is a reboot of the 1988 film of the same name and serves as the eight installment in the Child's Play franchise. It stars Brian Tyree Henry, Aubrey Plaza, and Gabriel Bateman.

By July 2018, Collider reported that a modern-day version of Child's Play, a reboot, is in development at MGM, with Polaroid filmmaker Lars Klevberg directing it, Tyler Burton Smith writing the script, and Seth Grahame-Smith and Katzenberg producing it.

Principal photography began in September 2018 in Vancouver.

It was announced in July 2018 that a remake of the 1988 Tom Holland horror film was in development, with Lars Klevberg directing, and Liv Tyler reportedly being sought to star. In September, Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry and Gabriel Bateman were cast and filming beginning in Vancouver.
