How droll. I find your apparent and unconcern for your misinformation sad. What you may not be aware of is that you so called "carefully referenced information" was in fact wrong. You continue to own pages where people constantly have to go behind you and fix your misinformation. The sad part of it is that usually people walk away because they have lives and have no desire to get into an edit war...unlike you. I mostly edit for clarity, grammar and good referencing, I'm a new wikipedian, so I'm still learning.
edit count = 868. Sweet.
Interests
I created most of the entries for the races of the Malazan Book of the Fallen, and have compiled them all into a single page, Races of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. I'm having some trouble with the redirects, anyone who happens to be reading this (why?) is welcome to help.
I've also been fruitfully involved in the Terry Goodkind and George R. R. Martin bio pages. It is an ongoing and excellent learning experience.
Other interests include nutrition, exercise physiology, human physiology of the musculo-skeletal and cardiovascular systems as well as psychology in general and areas I'm a bit more knowledgeable in - autism, behaviourism, critical psychology, community psychology.
Five (six?) stages of Misplaced Pages
I liken my learning experience with Misplaced Pages to the five stages of grief as expressed by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (note: I really don't hate Bob Sagat):
1) Denial - I can’t believe no-one has written about what a tool Bob Sagat is! Awesome, I’ll put that in.
2) Anger - Where did my text go? What do you mean I can’t write that Bob Sagat is a tool? What the hell does revert mean? What the hell is WP:NPOV?
3) Bargaining - Fine, I’ll read your stupid policy, but then I’m totally putting my Bob Sagat thing back.
4) Depression - Stupid policy makes sense, I guess I can’t write about how much I hate Bob Sagat. This sucks. I’m going to see what else I can edit on this stupid encyclopedia.
5) Acceptance (wisdom?) - I can’t believe some dumb newbie called Bob Sagat an idiot. Doesn’t he know about NPOV? Hold on, he’s got a reference…
Wikistalker
And to this I add:
6) Holy crap I'm being wikistalked. Hey, it's forcing me to reference and improve the articles. I guess like a coffee enema, it's a pain in the ass but it's good for you.
Apparently I can kill people
I have recently been informed that my willy-nilly editing can kill. I did not realize that at my fingertips, my carefully referenced information was capable of murder. I can only hope that the power does not corrupt me and turn me into a monster. So please, if you are reading this, take note that of all the editors of Misplaced Pages, I am the sole on with the power of life and death. I can only assume that my edits are so convincing people will proceed with my diagnoses and treatments rather than seeking the help of a medical professional. I shall now pause to ponder the moral implications of this tremendous ability. And here I thought I was merely a clever fellow.
