Playboy Online/Playboy Cyber Club on deletion review
An editor has asked for a deletion review of Playboy Online/Playboy Cyber Club. Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, your reasons on how or why you did so will be greatly appreciated in the above review. go here Misplaced Pages:Deletion_review#Playboy_Online.2FPlayboy_Cyber_Club TonyTheTiger 00:15, 13 November 2006 (UTC).
Deletion of templates
Please do not delete templates. If you disagree with the disputed fair use template, you are supposed to follow a process by adding your own template and then discussing on the talk page. Deletion of templates is considered vandalism. The fact that this image is an album cover does NOT automatically make it okay for fair use. It is a copyrighted image. Shiny new buttons
Two weeks ago I couldn't even spell administratur and now I are one (in no small part thanks to your support). Now that I checked out those new buttons I realize that I can unleash mutant monsters on unsuspecting articles or summon batteries of laser guns in their defense. The move button has now acquired special powers, and there's even a feature to roll back time. With such awesome new powers at my fingertips I will try to tread lightly to avoid causing irreversible damage and getting into any wheel wars. Thanks again and let me know whenever I can be of use. |
The Luke Adamson Article
Why pray did you feel it necessary to delete the above article from Misplaced Pages. And why do you have the right to delete other peoples articles?
See WP:CSD#A7, Misplaced Pages:Vanity and WP:V for some of wikipedia policies concerning your article. And admins can delete articles if it doesn't meet the crteria. If you have a problem, take it to WP:DRV Jaranda 20:31, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes, but i dont see how this page was breaking any of the rules or laws laid down by Misplaced Pages for sensible use. It says it may not be used for advertising yes, This, however, was not an advert, it was simply a biography, there are plenty of other professional actors with biographies or autobiographies on Misplaced Pages why was this one deleted? What damage was it doing?
- Well most of those actors are more notable, appear in movies, and has a IMDB page, as there is an IMDB listing in your name with only one minor entry, which doesn't come close to meeting WP:BIO. Thanks Jaranda 22:31, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
So stage performances don't qualify you as being an actor? To be an actor you have to have appeared in films and have an IMDB page? Well if that is the view of Misplaced Pages then I think I'm better off without and article on this site. Regards
Deletion of article Ntropy
I am the author of the Ntropy article which if I understand correctly was deleted by you (after I think a proposal period) on 5 September. This is my first Misplaced Pages article, so I apologize in advance for any lack of understanding on my part.
I understand that there is a policy against "blatant advertising" of a product. However, I do not understand the difference between my page and, say, Charm++ or NAMD. These, like Ntropy, are applications/frameworks/compilers developed by original scientific research using government or other non-profit funding (in other words, there is no benefit to "advertising" them). The existence of these pages prompted me to make a similar one for Ntropy. I am not trying to argue one way or the other for my article, but I am trying to understand why there is a difference between Ntropy and Charm++, NAMD, CHARMM, and other comparable tools for computational science that do have Misplaced Pages articles. Thanks very much,

It's getting truly irritating to keep finding people who don't know what they're talking about have come back and fiddled with the article to edit the Quintanillas' nationalities. I found a reliable source to back up that her father is Mexican-American and born in Corpus, but I can't find anything to say where her mother was born. Within the last 48 hours, someone came out of nowhere and posted that she's Panamanian. Huh?!? After all, surely if she were, that would have come up by now ... and they had her maiden name wrong, too. I added in the source for the father and added a source for her mother's maiden name (Texas birth record summaries available online), but if someone could provide a reliable source to confirm her mother's birthplace, it should go a long way toward getting people to stop the uninformed edits on this particular point. Thought I'd mention it in case you have any source that mentions where Marcella Quintanilla was born. Best wishes, Lawikitejana 16:42, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Hmm I can't find any source where her mom is from, so just revert using the WP:CITE method. Thanks Jaranda 22:32, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Chicken and Rice
What tally did you come up with when you decided to delete Chicken and Rice? There was a fairly sizable number of keep votes, myself included. Everyking 06:48, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Note also that the closely related AfD on Hallo Berlin resulted (correctly) in a closure as no consensus. It doesn't make much sense that these two articles got two different outcomes. Everyking 06:51, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Actually I was just about to mention this thanks, EveryKing. I was going to put up the article for deletion review but am unsure if there is a minimum wait period. It seems there is an inconsistence between the initial article for deletion and the revised version. Valoem 16:17, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Which ones are you referring to and I will try to find ones that are considered free use. Skyscraper speedies
Hi there. Calton (talk • contribs • count) nominated quite a number of stubs on unfinished skyscrapers for speedy deletion, and you deleted at least one of them. They were subsequently recreated by Zonk43 (talk • contribs • count), and then re-tagged. At this point they came to my attention, and I decided not to delete them and to remove the tags instead. It is my view that the CSD are being used here as part of a content dispute over whether the buildings are sufficiently notable (or perhaps it's really just whether the stubs are long enough!), and that it is best to let their potential deletion be handled through a process with more community input, like AfD. Any thoughts? -- SCZenz 01:15, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Wrong version: Request for rv and protection
You protected the page Midnight Syndicate for edit waring. I was involved but had been working on the page for a long time. I cited every single one of my contributions. The user who I was waring with arrived afterwards and added nothing but a few links to outside websites and altered context (deceptive editing) to change the meaning, dates, and credits of the subjects. I tried to include what verifiable data I could from the other user (mostly press releases or links to myspace, ect). They constantly removed my citations and references as well. Their ONLY complaint is that it promotes a well known past member/producer of the band, but I believe that ALL the band members are represented fairly and without undue weight. The way the article reads now as it is currently protected throws undue weight upon only one person, incorrectly credits him with credits belonging to the producer, lists the wrong label for two albums, and lists the band's city as "Cleveland" when it should be "Chardon" and is highly self-promotional. I would like to request that you revert to this version . protect per The Wrong Version guidelines. It is the last one I edited. Thank you. GuardianZ 08:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- User:GuardianZ used his sockpuppet User:Oroboros_1 to tagteam in the Midnight Syndicate article to avoid 3RR violations. User:GuardianZ's only citations comes from articles published by Midnight Syndicate's main rivals Nox Arcana. The current version of the Midnight Syndicate article properly credits Joseph Vargo. Dionyseus 09:00, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
User:Skinny_McGee who was also in the edit war, and who's version is protected is a proven sockpuppet of one user and has two more sleepers in reserve (all proven), and he did not contribute to anything but self-promotion ( I still believe him to be a band member posting his own bio, now moreso than ever). I have also made several requests for a recheck on my own IP and one came back inconclusive. I am not Oroboros_1 as he has logged in as a different IP even before I was blocked, then again afterwards, and is blocked still, as far as what Dionyseus has said. Further, Dionyseus has been trying to disrupt every post that I make, has not contributed a single line of text to the article and has doggedly reverted every single thing I wrote and cited, whereas Skinny McGee has cited nothing and written nothing except promotional links to fan sites and his business partners' sites and promotions. Irregardless of who is a sock, the fact remains that the current version is wrong, and Dionyseus and Skinny McGee don't want to admit it because it credits a former member of the band that they both hate, so they try to skirt the issue with other nonsense. I made numerous attempts to compromise with both of them, and they just kept removing everything I wrote and cited. I have just recently made yet another attempt to write a more valid paragraph on the talk page and Skinny McGee did not offer anything in his response. GuardianZ 15:37, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- False, the "inconclusive" was the check into whether you and User:Peacekpr are the same person. Dionyseus 15:45, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Just wanted to throw in that I'm working on my response off-line right now. I'm not logged on 24 hours a day, you know, and these things take time (especially when I am constantly forced to stop what I'm working on and defend myself). - Skinny McGee 17:02, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
You can't cite your own self-promotion, so you try to gang up on me because I found sources to cite for my editing and you have zero to back up your self-serving propaganda. You are Edward Douglas, and your sockpuppet is your wife Colleen Douglas User:Defender99. It is so obvious it's sad. And Dionyseus, you must be a game store employee or someone who knows Edward personally to be hounding after me like this. You both will be found out to be meatpuppets of each other. And Dionyseus, you are on report for harassing me on my user page. Again, no matter what happens in between, the article is wrong and my cites prove it. So, Jaranda, I implore you to read my version and look at my citations and then look at what Skinny is posting, all his band promo, and make the call. I have tried to compromise and they will not even discuss the idea of meeting halfway. And Dionyseus was not even editing the article, he was just reverting all of my writing to save Skinny from 3RRs. GuardianZ 23:56, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Your citations from Midnight Syndicate's main rival Nox Arcana prove nothing and cannot be used in Misplaced Pages. As for me, I don't know Edward Douglas and have never met him nor any band member for any bands for that matter (nor would I want to meet any band), and I'm not a game store employee either, I'm simply a Wikipedian with an interest in a wide variety of subjects. Dionyseus 00:32, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
For one, Vargo proves his statements undeniably with legal copyright forms, printed matter, published news articles, letters from store owners, letters from people who were present during his work with the band, a long radio interview (with Edward, Gavin, and Vargo present). Secondly, the only citation from that list I used was the radio interview and a few interviews from 1999 and 2000 that are located on the internet. Because the interviews feature all 3 members and not just Edward trying to twist things nowadays, they are much more verifiable than any of the so-called interviews that Skinny posts as part of his propaganda. I used other interviews from MS's own band site too, ones they link to, and press articles that Skinny posted. There is nothing you or Skinny show that prove verifiable. Every single item is disputed by earlier material. You know very well that User:Skinny_McGee is Edward Douglas User:Midsyndicate and that he and his wife User:Defender99 and his promoter User:Lizstjames and others are just trying to change history because Edward cannot share the credit for all the work Vargo did. It's obvious that Edward has been editing his own wiki page for a very long time, and as he has done in the past with Press interviews, he is using it as a tool of propaganda. Every item I posted is true and is not harmful to the current members. What IS harmful is denying what took place in the past, and that they bring upon themselves. They just don't like it because while they are out there telling people lies and promoting a false history, claiming credit for Vargo's work, I am here trying to write an accurate history. You and Skinny have always complained of the article promting Vargo, but when you and Skinny change the text to promote Edward, it is untrue! I have written nothing that is blown out of proportion. I cite only credits and the work done and what happened with the albums and how they became successful. You and Skinny are just mad because you cannot cite any propaganda becasue it's untrue and can't be depended upon due to ALL of it being in Edward's own words (ie: a re-publication of the band's own press releases, and that is NOT verifiable). A lot of people are discovering the truth. What about the Amazon forum for Out of the Darkness?... There's a lot of people there complaining that their reviews are being edited or removed just so that MS can have 5-star reviews. I didn't put that into the article but it does show that this band is actively trying to change what is publicized. I am not the only one to notice. I just happen to be one of a few to care enough to try to clean up the hoax. If Edward were smart, he would just admit the Vargo did and all of this would die down, but as he keeps on and on by trying to change facts he's just digging himself in deeper. As for Nox Arcana, I never mentioned them in the article. I only mentioned Vargo as he applies to the past, as the band's producer and performer for two VERY formative and successful years. GuardianZ 14:26, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Jaranda, If you read the last part of the Talk:Midnight_Syndicate page, you'll see that we are close to an agreement. Can you please reply as to fixing the protected article, or allowing an edit-protected. Skinny McGee and I have made certain compromises, and it's as close to correct as it will get. Thank you. GuardianZ 06:56, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, Jaranda. I must disagree with GuardianZ. While we have made some progress, based on her last response on the Midnight Syndicate talk page I do not believe we are close to an agreement. - Skinny McGee 15:15, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with User:Skinny McGee's assessment of the situation. I'm not liking User:GuardianZ's tone, just now he/she told me that "I have no room to talk" : . As for the deceptive "concensus" User:GuardianZ mentions here in your talkpage, it consists of User:GuardianZ stating a "final reply" which basically says that User:GuardianZ is sticking to his/her version. Dionyseus 16:55, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
So far, Skinny McGee has been unable to cite his edits with anything verifiable. I had thought we were close to an agreement, but he seemed to take a step back in re-wording a re-arranging credit once again. I have re-cited earlier references when asked by Skinny, yet instead of acknowledging anything, he and Dionyseus continue to complain and go on the attack. Dionyseus has done no research, no editing, and has zero citations. All he and Skinny have done is to revert and put down all the material. Dionyseus (speaking on behalf of ALL of Misplaced Pages) told me to "watch my attitude" after having been reprimanded for harassing me. If you will read my edits and the cites, you'll see that my version is fairly weighted, neutral, and above all, correct. Skinny and Dionyseus are trying to push a false version. They have as yet not cited a single thing with any verifiable facts. Policy states that if an incorrect version is not reverted to I may seek another admin for help if you are unwilling to answer this request. GuardianZ 23:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
The page is protected so I can't protected it, yes WP:CITE is a valid agruement, I want nothing involved as i rarely have time now, take it to medication or another admin if possible. Sorry Jaranda 00:48, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
