Deletion Sorting Project |
---|
|
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to People. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|People|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to People. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Misplaced Pages:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Misplaced Pages's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

I did a check for sources after coming across this article and seeing it only uses primary references. I've found only found 3 passing mentions in published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. Those passing mentions have to do with Ferris' company MAXfunds.com, and do not go in depth into this person. If I'm missing a source I'd be happy to be shown it. As of now, appears to fail WP:GNG and WP:BIO as a non-notable TV personality. — Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 09:53, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Need discussion on the article following Patapsco913's improvements
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Ritchie333 10:32, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
- Keep He has been personally discussed in a number of sources beyond just being quoted. The sources added by Patapsco913 discuss a website which he operates which was mentioned at length in several independent secondary sources. He appears to have been a moderately high profile figure in the investment world for some time, beyond just being a pundit. Machetazic (talk) 15:01, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
- Yet not a single source added by you or Patapsco913 has been in-depth coverage of Ferris himself (merely more coverage of Maxfunds and now a Fox News story Ferris discussed on air once). MaxFunds.com potentially having some notability, and stories Ferris has covered on Fox News getting secondary coverage, are not justifications for Ferris having a stand-alone article himself. So, in no way has the article been improved to our standard of retention. And, I still do not see a path for that to happen here. — Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 10:18, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

- Keep It doesn't fail WP:MUSICBIO as she has two songs on national music charts. It also doesn't fail WP:GNG as two of the most reliable news sources in Portugal are SIC Notícias and SAPO. I don't consider it too soon as she has songs with over 10 million views on Youtube. She is well known on the country. Phospor (Talk 13:42, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- Keep as passes criteria 2 of WP:NMUSIC with charting singles on a national chart and has coverage in Portuguese reliable sources so deserves to be included imv Atlantic306 (talk) 01:20, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Keep - as Atlantic306 says, she meets criteria 2 of the music SNG. I also think she might pass WP:GNG, but that's a borderline case, and others might see it differently. But being borderline GNG, and passing NMUSIC puts me in the keep column. Onel5969 11:59, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

- Speedy delete - I've tagged this with G11. Seems unambiguously promotional to me. It was inappropriately created in mainspace by a paid editor after a previous version was draftified. SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 21:40, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Comment I removed the Speedy Delete tag, since this was already listed at AFD and should go through the process here. These are two different processes. AFD is a discussion and consensus. Speedy Delete does not allow for discussion. WP:PAID is allowed at Misplaced Pages if proper disclosure is posted on the editor's user page.. — Maile (talk) 22:10, 18 December 2019 (UTC) — Maile (talk) 22:04, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Well, the page has an odd history - it was initially tagged for A7 and G11 by another user, then the nom sent it to AfD one minute after the CSD tagging, presumably not having seen the tags - then the author blanked the page, so the CSD tagger removed their tags, and then someone restored the article because it was at AfD. I think the initial CSD tagging was correct and it was only removed because of a technicality. However, if it would be better for this to go through AfD then that's fine. (And while paid editing is allowed, paid editors are instructed to submit drafts through AfC and not create articles directly in mainspace, per WP:Conflict of interest#Paid editing). SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 22:15, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- SpicyMilkBoy & Maile66 sigh, it was silly me tbh. Lapablo correctly placed a speedy delete tag on the page (which it very well qualifies for) at the exact same time I opened an AFD for it. Both actions occurred simultaneously. Sorry for the mix up & all. In the end it is a promotional piece for a non notable subject.Celestina007 (talk) 22:25, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- There's a lot of actions that need to be cleared up here. Apparently @Lapablo: moved the article to Draft:Jeremiah Red without leaving a redirect, so there are two versions. Then @Justlettersandnumbers: blocked @Runawaytonight:, so the author is not able to reply here, but has filed an appeal for unblock. A whole lot of people got involved in this, before any one part of it ran its course. Perhaps the first step should be to see how the unblock appeal plays out. — Maile (talk) 22:42, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Yes i had moved the article to Draftspace and issued a notice on the authors talk page but minutes later the same copy of the article was republished by the author in mainspace. When i had found out that it was recreated i tagged it with CSD G11 at the same time an editor also took it to AFD hence i had to withdraw the speedy tag. 09:33, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Lapablo (talk)

- Comment. Yes, Maile66, I blocked the editor for the combination of promotional editing with a promotional username implying shared use – which includes several years of undisclosed paid contributions (the editor claims to be "a boutique creative service company catered to various brands in the nightlife industry"). I see no reason to believe that this page is not more of the same, although no disclosure has been made, and thus a violation of our Terms of Use. Note: I've had to remove a good deal of the content from it, as it was copied directly from the sources. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:11, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

- Delete - I'm struggling to assess all of the sources, even with Google translate, but I'm not seeing evidence of passing GNG. And simply on the basis of the content of the article, there doesn't seem to be anything that would amount to notability. No major films or TV series, and a relatively minor award. Hug 17:47, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Keep - According to WP:Notability, "Notability is based on the existence of suitable sources, not on the state of sourcing in an article". Submitted sources of the article are genuine and all from printed media in malayalam language. 'The award' was presented to K. Narayanan about 12 years ago. Now, it is not possible to obtain its original links or sources. Because, the online editions started in Malayalam printed media (Daily & Other) before just 5 or 6 years ago. But, the detail of the award achievement is mentioned in the sources which are included the article. Kaitha Poo Manam (talk) 19:28, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

- This article created with WP:Identifying and using independent sources and there are mainly 5 or more independent sources here. These sources are strongly discussing and indicating about Mr. Narayanan and his personal life and his film career. And, WP:Notability (people) says that,if the person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors is considerable for the notability of Misplaced Pages. Here, Narayanan has enough notability through with many reliable and independent sources. As per this, keep this article here. Kaitha Poo Manam (talk) 08:48, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

- WP:Notability underlined that, "Determining notability does not necessarily depend on things such as fame, importance, or popularity..." This article follows Basic criteria with WP:Notability (people). Basic criteria says that "People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject." And, Basic criteria also says that, "People who meet the basic criteria may be considered notable without meeting the additional criteria below."Kaitha Poo Manam (talk) 18:02, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- If follows Basic criteria about an article For people, doesn't matter Additional criteria of WP:Notability (people) for a biographical article. So, this criteria, "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times" in Additional criteria, Any biography section is not relevant here. Because, this article is not related with Any biography section. It comes in Creative professionals section. In Creative professionals section, this article follows one criteria, "The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors." Kaitha Poo Manam (talk) 18:23, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- WP:Notability says that "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list" and in Notability is not temporary section of WP:Notability says that "Notability is not temporary; once a topic has been the subject of "significant coverage" in accordance with the general notability guideline, it does not need to have ongoing coverage." Here, Mr. Narayanan has got enough significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources. Kaitha Poo Manam (talk) 18:49, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

Deleteunfortunately as does not yet have any prominent roles in notable productions with only minor roles or short films credits so does not pass WP:NACTOR at this stage and being a member of an orchestra is not sufficient for the music inclusion guidelines but may be notable in the future if better roles are secured, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 01:13, 23 December 2019 (UTC) Changed to neutral as explained in later comment Atlantic306 (talk) 03:50, 26 December 2019 (UTC)- Keep John Pack Lambert , isn't the question supposed to be, "Do such sources exist?", not "Are there such sources within the article?" (did you do a Google search on her? What did you find?). And Atlantic306: Passing WP:NACTOR or any other guideline is only a measure of inclusion, not exclusion, and NOT meeting a guideline is not usually grounds for deletion. The question, as I understand it, is this: is the subject covered non-trivially in multiple reliable independent published sources (whether or not included in the actual article)? Did either of you check this? If you did, I think you might be surprised! Also: isn't the Hollywood FAME award evidence of her notability? Also, consider this article on her. A loose necktie (talk) 01:15, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
- Comment @A loose necktie: I see that you created this article. If you are aware of other reliable sources with coverage about this person, it would be useful if you could add them to the article, or at least add links here, rather than saying we might be surprised if we checked. I have been trying to check, and so far I have not found a great deal. In 1997, the Los Angeles Times said that she "made a valiant reading of the difficult Menotti aria" in a performance called "Haunted Cabaret" ; in 2004, she was a member of a satirical anti-Bush group Billionaires for Bush . Neither of those contributes to notability. This article in International Musician is the most significant coverage I've found. I am not sure that it would count as independent, though, as the article is a "Member Profile", indicating that Linhardt is a member of the association of which this is the official journal. However, it gives some information about her education ("graduated in music and vocal arts from the University of Southern California", though with no dates), and some of the groups she has performed in, places she has appeared, etc, which could be (1) added to the article and (2) used in searches to find additional information. She has performed in Germany, so there may well be more German sources. It's not clear that Skope magazine, which has the article you linked to above, is a reliable source, and the article seems rather promotional and makes rather exaggerated, unsubstantiated claims (eg "Her “Classics To Cabaret” show is a favorite among European Royalty and diplomats"). Some of the info in it could be used to search for additional sources, though. As notability is WP:NOTINHERITED, it is not relevant to her notability to mention that she met famous people. So far I am not seeing enough coverage or enough notable performances for her to meet notability guidelines - it would be helpful if you could add more independent, reliable sources. RebeccaGreen (talk) 07:28, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, what about this, this, and the multiple newspaper clippings shown here? A loose necktie (talk) 15:22, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, those two links seem to be a members profile addition and a university aluminus report but the press clippings look more independent so I' m changing to neutral, but the Hollywood Fame awards don't seem to have an article assuming they are not Fans of Adult Media and Entertainment Award, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 03:49, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Which they are not, of course! They are part of the LA Music Awards as the Hollywood Film, Art, Music, and Entertainment awards. Thank you for changing your vote. A loose necktie (talk) 13:18, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you, A loose necktie. The International Musician profile I had already linked to above - it's a member profile, so not independent. The University of Southern California notice is not independent either, as she studied there. The Hollywood FAME award does not seem to be notable itself, so is not an indication of notability for her. The articles in the Press page of the Circus Sanctuary website do appear to be independent and reliable, and should be added as individual references to the article, with the information they contain. They may be enough for her either to meet WP:GNG, or to show that she meets one or more criteria of WP:MUSICBIO, but at the moment, it's not enough to show that sources exist, as there is no clear claim of notability as recognised by Misplaced Pages notability guidelines. If this AfD is not relisted, I would suggest that this article be draftified, so that the information and sources can be included. RebeccaGreen (talk) 14:23, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

- I have now added some German language sources. Along with those in English, I believe I have now met the minimum requirements for article sourcing. I would rather not have the article moved to draft space, and would rather it simply be deleted if others do not agree that the subject meets the WP:GNG by virtue of having been the subject of non-trivial discussion in multiple reliable independent published sources (whether in the article yet or not). - Is that your honest opinion? Okay... Then how many sources ARE enough, NotButtigieg? Also, what is "appearingly early(ish)"? If you mean you don't think she's had a long enough career yet, isn't that basically WP:ITSTOONEW argumentation? And quickly, for Sandstein: I see you have relisted this for further discussion. Given that it had already been listed once and that a decision to delete did not appear to have community consensus while a clear decision to keep was also not there, couldn't you have called it a no-consensus keep and saved the community further discussion time? Just a thought. Thanks! A loose necktie (talk)
- In response, I made a more thorough search and can see very little indication of notability.NotButtigieg (talk) 15:56, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Keep There definitely seem to be enough independent sources to qualify as notable under GNG. I don't agree that "International Musician" is not an independent source, the profile is a news article in the official journal of an 80,000 member union, this does not constitute a "close affiliation". I'll try to incorporate some of the additional sources into the article in the next day or so.

- Redirect to Return of the Mack#Nevada version. It is unusual for a cover version to be notable but the performer not; but it is not impossible, and this is such a case. Notability is not WP:INHERITed. There is no evidence at all that Nevada gets anywhere near passing WP:GNG, WP:NBIO or WP:NMUSICIAN. Narky Blert (talk) 18:42, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- Redirect to Return of the Mack#Nevada version. Our guidelines indicate that an artist who has a release that reaches the charts and/or shifts a lot of units is likely to be notable. However, in this case, the release is a cover of a song which is notable, and the original artist, who is notable, appears on the cover. When looking for reliable sources I found little which dealt with Nevada in depth, though I found this which talks about Nevada's cover in terms of the original artist, Mark Morrison, which underscores that it is the song and the original artist which appear to be the notable aspects here. - Redirect to the Governor of Wisconsin Tony Evers. Non-notable person. Lightburst (talk) 23:52, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete, without prejudice against recreation of a redirect to Tony. "First lady" at the state level is not an inherently notable role that guarantees an article to every spouse of a state governor — the national first lady gets that, but state first ladies are only notable if they get over a regular notability criterion on their own activities independently of who they happen to be married to. But this features entirely too much primary and unreliable sourcing (Twitter tweets are a no-no), and not nearly enough of the reliable kind: even the real media sources mostly aren't about her, but merely mention her name in the process of being about Tony. Accordingly, a bit of content about her in Tony's article would be perfectly appropriate, but the substance and sourcing here don't rise to the level of earning her a standalone BLP separately from him. Bearcat (talk) 15:54, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Weak keep. There are articles about the subject in RS not currently used in the article that a WP:BEFORE turns up. See the articles in WKOW on her dementia work; Heavy for general coverage; WISN on helping children and the elderly; the Associated Press stated she was the one "who led the state’s efforts to mark the anniversary" of her state marking the 100th anniversary of adopting the 19th amendment; and she's worked with the Wisconsin Historical Society for events. --Kbabej (talk) 17:55, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- Kbabej, that's all pretty weak, hence why I did BEFORE and nominated anyway. Those articles don't provide any biographical information about her, other than verifying that she is the first lady of Wisconsin. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:02, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete for now. It's possible that she will get more coverage during her term as first lady, but what she has received so far does not amount to WP:SIGCOV. Even "Kathy Evers, Tony Evers' Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know", which is in the article as a source, is mostly about him, not her. I found a few other pieces of coverage, but they are minimal - she chaired the committee organising the celebration of the 100th anniversary in 2019 of Wisconsin ratifying the amendment giving women the right to vote (the first state to do so), but all that's reported of the major events is that the ceremony included "comments from first lady Kathy Evers, who led the state's efforts to mark the centenary". WAOW and WSAU (AM) did a story on her visiting schools to mark the centenary , . I found one news story about the 2018 Warren-Baldwin rally in Wisconsin that says "Kathy Evers, the wife of state Superintended Tony Evers, who is challenging Gov. Scott Walker, introduced Baldwin at the rally". Very little about her, with not even her comments reported, often. Possibly WP:TOOSOON. RebeccaGreen (talk) 09:07, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
- Comment Some of the spouses of the United States state governors are notable; Betty Cooper Hearnes was married to Missouri Governor Warren Hearnes. Betty Cooper Hearnes served in the Missouri General Assembly and would be notable. Lurleen Wallace wife of Alabama Governor George Wallace is another example; Lurleen Wallace served as Governor of Alabama and died from cancer while still in office. I agree with User:RebeccaGreen that the article about Kathy Evers would be too soon. Consequently, I wanted to give examples that some spouses of United States state governors are notable in their own right. Thank you-RFD (talk) 13:30, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

- Delete The above comments are puzzling. What sources actually demonstrate that this person is notable? (noting that WP:SOLDIER is an essay). From Googling his name, he's attracted virtually no coverage outside of US military websites. The modern US military has large numbers of generals, and not all attract any interest outside of it. Edens' most prominent role seems to have been Commanding General and Director of Army Safety at the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center which is obviously not a very high-profile role outside of the Army. Nick-D (talk) 22:09, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- It's an essay that is almost invariably accepted as a notability standard by those writing military bios on Misplaced Pages. Generals are notable. This is a longstanding and accepted standard. So nothing puzzling about it. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:19, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- That's not actually the case - the recent discussion at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Military history/Archive 152#Commodores and brigadiers revealed that a lot of editors who specialise in military history topics don't consider 1 star generals particularly notable. Moreover, WP:SOLDIER doesn't say that generals are automatically notable - it tates that "It is presumed that individuals will almost always have sufficient coverage to qualify" if they're a general, not that generals are automatically notable. From searching, I couldn't find independent sources to establish notability here. I'd ask that you and the editors who voted keep demonstrate the references which they think establish notability, and this should help to develop this article. Weak deleteThe book has about 350 citations, and he has two articles with over 100 citations. That looks a bit marginal, but between that and the media attention from the insects-on-mars affair, there might well be enough notability for a keep vote. My weak delete is per WP:BIODEL, where I'm interpreting the fact that he's set his webpage to private and stopped taking interview requests to mean that he'd likely also prefer not to have a Misplaced Pages page discussing his insects-on-mars poster. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 13:23, 17 December 2019 (UTC)- Weak delete. As further evidence of a preference for privacy (whether on the subject or his institution's part) when I search for this incident I get stories about the university retracting the press release . - Comment I'm looking to build a consensus: The arguments for deletion (like my own) are that he's marginally notable, and may prefer not to have a Misplaced Pages article at this time. The argument for keep is that he's notable, perhaps marginally. Notability in both cases is mostly due to his textbook, supported by his articles and book chapters. Since we don't actually have a preference from the subject, perhaps we should agree to keep, but speedily delete upon request from the subject? Russ Woodroofe (talk) 13:18, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Fails GNG. Her claim to notability arises from being "Senior Program Advisor" at Pathfinder International, all other positions being run of the mill jobs in different organizations. On further inspection, PI doesn't list her in their Staff section, so in fact one could consider her role as advisor a minor one, or at least one that is not essential enough to be described online. That said, I did investigate and could not find independent sources apart from this one, which just mentions her role at PI in passing, and is a publication to which she's contributed in the past. Also found speaking engagements such as this one, which are obviously insufficient for establishing notability. Edit: for anyone wondering about her ACADEMIC credentials, she has a handful of published articles, each with 3 citations at most. PK650 (talk) 05:21, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

What a mess. Appears to have been moved from AfC by 2 (now) blocked editors. Was thinking of doing an A7, but decided to bring to AfD to get a broader view. A WP:BEFORE gives no real RS on her outside of blogs/instagram accounts/commercial art sites (luckily, her name gives a very distinctive search term). I can't see any case for GNG here. There are claims in the article that she was a "director" on various Estonian realty tv-shows, but I can't find much on her, and I think she was probably one of several directors on these programs. People do not get Misplaced Pages articles just for being candidates in elections they did not win — the notability test at WP:NPOL is holding a notable political office, not just running for one. But this does not demonstrate that she has preexisting notability for other reasons that would have gotten her an article independently of the candidacy, and is not referenced to anything even remotely approaching the depth and range and volume of coverage she would have to have to make her candidacy more special than everybody else's candidacies. Doesn't appear to be notable at all. The only relevant Google result is this very article, suggesting a lack of reliable sources (or sources, period) about Berke other than the mere five already cited in the article. Also worth noting that not only is there a conflict of interest here, as the article was created by the late subject himself, but according to this comment he made, he apparently "want story to mean something after gone" and "hope little notoriety as a transgendered person help to be heard on way out from this world" - not a very good reason to create an article on yourself, wouldn't you agree? - Franz is an elected official who has had far more regional coverage. An appointee like Millar rarely gets a full profile or interview in a reliable source. SounderBruce 04:02, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- While Franz may be elected and Millar appointed, they receive about the same coverage from local sources. (Seattle Times, local TV stations, etc.) Franz hardly has a "national" profile. KidAd (talk) 04:00, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete, without prejudice against recreation in the future if and when somebody can write and source something much better than this. At the state level, nationalizing coverage is not as essential as it is at the municipal level — it certainly wouldn't hurt if there were some, but at the state level of office there's no inherent requirement for there to be any. What's more determinative here, rather, is that three of the four footnotes are primary sources that are not support for notability at all, with just one piece of real, notability-supporting reliable source media coverage shown at all. This is a role where an article would be fine if you could get him over WP:GNG on the quality and depth of sourcing, not an "inherently" notable role for which he would be entitled to keep an article that has to depend almost entirely on primary sources — but on a Google search, I'm not seeing any real evidence that Millar has equivalent coverage to Hilary Franz: I'm seeing a lot of sources that glancingly namecheck his existence in the context of being about transportation projects in the state, but not a lot of sources that are about him for the purposes of establishing his notability. I will note that his predecessor, Lynn Peterson, does not have an article at all — I've only been able to find one earlier holder of this role who does have an article, Sid Morrison, and he has an article for having been a member of the United States House of Representatives, not for this role per se. This role would be enough if the sourcing were better — but it's not a role where it would be so critically important to keep an article about him that he would be exempted from having to show better sources than this. Bearcat (talk) 14:37, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Bearcat, the question I have is whether appointed state level cabinet officials are "generally regarded as notable" (see WP:POLOUTCOMES #1) or is the standard you are proposing the "article should say more than just "Jane Doe is the mayor of Cityville"" (WP:POLOUTCOMES #2). If the former, then the article should be kept (as it is unquestioned that the subject holds a cabinet position in the Washington State government). If the latter, I am finding a bunch of sources about the subject around the time of his appointment (August 2016) (e.g. this Seattle Times article or this article from the Everett Herald). --Enos733 (talk) 18:37, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

There is no question the subject serves is the state's Secretary of Transportation (and a member of the State's executive cabinet). Disputed PROD. Mayor of a minor suburban city (ranked 12th in the Seattle metro area by population) who has not held another office. Keep as page creatorI think User:SounderBruce makes a clear enough case for the subject's notability. National coverage for a major event? Only ten Seattle Times mentions? KidAd (talk) 04:10, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
I would also appreciate a source for the "12th-largest city in the Seattle Metro area". Per this, it only reveals that Lakewood is not one of four major cities in the Seattle metro area. KidAd (talk) 04:22, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- WP:BIO1E makes your point about national coverage moot, as it was not sustained and ultimately not directly connected to him. I'm going off the 2018 Census estimate, which can be easily parsed from List of cities in Washington. SounderBruce 04:54, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Then local and regional coverage will have to do. 10 Seattle Times mentions isn't nothing. And per WP:POLOUTCOMES, "Municipal politicians are not inherently notable just for being in politics, but neither are they inherently non-notable just because they are in local politics. Each case is evaluated on its own individual merits. Mayors of cities of at least regional prominence have usually survived AFD, although the article should say more than just "Jane Doe is the mayor of Cityville". Mayors of smaller towns, however, are generally deemed not notable just for being mayors, although they may be notable for other reasons in addition to their mayoralty" Using this metric, Anderson should survive AFD because the article states more than "Don Anderson is the Mayor of Lakewood"; it also mentions his "other reasons" (i.e. the train crash) KidAd (talk) 05:05, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete - fails GNG, as interpreted by NPOL. He's a local politician with no sustained widespread coverage for anything else (except commenting on a disaster, which does not show notability), and the nature of his political career does not rise to the level any presumption of notability would occur. It doesn't matter in the slightest how much his political career is covered in Seattle. It isn't anywhere else, and being the mayor of a suburb is not an automatic notability pass. Sorry our new colleague is having trouble understanding this, but unless this fella climbs higher on the political pole, he's not going to have a chance for a Misplaced Pages bio. John from Idegon (talk) 05:20, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- If I am the "new colleague" you're referring to, I would like to point out that I have been editing Misplaced Pages for several years, and exactly two with a registered account. While I respect your opinion, I do not appreciate your condescension. KidAd (talk) 05:32, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete. Lakewood is not large enough to hand all of its mayors an automatic presumption of notability just because they exist, but the sourcing here is not rising to the level necessary to get him over the bar. The existence of a few hits of local media coverage is not automatically enough to get a mayor over the bar — every mayor of everywhere can always show some evidence of purely local coverage, so if that were all it took then we would always have to keep an article about every mayor who exists, and no mayor would ever fall below the notability bar anymore. Which is why we have a longstanding consensus that mayors of smaller towns and cities have to show evidence of nationalized significance to qualify for articles — but the very small amount of "nationalized" coverage shown here isn't sufficient to demonstrate that — it's about a train derailment and just includes Anderson giving soundbite, which is not the same thing as coverage that has Anderson as its subject. The key to making a mayor notable enough for a Misplaced Pages article is to document the importance of his mayoralty, not just the existence of it — and if a mayor has just eight footnotes of which two are primary sources that aren't support for notability at all, three are routine verification of election results, and three are not about him but just mention his name in the context of being about a non-political event that happened in the city, then he's falling on the wrong side of that distinction. Bearcat (talk) 14:00, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- Delete some cities of 58,000 are major regional centers. Lakewood is not the largest city in its county, and even the largest city Tacoma, is overshadowed by the true heart of the urban region, Seattle. Lakewood is not even a regionally significant city, so by no measure is the mayor going to be default notable. The sourcing is atrocious otherwise.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:26, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

The article needs some revisions, but not deletion. As for notability , she is covered in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, and we always consider that people covered in the standard national encyclopedias are notable. For some reason, this reference was not carried over into the enWP, but I added it. People's Artist of the USSR (1967). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1970) are more than sufficient to confirm the notability. This was created in 2015 describing the living person as an "alleged crime-boss" inter alia. It had a single source at the time, which did not substantiate those allegations. It still has the same single source now, which still does not substantiate those allegations. This is after I removed a number of sources which were not about the subject, some of which did not mention the subject, recently, after a complaint at WP:BLPN. I therefore described the original as an attack page. With or without the removal of the additional sources, there are not enough sources for the subject to pass WP:GNG nor WP:BIO. I considered nominating this for CSD WP:G4, but the previous AFD was almost ten years ago, and I have no idea if the article content is substantially similar, so perhaps it's better to bring this to AFD for consideration. I essentially agree with the previous nominator, and I don't believe anything has changed since then. This is a borderline WP:BLP1E and WP:PERP fail, with the obvious caveat that she is known for two things. However, it is still really no more than a case of someone having 15 minutes of fame for one trivial curiosity, and then briefly raising to public consciousness again because an otherwise fairly unremarkable robbery-murder happened to be committed by someone who had previously been a media curiosity, and the press can never resist that. - Keep WP:GNG is easily met with multiple WP:RSs. The nominator ignores our guidelines for WP:N and WP:V and makes a vague wave at a WP:BLP1E claim which clearly does not apply...I am sure the nominator knows that WP:BLP2E does not exist. The rationale seems to be someone didn't like it before, so WP:IDONTLIKEIT now. FYI: The subject was world famous for her medical condition, and then again world famous for her crime. We keep articles which meet the heavier burden of WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV. See: Juli Briskman AfD which I argued against keeping - I was wrong. Jennifer Mee has been in the news more than 10 years with WP:CONTINUEDCOVERAGE. She has received international coverage in reliable sources. This is an easy keep. Lightburst (talk) 15:10, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
KeepWP:GNG is easily met. Indeed, Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Jennifer Mee and Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Jennifer Mee (2nd nomination) establish that yet again. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 15:56, 13 December 2019 (UTC)- How does the 2nd nomination establish "yet again" that GNG is easily met, when the 2nd nomination ended in delete consensus? – Levivich 17:45, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
- I improved sourcing — no longer the article it was when first nominated for deletion — and WP:Hey applies. Given the present sourcing, WP:Notability established by multiple WP:RS. Q.E.D., WP:Before was clearly violated; you are supposed to do a search, and nominate ONLY when the article is unsalvageable. WP:Preserve WP:Not paper WP:I don't like it is no justification for this time waster. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 14:16, 14 December 2019 (UTC)

- Keep, but it's not SNOW – Pardon me for saying so, but the four keep !votes above should be tossed, and I'm happy to elaborate on that on my talk page. Here's a real keep !vote, one with sources: the article subject meets WP:BASIC per St Petersburg Times via Chicago Tribune 2007, AFP via NYT 2007, NYT 2010, The Telegraph (UK) 2010, ABA Journal 2010, ABA Journal 2013, AP via People 2013 , and One Breath Away, a 448-page true crime book written by M. William Phelps and published by Kensington Books in 2016. The 2nd nomination resulted in delete, but it was written in 2010, and we now have a number of new RSes with which to write an article, including the full-length book. – Levivich 18:45, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
- Comment User:Levivich It is nice that you voted "!keep". I appreciate your research. You proved what we knew: that there was no compliance with WP:Before. However, your gratuitous slap is unwelcome. unbecoming, unhelpful, uncivil and wrong. Keep your views about other editors's votes to yourself. I, for one, would never disparage your conduct or vote. I WP:AGF, which is something that you should reacquaint yourself. That being said, it would be nice if you actually added to the article (these sources would help), and didn't just drive by and flag wave sources at the AFD. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 19:10, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

- Keep passes the minimum requirements for WP:ANYBIO. Also thanking the nominator for bringing this here, however it turns out, as they have allowed us to establish a consensus one way or the other, an opportunity which would have been lost if they had taken the "easy option" and tagged G4. I also note that the only editors who actually (in the vernacular) "toss" !votes are the closing admin; yet, when they do, they studiously avoid using loaded, pergorative terms such as that :) ——SN54129 20:53, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

- Creffett For your first question I believe the article isn’t sufficient enough per WP:GNG I don’t see any WP:INDEPTH sigcov originating in the article & as per your second comment, I commend your intelligence there because I didn’t notice that before but as you have pointed it out it explains the heavy disruptive edits that Zucc11cs was engaged in earlier on a different article(which was eventually speedy deleted)where he repeatedly removed maintainance tags without addressing the issues and also wrongly removed speedy delete tags. - Additionally, the two awards now in the article are a "Winston Churchill Trust Scholarship" and a PHD program writing award. The first, the "Winston Churchill Shcholarship" was actually a travel grant. The trust gives out fellowships as well; their site does not list her as a fellow. These are not a big deal. Extremely puffy promotional article with a dearth of sourcing. The sources given in the article are not reliable / independent, and on a search I'm not finding enough in-depth sources to pass WP:NACTOR, WP:NSPORT, or WP:GNG. The No.wiki article is similarly undersourced.
On a search, I found an article that described him as "relatively unknown" and stated that he appears in a "small role called 'Russian bodyguard'". The rest of it is mostly fluffy interview - "how was it on set?" etc. There's also two pieces in the (regional) Sorlandet edition of NPK that are basically the same kind of "Local boy wants to make it big in Hollywood" pieces - and .

Stisen has been in the limelight for more then 15 years, included two documentary about his life, he has done celebrity reality shows in Norway, at least two of the articles at NRK was the most read of the week in the whole country. He has more then 40 film credits over the last 5 years and he was among the top three most famous bodybuilders in Norway an decade ago. He is one of the leading roles in a new Netflix film. All this can proof thought links from major media pages I would like to provide asap and IMDB. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrMuscle007 (talk • contribs)
- Preserve - My name is James Keating and I am an Oxford-based author and 24-year veteran screenwriter. I've known Daniel Stisen for five-years and in that time, we've worked together on nine different films. I am very surprised that there is any question of his eligibility for a Misplaced Pages entry. Like I say, Daniel and I have collaborated many times, with him as the lead actor and in projects of considerable note. I would be happy to update his Wiki entry myself, accrediting and corroborating his latest achievements and also to reflect his current standing in the industry. I must start by drawing attention to a prominent article published only three-months ago, announcing him as the joint third lead in a Netflix film, by Oscar-winning producer Alain Depardieu, https://www.filmneweurope.com/news/romania-news/item/118660-production-original-netflix-production-back-2-back-shoots-in-Romania makeajesting (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:05, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
- James, you may want to read our conflict-of-interest guideline, which discourages the editing of articles where one has an off-wiki relationship with the subject. The article you linked is merely a production announcement that mentions the subject's name. It is not substantially about the subject and does not count as a reliable source for the purpose of showing notability. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 17:14, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for mentioning the COI. I'd like to add that, if we find sources that establish the subject's notability, it would be acceptable for User:Makeajesting to suggest additional sources on the article's talk page. Skeletor3000 (talk) 17:25, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

- Delete - I'm sorry, but while we have to assume that this was written in good faith, as an encyclopedia, Misplaced Pages does not publish original research. After 18 years, however, everyone should know what Misplaced Pages is, and what it is not. A 24-year-old is not a "veteran" even if one does have six films' experience. Now, if I were to cut out all of the original research in this essay, there would be very little to write a "stub" article. If you want me to edit it, please "ping" me, and I'll go ahead. Subject of the page is not notable, while there is normally a presumption under WP:NOTABLE that Significant Coverage presumes the source should have an article, it is worth noting that a lot of the content in here relates to the company Away, rather than this person. Now, as a poster child for the unicorn excesses and bad management, she's even more clearly notable. One of Misplaced Pages's most important functions is helping people learn about something or someone in the news, so at the very least any decision about notability should wait until we see how things settle after this current wave of press attention. - Weak keep - this is not so clear a case. One problem for finding coverage is that his name is, coincidentally, common in southeastern Asia. Goolging his name is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. There's a popular bartender/DJ in New Jersey named Cat Tjan, a writer named Mark Tian for a music insider guide, a beloved University of Southern California professor named Bosco Tjan whose murder made national news, and a documentary film producer in Upstate New York with a similar name. I found he was signed by Universal Music, was covered regularly by Nigeria's version of Entertainment Today, and lots of gossip rags that I won't deign to link. On the other hand, coverage of his nominations for awards are mere listings. I think he's barely there. Bearian (talk) 16:28, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
- That's all well and good, but how does that stack up against NMUSIC? Gossip rags are not reliable sources, being signed to a label doesn't establish notability, and are any of those nominations notable? PK650 (talk) 23:40, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hey, Bearian, I think PK650 is right and from your own observations and remarks it provides a good rationale for why the article should indeed be deleted. - Of the sources presented above, two are short event announcements, one is a photo gallery, and I am unsure as to the reliability of the other two (musicinafrica & thenet.ng). I am just not seeing "good coverage" in reliable sources. PK650 (talk) 23:03, 14 December 2019 (UTC)
- I have seen some problem with the sources. If someone can't get better sources, it might not be kept. I still have an open mind. Bearian (talk) 18:07, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
- The Tribune ref seems sig cov in a reliable source and his award and noms are covered in some of the others, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 23:50, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
- In any case the Tribune article would be one source, not significant coverage. Award nomination articles listing him among others is also not significant coverage. What needs to be determined is whether these Nigerian awards are evidence of notability, a fact which nobody here has been able to prove/disprove. PK650 (talk) 10:20, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

. In addition, I consider it poor form to fillet the article by deleting 5 of the 7 sources and then say it does not pass WP:GNG. The purpose of an AfD is for the participants to decide. We already know what the AfD nominator thinks and diminishing the content is poor form. I can add reliable sources to the article if the nominator can agree not to strip them out based on their preference for deletion. Lightburst (talk) 18:40, 13 December 2019 (UTC)- I'm awfully sorry that you consider it 'poor form'. However, I started working on removing the clearly non-reliable sources before eventually accepting that the article was better off going to AFD. Reverting all of my changes first seemed a little unnecessary. I knew someone would object, which is why I explicitly called it out in my nomination statement, included a link to a version of the article before I had touched it, and added a brief explanation of what I objected to in those sources. Knowing Misplaced Pages, I should have known that someone would still manage to get upset, but I don't think I'm going to lose any sleep over it. Hug 09:16, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
- Keep Medium.com is used as a reference in 862 Misplaced Pages articles. They gave her significant coverage and said she had a notable following of 400,000 followers on Instagram. Is there high for famous people? Does it count as a large cult following? She had ample coverage in FHM She meets WP:NMODEL. "Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions." Magazine covers would be considered "other production". She did have a significant role in these notable publications. Askmen is used in 174 Misplaced Pages articles. That seems like a reliable source giving her significant coverage as well. So the WP:GNG seem to have been met as well. Dream Focus 21:27, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

ミラP 00:58, 14 December 2019 (UTC) - It seems to me to be stretching the definition of WP:NMODEL almost to breaking point to suggest that a magazine cover is equivalent to a film, tv show or stage performance, or that it is what is meant by 'other productions'. The other examples in this criteria are all the subject of reviews, criticism and sometimes books or academic study, much of which is sustained long after the work is complete. Magazine covers are essentially throwaway items that are very rarely the subject of any secondary coverage at all, and using them to establish notability simply because they fit a technical definition of 'productions' is, honestly, absurd. Hug 09:16, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
- Dream Focus, you link to Medium and say "They" give her significant coverage. Who are "they"? Not Medium.com, surely. And are "they" a reliable source that confers notability? Weak delete:Delete:(allow draftification): The Zee News reference perhaps indicates honourable humanitarian altruism by the subject in provision of free treatments, and that is perhaps consistent with the Times of India. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 11:08, 7 December 2019 (UTC)- To expand further with my current reasoning. My delete !vote stands until both of two aspects are satisified: firstly the article is developed to give more body to the article beyond a dictionary entry of appointments and awards ... in this aspect my delete !vote would be weak as sources have been identified which would probably enable an editor with some sort skill level to body-up this particular article. The other aspect to be satisfied is notability. This could be sated by presenting a persuasive WP:THREE below of WP:RS for WP:GNG. Alternatively notability per WP:NACADEMIC (2) the Padmi Shri being determined by consensus to be "almost always a de-facto indicator of notability" to be achieved by account of reasoned arguments, particularly when related to practice for other countries, and when shown not simply awarded due the to the Old boy network. These arguments are now spread to an extent across 4 AfD's, a DRV and even Misplaced Pages talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Is Padma Shri a major award?. - Comment: If you are talking about a WP:GNG notability claim per WP:THREE the decision will reset on the best WP:RS sources ... that is quality and not a quantity of this hat or the other: We have just had presented as a top three, if I have it correct (especially my interpretation of the Zeenews Hindi article and author; correct and explain if necessary), of:
- Banerjee, Dr. Kalyan (5 April 2019). "किडनी, थायरायड के मरीजों के लिए होम्योपैथी चिकित्सा फायदेमंद : डॉ. कल्याण बनर्जी" . Zeenews (in Hindi).
- Thacker, Teena (10 October 2017). "Government to bar homeopathic doctors from selling medicines". Hindustan times.
- TNN (25 January 2009). "8 docs among 26 Padma awardees". Times of India. Dr Kalyan Banerjee.
- My best understanding is (Banerjee,2019) fails on self publication; (Thacker,2017) is a passing mention but in my view (TNN|2009) may pass as a WP:RS. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 17:13, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

One former member crashed at the house I shared with other students back in the 1990s, until he was evicted for not paying rent. Even The Big Bang Theory had a joke about that phenomenon. - Delete - This article may be an attempted promotion and it also exaggerates some facts. He was not a member of the Black Crowes but was instead with their predecessor band Mr. Crowe's Garden. Therefore a merge or redirect to the Black Crowes is nonsensical. He is indeed a longtime member of the notable Drivin n Cryin, but most of the collaborations and tours listed here for Sullivan were actually the activities of the band. He has done a few collaborations outside the band, but I can find no reliable coverage to indicate that those activities are notable. A redirect to Drivin N Cryin might be feasible if within policy. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 15:15, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

- Keep - There are Notable collaborations from this artist outside of his work with Drivin N Cryin, such as session work with Peter Buck, Warren Haynes, The Black Crowes (where he is also referenced here and here) and Nikki Sudden. These are cited on the entry and being that these collaborations started in the late 1980's not all media coverage has been digitized and searchable. Sullivan also has some Composer Notability with 36 composer credits to his credit including 2 for Major Movie releases. Please reconsider the AfD status, given his meeting Notability Criteria and in context with the individual pages of his bandmates and peers for which his Notability and references exceed. If the article is too promotional in tone and more encyclopedic page can be developed. Thank you.Dncac (talk) 04:21, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

WP:BLP1E The only notable coverage in reliable sources seems to be about him not dying in an airstrike where some of his family was killed. Phil (talk) 23:28, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

- Comment – I note that there are many search results of his name in Arabic. I cannot judge the amount of significant coverage available because of my language barrier. A review of sources per WP:GNG should include a search for sources in Arabic and in Hebrew. --- C&C (Coffeeandcrumbs) 23:47, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Redirect and Merge with Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, I see little evidence of independent notability but that could very well change. Horse Eye Jack (talk) 23:54, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Keep. Looking at the sources from the Arabic Misplaced Pages article, I think they constitute significant coverage. Russia Today calls him "the strongest figure within the Islamic Jihad movement". Al-Khaleej calls him "head of the military branch of Islamic Jihad." And al-Sharq al-Awsat covers his ties with Iran. 90% of the articles about him are from the last month, but I don't think he falls under BLP1E becasue he got some coverage in 2018 for being elected to the political bureau of PIJ (e.g. ). --Cerebellum (talk) 13:00, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Fails WP:NAUTHOR. Coverage that might meet WP:GNG is based on the Telegraph India article, which I do not think is independent and the prabhatkhabar.com article (for the latter, I have not registered and I cannot read Hindi). The remainder of the sources are either dead links or are blogs.
The Ford campaign doesn't help establish notability - people 'participated in huge numbers' because 'gratification of Rs 1 lakh also acted as a bait for the people across the social media platforms to participate in the campaign.'
The Padma Shri nomination doesn't help establish notability - anyone can nominate anyone. I can't see that Aikat comes even close to the selection criteria which call for 'distinguished and exceptional achievements/service' and 'a lifetime of achievement'.

- Keep. Competed in the 2nd Chess Olympiad in 1928 as a member of the Italian national team and deletion would turn a blue link on the Chess Olympiad page into a red link
, making him the only participant without a page.. Article has sources. Removal would not improve the encyclopedia in any way and would be antagonistic to the goal to build the web. Quale (talk) 07:33, 3 December 2019 (UTC)- Quale, MOS:BUILD aims at
allowing readers to deepen their understanding of a topic by conveniently accessing other articles
. However, this is a person whose only notable relationship with Chess was playing in that olympiad. So, the standalone article provides no additional useful information. Red links of non-notable subjects are corrected by removing the link altogether. Sources in the article have matches listed, almost all rated games are recorded, that's bordering on indiscriminate information, there's literally nothing to build a biography with. NCHESS specifically mentions chess olympiad and says one must win a medal to be presumed notable. Moreover, as a player whose career is already over, GNG is a reasonable expectation. This is a person who played one olympiad and quit chess altogether and did other normal people stuff his whole life. Mention of his name in the squad for said olympiad is all the required understanding on the subject that we need. All other claims made in the article are unsupported, as none of the sources even write one sentence of prose on him. Usedtobecool ✨ 09:23, 3 December 2019 (UTC)- What are you talking about? Please explain to me how it does not deepen the reader's understanding of the the 2nd Chess Olympiad to be able to learn more about the participants, including those competing for the Italian team. And who are you to tell me or anyone else what is all the information I or we need about a chess olympiad competitor? I understand that you have no interest in the chess olympiads and probably no interest in chess either, but although WP:IJUSTDONTLIKEIT is a great reason for you to not read articles about chess, it is not a good reason to delete those articles. Many people do only one encyclopedically notable thing in their lives, but as it happens, one is enough. In this case that one thing was playing as a member of a national team in the top international team competition in a sport. Finally, WP:NCHESS is total crap, but that certainly isn't your fault. The Italian wikipedia article lists an Italian chess encyclopedia as a source, and likely this could be used to source most of the article. Quale (talk) 00:11, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
- Quale, please do not misrepresent my position to suit your refutation needs (see Straw man), or engage in divining my affiliations or my motives (see Ad hominem or even WP:NPA).
- At the risk of repeating myself, the article does not further the understanding on the subject because the only bit of verifiable information presented there are the matches played by the subject, of which only Olympiad matches are of note which are best covered in the Olympiad article. It is difficult to presume notability in absence of WP:SIGCOV such as we do in case of rising players or players not yet retired because the player retired almost a hundred years ago, and other than participating in that one olympiad, went on to do normal people things. Olympiad participation is not enough to confer notability according to WP:NCHESS which I find very reasonable. I will leave you to ponder the irony of your linking WP:IDLI in a comment which goes on to say
WP:NCHESS is total crap

- Delete – No other sources that pass WP:SIGCOV found by WP:BEFORE searches. Don't want to reiterate nom's points, but sources in article are all statistics pages that don't pass WP:GNG, don't address subject directly enough to not need original research to extract content. Yes, there's a book cited in the Italian Misplaced Pages, but it's only one source and doesn't pass the multiple requirement of GNG. Removal would help Misplaced Pages by preventing it from resembling an indiscriminate collection of information. UnnamedUser (talk) 03:32, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

The result was keep. Although GNG was never specifically mentioned, it appears from the keep arguments that it is likely to meet that guideline. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 14:31, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

PROD declined, there's no indication that Peake is notable per the biographical or general notability guidelines because of a lack of significant coverage in independent, reliable sources. The "silver commendation" alone is not enough to establish notability. SITH (talk) 12:49, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

- Comment: Although the present article text's focus on student work contains little to suggest notability, the subject may be more prominent as an artist/illustrator: 2005 exhibition article, 2016 exhibition article. His career to date probably falls short of WP:NARTIST but it is another angle worth taking into account so I am tagging the Visual Arts project. AllyD (talk) 16:29, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

- Keep I agree with AllyD that there is evidence that he is better known as an artist, in various media. Architectural Digest had an article about his tableware designs ; Wall Street Journal covered his wallpaper and his crystal glassware , which was also covered in Wallpaper* , Interior Design and Surface magazine . There are a lot of other Google News results too. I think it will be worth checking if his works are held in the permanent collections of any galleries. Given that this article is new, it's surprising that it doesn't mention any of this - but it should certainly be added. RebeccaGreen (talk) 12:02, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
