It's a good idea to give a user at least one warning, unless it's a pretty egregious vandalism spree that needs to be nipped in the bud quickly. I'd reverted this edit, as it was unsourced. We can't tell people to go and find a source themselves. Although citing social media is generally avoided, because it is not the most reliable of sources, but if you must, please use Template:Cite web to fill in a citation.
