Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Current requests for protection

Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    Medical tourism (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-Protection. Lot of external commerical links being added by unregistered users. Please semi-protect. Corpx 21:42, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 21:46, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Star Trek: Legacy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

people seem to think that the opinion that the game sucked must be blatantly added to the article. Madd the sane 21:41, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 21:45, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Fish (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Recieving large amounts of vandalism every day from anonymous IPs.¤~Persian Poet Gal 20:17, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 21:44, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Fly like a Raven (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

This is a page about a forthcoming album by Raven-Symoné. It is constantly being reverted by unregistered users to include information that is rumored and unconfirmed by Hollywood Records. My requests to have these users' IPs blocked has been ignored, but I think that protecting the page may help the situation. Rhythmnation2004 18:03, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 18:49, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Iranian sex tape scandal (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) and Zahra Amir Ebrahimi (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi Both articles suffering a wave of blanking from numerous anonymous editors (though I suspect it's one on multiple ISPs) and one named editor (Niki666), now blocked). Ford MF 16:44, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Semi-protected both due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 18:47, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Box set (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi: A named editor and an anon have blanked this article with a redir and copied it to Box Set (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), as well as changed the redirect at Boxed set (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). Twice in the past day. Of course this loses all the edit history of the original.

The correct name is "Box set", per a move request made by an admin after proposed in talk. Thanks. --*Spark* 13:51, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 18:44, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Mark Bourrie (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Mark Bourrie and Warren Kinsella are two Canadian bloggers who edit each others' articles maliciously from IP addresses. Warren Kinsella has been sprotected for quite awhile. It is apparent that Mark Bourrie needs to be protected as well. I applied sprotection, but I have also edited the article, and since the former named editors have left, someone needs to maintain these articles, so I shouldn't also be applying protections. Request an uninvolved admin re-apply the protection so its not in my name. (See also Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Warren Kinsella and Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Rachel Marsden. Thatcher131 09:40, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Talk:Cold fusion (edit | article | history | links | watch | logs)

    Semi-protection. Long-term, on-going link spam vandalism from multiple, single-use ip addresses. Ronnotel 06:07, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 18:40, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Serial_Box (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. There is a link to a site which is the host of the file the article is about. The link is being removed, and readded over and over by pro and anti shareware piracy advocates. The link's existence is important with regard to the definition of the subject matter. --Bshrode 06:04, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

How would semi-protection help, seeing as the people reverting are not anons, but long-time contributors? -Amarkov edits 06:07, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

I suppose then Full-Protection may be more beneficial to end the initial edit war. Any other suggestions on how to put an end to this? --Bshrode 06:23, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Protection isn't necessary here. It's lightweight vandalism and it's been handled so far. (I won't decline this request, because I've been one of the users removing the link.) | Mr. Darcy talk 15:13, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Golan Cipel (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. I don't even know what this article is supposed to be about, but I just followed a vandal over here and noticed that vandal and others have been going nuts here the last couple days. Needs time to chill out and get back to a pre-vandalized state. — coelacan talk05:36, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Update: I'm no longer certain that it's vandalism on all sides, at least one appears to be removing large chunks of text, I can't discern exactly what the others are up to. In any case though it is an edit war of some kind among anonymouses, and semi-protection would bring some stability while a decent synthesis can be cooked up. — coelacan talk06:03, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Golan Cipel was an important NJ state government official embroiled in the McGreevey sex scandal. Apparently, a bunch of anons rewrote the article. The article version that I reverted to was the original version of the article before the IP vandals came. Nishkid64 18:37, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. I was having a hard time deciding where to begin. — coelacan talk20:44, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

unprotection. The information in this article is not true and full of mistakes. The editing I made to the article is not vandalism.24.199.103.169 20:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello User:24.199.103.169. If you have constructive edits to make to the article, I have copied it to User:Coelacan/Golan Cipel where you can make any changes you feel appropriate (although please cite your sources) and when you are ready I will move the changes back to the main article. This will allow your changes to be made while avoiding the vandal attacks that have been going on lately. — coelacan talk20:44, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Trivium (band) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. This article gets vandalized almost everyday and is only getting more common. All from non-registered users. Please add protection to stop this. M3tal H3ad 04:50, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 18:33, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Greece (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

recent vandalism and bizarre photos added has meant the article is protected. Requesting un-protection for my reasons given at bottom of talk page ( lack of context in the central, now shortened history section). There was no dispute over content leading to its removal, just a suggestion of replication which I've discussed on the talk page.

I plead ignorance as to what the normal background rate is, but compared to other pages I am familiar with, a lot of time is being consumed combatting it. The most extreme example being today, when the entire page was deleted. Interestingly nearly every attack mentions cooking which makes me think it may be the same person - the same one as vandalised my user page. --Mgoodyear 23:33, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
