Welcome to Solipsist3's talk page. Feel free to read the friendly constructive criticism other users have written or add your own compliment.
Complaint #1
This was my first message from Tyrenius, now one of my best friends:
Please do not add nonsense to Misplaced Pages. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Tyrenius 03:43, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Ah, what memories!
The Patrick M. McCabe Drama
Sadly, this erudite article has ceased to exist, but you can still read these comments about the article.
You may have notice I nominated Patrick M. McCabe article for deletion. I can tell you're a big fan of this man's work, and I acknowledge the significant amount of time you've spent on Misplaced Pages spreading the word about him; however, I have serious doubts whether he's notable enough to merit an encyclopedia article. I could be wrong, so if you'd like, you can defend the existence of his article on this page.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 16:04, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- This is just a friendly warning about your comments on the AfD discussion for Patrick M. McCabe: please do not vote multiple times and do not forge signatures of other users (even non-existent ones like User:murrajm006), this may be considered a form of vandalism and/or sockpuppetry, and your recommendations may be discounted. Please sign your comments properly by typing four tildas after the message (

Note to Canley: Thanks for your friendly warning. I am guilty of making 2 posts on this discussion, but the second was just a kind of post script. Your claims concerning the "marrajm006" user are unfounded. That was not me, nor were any of the other entries under various user names. Solipsist3 06:48, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Responded to your note on my talk page.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 09:46, 23 August 2006 (UTC) Thanks Fat Man Solipsist3 05:03, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest you spend less effort wasting your own and others' time over these ventures, and get on with some serious editing. We are not here to indulge your whims. Tyrenius 15:47, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Complaint #2
Interestingly, this do-gooder doesn't even have a user name. Who does he think he is, scolding a respected old hand like Solipsist3?
This time with Ali Quot. If you keep this up you'll likely be blocked for ticking everyone off. 68.39.174.238 22:01, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Friendly Replies
After Solipsist3 asked The Fat Man Who Never Came Back "Who is this Tyrenius anyway?", he friendlily responded thus:
Why are you asking me about Tyrenius? I don't know him. He is an administrator with a very heavy-handed style and a much lower tolerance for nonsense than myself. I'm not a fan of his admin decisions, but, unlike you, he means well and takes his role as a Misplaced Pages contributor seriously.
This brings me to next point--what in God's name is going on at your school? When I was your age, my bozo friends and I had much more tangible and creative ways to kill time and cause mischief at school than sitting in the library/computer lab tyring to stir up trouble on geeky websites. We went outside. We built things and broke things and set stuff on fire. We had a video camera and a tape recorder. It was great fun. Besides Tyrenius and (to a lesser degree) myself, no one cares about your lame edits and feeble wiki-pranks! Try to enjoy your youth.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 14:30, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's a great shame, Solipsist3, that you don't use your intelligence, knowledge and writing skill to add to this encyclopedia to benefit humanity. Misplaced Pages is a unique cultural, social and intellectual achievement and it should be taken seriously, not somewhere to play dilettante games. Your experiments amount to deliberate vandalism, intentionally sabotaging the policies of Misplaced Pages. If more come to light I will impose a block for vandalism. As you have already discovered, they will be exposed in due course. I am quite happy to grant an amnesty at this point, if you want to come clean about any other inappropriate edits. Otherwise, this will be final warning.
Tyrenius' reply after I protested about him supposedly complaining about me to the St Ignatius' head:
- I did not complain about you to St Iganatius' head. I drew his attention to the list of anonymous IP edits, nearly all of which were vandalism. This vandalism has continued and I have now blocked the IP for 1 month.
- I accept your point Fat Man, but come on, as far as I know, Misplaced Pages vandalism is not terribly rife in my school, and I have only contributed to a very small part of it. I have to say, though, that your lament about today's youth might be a little over-the-top. I'm sure you spent your youth happily fishing with your grandfather and playing sports with your friends - but our lives aren't all Misplaced Pages vandalism! (In fact, very little of it is). To Tyrenius, thanks for the clarification. It may interest you to know that Fr O'Kelly left last Friday to become Auxiliary Bishop of Adelaide, so he may have missed your email. But I must point out, Ignatius is spelt without that extra 'a'. Solipsist3 23:56, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- No, I was not idealizing my miserable adolescence, but merely asserting my opinion that the forms of jackassery in which I engaged at that age were generally funner than typing testicle jokes into on online encyclopeida. The record does not seem to support your claim that wp vandalism is not a significant passtime at your school.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 01:47, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link, Fat Man. I must admit, you were right. There are quite a few edits in there. But just so you know, some of them are actually legitimate. I don't know what you mean by 'testicle jokes' but whatever that was about, let me assure you it wasn't me. Solipsist3 00:54, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've looked through them all. A handful are legit. Most are unadultered vandalism. Perhaps you could do a service to wiki and draw this to the attention of the new head. The former one would have got my email in good time before he left. Tyrenius 01:31, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that research Tyrenius. Some interesting results. Sadly I'm currently doing exams, so I don't have much time to dob in my peers. Solipsist3 02:49, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Replied to you once again on my talk page.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 00:18, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
A Misplaced Message
Responding to the comment on Solipsist3's user page that his doubters should check out certain articles authored by him, Tyrenius wrote on my user page.
I have already and I am pleased to see you are using your undoubted abilities to help create a worthy encyclopedia for the world. We (that, is of course, you, being a solipsist) would much rather have you with us (that is, you) than against us (you). Tyrenius 15:47, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the comment, my friend, but next time, keep discussion to the discussion page.
- Apologies, placed in error on wrong page. Please note my comment was referring to more recent edits made at that time, and not your earier "spoofs". Tyrenius 13:44, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- I understood your intentions perfectly. Thanks again for the compliments, my friend. Solipsist3 07:13, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar…whoever you are. Perhaps I should add you to my best friends. And perhaps you, like Tyrenius, should keep things like this to the talk page.
