Jay Blades is a furniture restorer and presenter originally from Hackney but currently based in Wolverhampton. He is best known for presenting The Repair Shop and Money for Nothing. He has also appeared in Would I Lie To You?, Celebrity Masterchef and Richard Osman's House of Games.
Blades and his then wife, Jade, set up the former High Wycombe-based furniture charity, Out of the Dark, that helped give disadvantaged youngsters practical skills in this area of northwest London. Together, they have one daughter.
Blades recently found out that he is one of 26 children via his father side of his family. Six in the United States of America, two in Africa and three in Jamaica,he also has meet 11 of them and he is very close to his half-sister Sophie. He said in his own words: "Growing up, I only knew of two families where the mum and dad were married. I loved the ladies I was with but things didn't work out and I moved on, even though I always stayed in touch with my children. I didn't want to be like my father."
