Danny Desmond Makkelie (born 28 January 1983) is a Dutch football referee. He has been a FIFA listed referee since 2011 and took charge of the final of the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship and the final of the 2020 UEFA Europa League between Inter and Sevilla as a UEFA Elite referee.

He works parttime as a police inspector in Rotterdam, he also works for the Royal Dutch Football Association since 2010 as a referee development coordinator. He was selected to take part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup as a video assistant referee, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final
