:*As a side note, it is a good idea to back up everything you say with evidence. Take the questions below and on the RfA template. Punk Boi 8 (talk · contribs) I wish to be reviewed regarding how I can improve my contributions on Misplaced Pages. Punk Boi 8 01:55, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Reviews

  • Preliminary suggestions: Create a userpage, move the userboxes on your talk page to it. Try to adapt to Misplaced Pages by using other users as reference. For example, in order to create this editor review, you should have carefully checked the other reviews below. Consider your answer to question no 1, for instance. Links to Miami and Queensland were expected, as well as a description of your contributions to those articles. Answers are weak, punctuation is disregarded. Perfection and accuracy are very important here, in Misplaced Pages you are surrounded by a community that will pay scrupulous attention to even the smallest details. Also, bear in mind that without proficiency in the English language, your chances of attaining a successful RfA are slim/null. You have a lot of to improve, and I wish you good luck. • OK, first off, I would start by previewing your contributions with a spell checker before submitting. Mistakes in spelling, grammar and puncuation are rife in your edits. Editors are expected to contribute with a high standard of written English in order to communicate ideas clearly. Admins have to be able to communicate with editors across the entire range of education and employment background - high school students to college professors, all can contribute useful edits and all will need guidance at some point. If you cannot communicate clearly and concisely then you cannot be effective.
  • Secondly, you need to make edits to the article space, that is the first purpose of contributing to Misplaced Pages, yes? You can choose an interest, hobby or area of expertise, study the articles and go away and perform some research in order to make effective edits. Look at Misplaced Pages:Contributing_to_Wikipedia#Where_do_I_start.3F if you want more ideas. There are many areas of Misplaced Pages where you can be effective. This page will give you a starter for ten. You don't have to write a Featured Article from scratch!
  • Thirdly, interact with other editors. You can do this on project pages such as XfD; other Wikiproject pages; Featured articles debates, etc.
  • Fourthly, revert vandalism and warn vandals. You can watch the new pages list and/or look at recent changes. If you find a vandal, report them at WP:AIV and warn them using User Talk templates. Keeping articles free of vandalism is a Good Thing.
  • Fifthly, study and get to know the policies and guidelines. It is a great idea to learn these over time and to refer to them when editing and reverting vandalism because if people argue with your edits then they are arguing with policies and guidelines, so their arguments had better be watertight if you are performing your duties according to policy. An admin is expected to have a working knowledge of policy.
  • As a side note, it is a good idea to back up everything you say with evidence. Take the questions below and on the RfA template. A reader such as myself wants to know what you have done, why you did it and what the outcome was. This requires linking to edit difs, found on article edit history pages. You edited the Miami and Queensland articles but I don't know what you did or why you are so pleased about this. Claim + evidence = good editing.
  • Lastly, if you are willing to do some or all of the above, adminship will be a matter-of-course. The tools allow you to block editors, delete pages and protect articles from editing. This is all to do with vandal fighting. If this is part of your self-appointed tasks then the tools will make you that much more effective. Regards, (aeropagitica) 22:34, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Many of the above comments are still applicable - you should consider them. You have a much better user page, and should continue to focus on editing only the main article and talk namespaces. --Trödel 04:04, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
