'''Final clue/twist:''' Due to different shadow angles in the picture of the speeding ticket, Columbo can prove that Creighton's face was just a flat cut-out mask and that Fairbanks must have been driving Creighton's speeding vehicle, and Creighton's alibi is broken. Another piece of evidence was that the glove prints on Edwards neck matched those found in the gardener's truck that had been stolen and later parked on a particular street where a unique type of tree grows. The windshield wiper wells on Fairbanks' car collected the berries and droppings of these unique trees, proving that Creighton parked her car on that street and also drove the truck there. List of episodes

The final 14 episodes of Columbo were produced sporadically as a series of specials, spanning 13 years from 1990 to 2003. These episodes have since been released on DVD in several regions as "season 10". Two of the episodes, "No Time to Die" and "Undercover", were based on 87th Precinct novels by Ed McBain and thus do not follow the usual Columbo format.
