E.J. Wells is a fictional character on NBC's daytime drama Days of our Lives. He has been played by James Scott since May 30, 2006.

Wells has recently been revealed on Days to be Elvis Aron Banks, also known as "Elvis Junior," a DiMera family member.

Recent fictional character history

E.J. appeared to be a charming young man who had genuine feelings for Samantha Gene Brady - a change from her going back and forth between brothers Lucas Roberts and Austin Reed. However, Kate Roberts had asked E.J. to seduce Sami in order to keep her away from her son Lucas; Kate would end up having sex with him instead. E.J. and Kate joined forces professionally to form Mythic Communications. Soon after, E.J. hired Samantha as a full partner, and made the shocking statement to Kate that he wanted Samantha to bear his child.

E.J. has been revealed to be the mysterious "gloved hand" terrorizing the citizens of Salem. Patrick Lockhart works for him, and Wells has been in contact with DiMera operatives in Italy. In December of 2006, Stefano DiMera revealed to Marlena Evans that E.J. Wells was his son with Susan Banks. This explains why Wells is behind the chaos currently afflicting the Brady family.

True identity

The 'Elvis Junior' character has been dramatically SORASed. He was born in an episode airing February 21, 1997 to Susan Banks, but was first known to the world as 'John Black Jr.' Banks sold the baby to John Black and Kristen Blake, who passed off the baby as their own (John believed that Kristen was the baby's biological mother). Susan eventually took her baby back, claiming that the true father of the baby was Elvis Presley. She named the baby after Presley, even calling him 'Elvis Junior'. Later, however, it was revealed that Stefano DiMera was his true father. Elvis Junior eventually left Salem with Susan Banks to be raised in England.
