SL Benfica B was the reserve football team of Portuguese sports club Sport Lisboa e Benfica (SL Benfica). The Benfica’s reserve team were extinguished in 2006 after just a few years in operation. Like in other reserve teams new youth players were continuously trained every season and the most useful and valuable were sent up to the major team when ready or needed.

The reserve teams in Portugal played in the same football pyramid as their senior team rather than a separate league. However reserve teams couldn't play in the same division as their main team. Therefore the B teams were ineligible for promotion to the SuperLiga or Liga de Honra. Reserve teams weren't also permitted to enter in the Portuguese Football Cup.

SL Benfica B played in the Portuguese Second Division when it was closed by SL Benfica administration in May 2006. They now play the same format but in the Reserve League. Many Players left Benfica's reserves Benfica B to other clubs and smaller leagues such as players like Tiago Costa and Bruno Aguiar
