I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have. Cleanup. To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates? Standardize the Chronology. A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563) Stub sorting Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Misplaced Pages, but if you believe it needs to be done . . . Data sorting. This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Misplaced Pages than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library. Are you referring to File:CairoEgMuseumTaaMaskMostlyPhotographed.jpg? That image has been on Common for eight years and was uploaded as the submitter's own work, so I'm somewhat dubious that it's a copyright violation. What's your evidence for the claim? A. Because it is in the public domain it may have just been copied off of wikipedia and put on other websites. Sorry for the mis-interpretation. But I did find it on multiple websites using Google Image Search. It again could just be a mirror website. MersmanD (talk) 11:23, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

This isn't a productive way to find copyvios. We encourage use of Commons images by other sites. If you really have a problem with a Commons image, raise it on Commons first. Johnbod (talk) 12:36, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

MersmanD, I know your account is new and you probably don't have a lot of experience with how Misplaced Pages works. But Misplaced Pages is mirrored so widely across the internet that if you used evidence this slender as your standard for copyright-tagging, you'd end up tagging most of Misplaced Pages. The copyvio tool link you provided shows a list of page with text that overlaps with that in this article... and the page with the strongest overlap is a forum page with a post that is explicitly quoting from Misplaced Pages. Copyright violation is an extremely important thing to watch out for. But if you go looking for it, please do some basic due diligence to distinguish when Misplaced Pages is copying from other people, as opposed to other people copying from Misplaced Pages. A. the lineage

I have done my own work and found the Tut was son of KV55, who is either of two possibilities: if the skull is old, it is likely that of Akhenaten, however there are Forensic examiners who independently claim the skull is young and if so would therefore be Smenkhkare, youngest son of Queen Tiye, the mother of KV35YL. Secondly: If Kiya's image was replaced in the Amarna Sunshade with that of Merytaten, they were equals where KV35YL must then be Kiya as all possible attending attributes coincide. - Robert Cole 2600:6C8A:7000:35:315E:C619:218D:500E (talk) 19:17, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
