Mat Kearney (IPA pronunciation: ) (born December 1, 1978) is a singer and songwriter born in Eugene, Oregon, and is now based out of Nashville, Tennessee. His music has an acoustic base with hints of hip-hop. He is signed to Aware/Columbia Records. In addition to singing he also plays guitar, piano, and harmonica.
On April 13, 2007, Kelly Clarkson announced on WJLP New York that Mat will be accompanying her on her Summer 2007 tour along with another "special guest".

Singles
At a concert in Houston in 2006, he revealed that his song "All I Need" was written based on two of his friends from New Orleans and their story during Hurricane Katrina.
Mat's songs have appeared on TV series such as Grey's Anatomy, Kyle XY, The Unit, Without A Trace, Laguna Beach, The Hills, Bones, Jericho, Friday Night Lights, Wildfire, What About Brian, One Life To Live, South Beach, 8th & Ocean, One Tree Hill and The Closer.
Kearney's "All I Need" was featured on Grey's Anatomy, and it began to chart the iTunes top 100 downloaded songs. The song peaked at #94 on the Billboard 100, and was a hit on the Christian charts. In addition, his song "Where We Gonna Go From Here" was also featured in season three of the hit series Grey's Anatomy and in the season finale of ABC Family's show Kyle XY.
"Nothing Left to Lose" was his second single. It was the sixth most played song on Christian CHR radio in 2006, and it peaked at #41 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week of February 10, 2007.
