Praise Davis Akpan (born 22 December 2000), better known by his stage name Praiz D, is a Nigerian songwriter, Afrobeat singer, and record producer. He is best known for releasing his hit single "Hustlers Anthem" in 2019. He released his debut album, Black World, in 2022.
Early life and education
Praiz D is a native of Ete-Ben in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, but he was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He attended Okrika Grammar School. After completing his West African Senior School Certificate Examination, he was offered admission to Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, to study Theatre Arts, but he dropped out in 2017 to pursue his music career.
Career
He began his music career at the age of 10 as an active choir member at a Catholic church in Port Harcourt. In 2017, he first relocated to Benin City, Edo State, and then to Lagos in 2019, where he released his flagship single, "Hustlers Anthem."
On 20 December 2022, he released his debut album Black World, which features seven tracks, including "If E No Dey," “Jaiye,” and "Gimme Love," featuring American rapper Yung OG. On 4 March 2024, he released his first EP, Depressed, which has four tracks, including "Pain" and "My Fada."
Style of music
Praiz D is an Afrobeat and Dancehall artist. He attributes his musical inspiration to Afrobeat legends such as Fela Kuti and Burna Boy.

Personal life
In 2023, he founded OTY Empire, a company that is involved in music production, artist management, and other ventures. Apart from music, Praiz D has also shown an interest in technology, leading to the founding of Bluetickgeng Development, which focuses on app development.
