Hiroshi Suzuki is a Japanese diplomat who is currently the ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Education

Suzuki was born in Kyoto and grew up in Uji city. He graduated with a B.A. in law from the University of Tokyo in 1985 and later earned an M.A. from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, Massachusetts, in 1988.

Career

In April 1985, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, starting his career as a diplomat.

In September 2022, he became the ambassador to India and Bhutan.

In late 2024, he ended his tenure as ambassador to India, and was appointed ambassador to the United Kingdom, arriving in August 2024. In December 2024, he congratulated the United Kingdom when it joined the CPTPP, hoping for better trade deals between the UK and Japan.
