Rapid Transit

Glad to hear you're also interested in working on the rapid transit article. I'd say we should figure out what actually counts as "notable" (off the top of my head, the world's first subway system, first to run electric vehicles, most riders per day, stuff like that) and put everything in chronological order. That might actually entail a full rewrite. The most important thing, I'd say, is sources. I don't have much experience with the citation format on Misplaced Pages, but I plan on looking up the proper way to do it and trying to find some good sources to use while editing the history section. Not sure exactly when I'll be able to get this done (maybe this weekend) but yeah, that's my plan of attack. Foxmulder 19:02, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Help wanted with Town and Country Planning in the United Kingdom

Hi, I've recently been expanding Town and country planning in the United Kingdom quite a bit and have started a subcategory called . I've really written up a bit of a skeleton for this area of planning. The planning acts, the new planning structure, PPS's, all those bloody new abbreviations LDF,LDD,RSS etc.etc. So far the majority of it are stubs and I was wondering if you might be interested in lending a hand in some way. Most of the articles so far are pretty dry statements of fact(I think) and could do with some context, structure/re-structure, debate, proof reading etc.etc. I'm a complete novice at Misplaced Pages and sure there's a heap of no-no's I've committed (Posting direct to talk pages?!?). Image copyright problem with Image:NrGorge.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:NrGorge.jpeg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. Pictures in the main Milton Keynes article

It is really good to have a town planning expert coming in to look at and improve the Milton Keynes article, but I'm afraid I have a problem with the pics you addded - more precisely, where you put them. These are good pics, but they are really in the wrong place, because they don't help to clarify the text in the adjacent paragraph. The fountain in (not near) the centre doesn't really say anything about the urban design process; Midsummer Boulevard is not a grid road. They are fine for the Central Milton Keynes article, so I'll move them there. If you disagree, drop me a note at user talk:Concrete Cowboy to say why.

Please don't let this discourage you from improving the text. It still contains a fair amount of opinion that could to with being based on accepted sources. Better still, if you can find or make copyright-free pictures (including drawings) that would illustrate the adjacent text, that would be great. --Concrete Cowboy 09:49, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Architecture Wikiproject

Hi, many thanks for all your architecture and planning edits. I was wondering if you might be interested in joining Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Architecture. It's currently the umbrella project for issues relating to planning (All though there is talk of establishing a unique planning wikiproject). However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shame from what i can see of your contributions you have never actually properly edited a decent Encyclopedic entry on Wp, you just seem to have an addiction to deletion...frankly I'm surprised you haven't tried to afd my talk page yet. If an article is worth editing, practically anyone will edit it. If in article isn't worth being on wikipedia, surprisingly few people are willing to nominate them. Misplaced Pages does need it's butchers as well as it's surgeons. But also, I edit in my office, and wikipedia is the only site I can get through the filter for some reason, meaning anything beyond minor copyediting is out of my ability. I just read what you said in Ferion, and you're right that a couple of the articles merely need some dedicated attention to satisfy criteria. If you remove the speedy tags from the articles you believe just need some attention I won't object. Your right, I kinda got 'on a roll', but in an overly controversial way. MMORPGs

When 40 articles fall in a single night, there needs to be an accountability. DarkSaber2k has yet to explain himself for doing what I would call a wiki-crime. At the very least, he should be brought before the admins. This should not pass, lest him or some other try it again someday, with some other group of articles, believeing that there be no accountability. Gothador is getting a review, and it will probably be deleted (Rightfully so- it's crap), but I know of 40 or so other REALLY GOOD articles that did not get the chance that Gothador did, because DarkSaber2k abused the system. I want to get some arbitration on this, but I don't know how to go about it. Matt Brennen 18:33, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

I totally agree. There is more to this that simply saying they don't comply with WP:Web or WP:blah blah. Its almost like they need to be judged against their peers. I don't know how I got dragged into all this... I used to play inselkampf and wrote the entry, but its more than defending a genre that was once close to my heart, its about defending a 'minority' interest. Something that only a minority may find important.
As for Arbitration, this has to be our next step, its the only avenue open to us. Unfortunately WP is sooooooooo hopelessly beurocratic i'm not too sure how to do this either. The problem is most WP admins' absolutely adore deleting pages. Hows about a project page? I have created User:Matt Brennen/ArbitMMO, we should make a good case before presenting it, when we finally figure out how :-P Bjrobinson 09:46, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
