Proposed adminship is a simplified method by which users may be granted the administrative tools to serve the community. It does not replace or deprecate Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship.
The process
Any user may propose another user for adminship by adding {{Rfaprod}} to the user page of the user they wish to become an administrator (please note that this template must be substituted). If the template remains in place without objection for 7 days, the user will be made an administrator by a bureaucrat. When the template is added, the user will automatically appear in Category:Proposed administrators, which appears on the main request for adminship page.
Removal of the template
For a user to validly remove the {{rfaprod}} template from a user page, they should have:
- a user account, for at least 30 days;
- made at least 100 total edits (to whichever namespaces);
- a stated reason as to why the candidate is not suitable;
If the template is removed by another user, the reason for removal must be given at the candidate's talk page, and should also be summarized in the edit summary. When giving this reason, please remember to be constructive and remain civil.
The candidate may remove the template themselves at any time without explanation and without prejudice.
Following removal of the template by anyone other than the candidate, the simplified process has been completed, albeit unsuccessfully. The candidate is still permitted to run through the normal request for adminship process at any subsequent time.
If a user has passed through this process once, or has a failed or withdrawn RFA to his name, he may not pass through this process a second time, but must use regular RFA instead.
Directions for closing bureaucrat
Before promoting a user based on the proposed adminship process, a bureaucrat may instead decide to remove the template themselves as outlined above, even if the 7 day period has expired. If the bureaucrat decides that the candidate is not suitable, they should also provide a reason on the candidate's talk page. Otherwise, the candidate should be made an administrator.
