newb with a proposal

Greetings,

I know almost nothing about the world of wikipedia. I have (helped?) to start www.zeriwiki.org in an effort to help a group of people advance an important social mission. I think they are on to something very important and want to ensure it is recorded and hopefully implemented.

How does any of this involve you? I see your interest in India and would like to communicate with you about ensuring these ideas are spread to an Indian audience as I believe they would be beneficial to the people of that country and likely implemented there before they will be widespread here in the US.

I feel the same way about China, as these two countries, as well as several in Africa, suffer from overpopulation and neglect (for now) on behalf of the rest of the world. One major advantage this leaves them is that they have need and lower barriers to implementation of such important ideas by virtue of the lack of certain repercussions of the 'benefits' of being a 'first world country'.

Perhaps you can review the wiki and suggest appropriate help - I don't have a budget (considering going to soros) and I don't have knowledge abut the wiki system, but I have good intentions, determination, compassion, peace, freedom and even abundance... sometimes ;)

Thanks for your help!

I don't know what to do as there isn't a goal of the project on the page.  =Nichalp (talk · contribs)= 08:04, May 12, 2005 (UTC)

Response

Thanks for your comments.

I am a bit stubborn, yes, but just look at their attitude towards me in Zanskar and other articles. All I request from them is a little patience.

You stated that /temp page for the article, but it is often a mirror image of the original article. The temp page should be done if a major structural and content change is expected. The temp page has a limited shelf life and should be open to others to comment about it. However using a temp page to portray a viewpoint or biased matter is a gross abuse of its use

That is exactly what I'm doing for Wee Kim Wee. However, I don't understand why Mel stated that I am taking ownership of articles. His impatience also caused the result of this dispute, if you realise that. I admit that my English my have its flaws, but stating about the issue of personal attacks I have my backings against them.

Also what I did in Zanskar was doing for major structural changes. If you can see, the older version of Zanskar needs major structural editing, especially in the format and english.

I"ll stop here. Anyway, I hope you understand my quick-cut comments, as I have a lot to do. Thanks a lot.

If you read the RfC, you'd have seen Smoddy say that we are extremely calm and patient with him. He's not.
Zanskar's English is okay. I dunno why he has to do this. JMBell° 11:13, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

Cricket

Well, if rules are available online or in printed format they would be a great thing to use to verify that the article is correct. Then check for any books on cricket. Try to use those to verify the facts in the article. Perhaps look for commentary from prominent observers of the sport. Is there some official compendium of statistics? That could be used as a reference for any that are cited, such as records, etc. Some of this should be available online and that would be great, but ideally both online and printed sources would be used. Hope that helps. - Taxman 13:03, May 12, 2005 (UTC)
