HOW'S MY EDITING?
Please review me!

{{open}}, {{closed}} and {{taken}}

What exactly is the point of these three templates? From what I can see, they are just coloured words that can be more easily typed than putting two braces around them. Could you please explain? Currently, only {{open}} has been used even once. -- Anonymous Dissident 00:26, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

For adoption, sandboxes, etc. jonathan (talkcontribs) 00:49, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Ah, ok, I see. Can you explain why one could not just type 'taken', and why it is necessary for templates for a single word? -- Anonymous Dissident 00:53, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
It's just so people won't have to do the HTML coding (saving them work) jonathan (talkcontribs) 01:06, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
I assume you mean HTML coding for the colours. Why are the colours even necessary? -- Anonymous Dissident 03:34, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
It makes them easier to see. jonathan (talkcontribs) 03:39, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm. Well, thanks for making the template... but do you really think that a single coloured word(s) warrant a template? -- Anonymous Dissident 04:07, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

←Well, I have seen a few with one or two words in them, see {{yes}} and {{no}} jonathan (talkcontribs) 14:26, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Hmmm.... well, ok. Thanks for explaining it to me. -- Anonymous Dissident 15:19, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Jonathan!

Hey, Jonathan, how goes it? I've never really interacted with you much, but after seeing your intelligent view at a most interesting RfC, and also your retiring note on Phaedriel's talk page, I was somewhat disheartened that you decided to leave on such a high note. Don't worry what others may say; you're a valuable contributor here, and a really great guy. Again, welcome back! Happy editing, ( arky ) 01:08, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Userpage

Hi, Jonathan. You may notice that I deleted your user page and restored it minus a bit of detail. Unfortunately, it isn't wise to post information such as your hometown, school schedule, name, and birthday. Not just because of your age, but due to the freaks that will take personal information and use it. I removed the private information and restored the page as it was. Sorry for any inconvenience, but please don't post such detailed information in the future; it just isn't wise. - auburnpilot talk 04:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Encyclopedia Titanica AfD

Hi Jonathan, please take care not to remove other users' posts from AfD discussions, even if they haven't formatted them correctly. It's important that the whole debate can be seen by the closing admin. You should have reformatted it instead. Sorry, --RFBailey 00:01, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Re. bot

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Python. My bot is just a copy of AWB, which works on Windows (with .NET 2.0 installed). You might run it on a separate bot account, which would need to be approved here. Ral315 » 02:54, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks. I'm a little bit new to this kinda stuff! ( if it isn't obvious.) Just wondering, you said you are only 11. How did you come to wiki? Do your friends use wiki or something? I was just wondering. You don't have to answer if it's too personal. Irish♥forever(and lovin' it) 01:45, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I got to wiki in March 2006 by Google (kudos) and joined under this account, and joined under this account in December of that year. I made my first edit under this account on February 2, 2007 as Jonjonbt, and then got renamed to Jonathan in September, and no, my friends do not use wiki. I did have one friend under this account, but he asked me to retire him and I did, painfully. Jonathan letters to the editormy work 01:54, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I read the comments above

DO you live in North Carolina? JUst wondering. again, you don;t have to answer if it's too persnal. And also, what was your last article you created? I might have read it.Irish♥forever(and lovin' it) 01:45, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

No—read the first paragraph on my userpage. And I can also design a sig for you if you'd like! Bye! Jonathan letters to the editormy work 01:56, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

who so ever are you. if you don't know the biography of a person. don't touch it. i am removing my page and i am removing my self from wiki pedia. earlier i found it to be a good site. but i am exhausted. i tried to give biography of a great person who earned lesser credit than he deserved. don't worry take care of you and your wiki. u r the most brilliant editor. go to hell —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rsdhull (talkcontribs) 12:04, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Calm down, calm down. I do not need to go to hell for deleting an article about a non-notable person. He needs to have won an award or have been nominated for many. Also, please read this policy on your comment. Thanks!

Please do not be so hasty with your speedy deletion tags. It certainly is not nonsense. Give me a bloomin chance, mate!!Luckyles 18:33, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove speedy tags. You must place {{hangon}} right below the tag. Jonathan letters to the editormy work 18:41, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Comments about your Nicktropolis screenshot

Hi, I have a question: Why you don't upload a newer screenshot of Nicktropolis? I think that you can because you're the one that uploaded the first version, and the design of the page has litte changes. Note: please leave comments on my talk page. Macys123 21:40, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Re:Question...

Approved you

Typically, your request went on a few mins after i'd approved the last batch

Usually you would have to wait till jogers, myself or another administrator did the list

Your bot

Hi Jonathon, I know it's a new bot you're running, so I just thought you should be aware that you edited using the bot account by accident , might want to try and remember to log into your main account next time :-) Cheers, Ryan Postlethwaite 00:22, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Bot trial newsletter

Hooray! Jonathan's bot has been approved for trial! However, since the bot is in trial, this is a fake newsletter so it can be approved for good. Thanks!!! DeliveryBot 22:31, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Andrew Winch

Thank you for editing an article that I created, Andrew Winch. I never claim ownership of articles and welcome all constructive edits!

I am puzzled about DeliveryBot. It seems to have edited, not just a delivery bot function. Furthermore, your edit summary suggests breaking up the table but usually those who make the suggestions do it (except when it merits discussion). I'm not convinced that the bot is such a good idea but that's based only on seeing it make one edit. Archtransit 17:19, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

I forgot to log back in under this account, and you're very welcome. I didn't break the table up because it was about 10:00 local time when I made the edit and I had to go to bed. Thanks! 17:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

"Decommission"

Can you provide a source? I haven't found any usage by state highway departments. --NE2 20:34, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

I just called MoDOT and they couldn't answer the question because of the weekend, the representative did not know the answer, however I do very well believe that they have used it before. Jonathan letters to the editormy work 20:43, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
