Indefinite block for legal threats

Hi. As per our no legal threats policy, you have been blocked from editing, indefinitely. This is how it works: if you wish to continue editing here and to have the block lifted, you need to retract that legal threat. If you wish to take legal action, you are of course free to do so, but are not permitted to have any part of this, including announcing that it is pending, on-site. This does not mean you cannot ask us to remove defamatory and other legally problematic content, we encourage you to do this, but either you take legal action, off site, or you ask us to attend to the problem internally. The point is, for our own legal protection, you cannot have it both ways: if you choose an internal approach, you leave legal threats and action external to this site (i.e. limited to the pertinent court/s). Choice is yours. Note that I have not specifically reviewed this case. El_C 04:51, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I really have to insist on an answer, a direct one. A concise and intelligible one, please. El_C 15:27, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

My legal threats were against a user not wiki for calling me a "NUTSO" now the other guy username "Christopher R" made legal threats against Wiki for allowing sourced information.--Blue5864 (talk) 15:45, 8 December 2007 (UTC) send me a private email at news@menudo.biz

Actually, this edit specifically states We are filing a lawsuit against wiki and will summons your IP for conspriacy to libel Mr. McGillis. Additionally, this edit is another general threat of lawsuit. IrishGuy 16:00, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Blue5864, are you prepared to retract any and all legal threats, not just ones against the wiki, but any ones that take place on-our-wiki? El_C 16:05, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes I did not realized I said that and retract that as noted by Irish guy--Blue5864 (talk) 16:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Alright, you are unblocked. Hope everything works out well for you. Good luck. El_C 16:20, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

El_C don't leave yet help me with the Menudo article so that is complies with Wiki policy. The stories are sourced and I am in communication with serveral admin via email who have offered to help if you cant but truly the links and Menudo info while scandal are accurate original PDF newspaper stories that reflect history not fiction. People should know what was printed when this international scandal broke. I did not wright this stuff respected reporters did and major publishers printed it. And do not forget the signed letter by MENUDO PARENTS THAT INLCUDED THE SIGNATURES OF MENUDO BOYS claiming Gay sex in Menudo and drugs. PDF original sourced info. Just guide me on this to make sure we do it right. Wiki nor I created these facts history did. Thanks in advance--Blue5864 (talk) 16:26, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Sock

Are you Mcgillismusic? IrishGuy 16:37, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

NO--Blue5864 (talk) 16:42, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

How exactly does that work considering both you and Mcgillismusic have claimed to be Darrin McGillis? Mcgillismusic added the information about Darrin McGillis to the Menudo article as well as much of the WP:BLP violations you continue to want to readd. Mcgillismusic also created the Darrin McGillis article which was deleted numerous times. IrishGuy 16:58, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
(ec) I believe you are. This diff and this diff both purport to be by "Darrin McGillis". The Rambling Man (talk)
So, you get back from a block, and your first action is to accuse everybody else of vandalism and unethical conduct, rather than discussing things normally? Dreaded Walrus 16:56, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

You will notice IrishGuy that JIMBO WALES deleted they Mcgillis stuff as a courtesy to him because of unwarranted attacks to his page and blocked the page from recreation because of libel that was placed on the Darrin McGillis page. Anyways I am in private emails with several admin who are just as disturbed as I am at your conduct and as I said have a voice message into Jimbp to resolve this and hopefully get this fiasco behind us.

Walrus just because you are supporter as stated on your site for gays, just remember I am not attacking gays as I am activist for gays rights I am only sourcing stories that are actual PDF stories not fiction involving minors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blue5864 (talkcontribs)

This account was created a couple of days after the previous one was blocked. Both accounts have claimed to be McGillis and both have only edited to promote McGillis and his business interests. As for your constant claims of being in contact with various administrators...why have none come forward here or on WP:ANI? IrishGuy 17:11, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
"Walrus just because you are supporter as stated on your site for gays"? "Supporter"? "Site for gays"? "Fiction involving minors"? Care to explain what you mean by this? Dreaded Walrus 17:07, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Darrin McGillis is in email communication with me. His web site is www.mcgillismusic.com he hired for web developement in the past as has many people in the music biz. Note I reveiww the Mcgillismusic talk page and you will JIMBO WALES did a courtesy delete of the talk page for Mr. McGillis after he spoke with Mr. McGillis a year or so regards libel on his wiki page. They both agreed that he would block recreation of the page to avoid libel being recreated. He is also running for office at www.mcgillis4clerk.com for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Miami Dade County.--Blue5864 (talk) 17:11, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Yet here you claim to be McGillis. Which one is it? IrishGuy 17:19, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Thats a email forwarded to me sent by McGillis to Jimbo Wales as I have no relation with Jimbo and McGillis does as they have spoken many time a year ago.--Blue5864 (talk) 17:22, 8 December 2007 (UTC) Honestly get a grip.

No relation? Explain this. IrishGuy 17:28, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

delete this number after I post it ok I called (removed) this is the cell or home of Jimbo (please delete after posted) I left message for him. --Blue5864 (talk) 17:31, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

How and why did you call someone you have no relation with? You do see what I am getting at, right? When it suited you, you claimed to be McGillis but now that it doesn't suit you, you claim to be someone else...yet the stories don't make sense. IrishGuy 17:34, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

It does not matter weather I am or not Darrin McGillis as he or I have never been blocked from Wiki and second JIMBO WALES courtesy deleted all McGillis complaints and McGillis was satisfied because you or no one else can create a Darrin McGillis page and that settles that. I have a family appt and respond further later tonight.

Actually, Mcgillismusic is indef blocked. IrishGuy 17:52, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Of course, there are also Legal Dept and Miami media. Any other account you have or have used? IrishGuy 17:54, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
== I wanted to stay calm but... ==

Could we be a bit more inclusive in this dispute? I've been in contact with Blue5864 and overseeing the changes here since the dispute started about a week ago. As far as I could tell, none of us here are more of an expert to the matter than the few major participants in here - Blue5864, Christopher R and (probably) Dreaded Walrus.

Although Misplaced Pages has strict guidelines on external links, which favours "mainstream" media, specialists websites and references in the relevant field should be given (sometimes even disproportionate) attention. From the layout and contents of menudo.biz I couldn't see anywhere of it looking like a "personal website" - rather it's like a specialist site dedicating to the matter. And these are important (primary or secondary) sources concerning controversies of a subject.

An analogy is from scientific articles - mainstream media usually has low credibility in these fields. More often than not a research website set up by high school students should be given more credibility than probably a newspaper. The same applies here.

Misplaced Pages is to be neutral. Being neutral doesn't mean being safe and following the mainstream. Rather, it is taking into account all the major views and drawing a balance between them. No one knows (at least most editors up here) if the scandal is true; but if someone said so, why on earth would we reject the claim entirely saying that there are no place for such (extraterrestrial) claims?

A more appropriate (IMO) approach to the matter could be including the idea of the paragraph and rephrasing as "xxx alleged that... CNN reported that... and etc. etc."

And to Blue5864 - if said in that website about third-party sources (eg. CNN) are all claims that have been made, produce some evidence. That will give credibility to the whole case. If not, then I might probably also dismiss menudo.biz as another unreliable source. Sorry for being long-winded. --Deryck C. 17:45, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree with you whole heartedly and will sandbox the paragraph with even more sourced than already is. Thank you for the comments. --Blue5864 (talk) 17:53, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

This is on the Darrin McGillis page:

16:39, 29 December 2006 Jimbo Wales (Talk | contribs) deleted "Darrin McGillis" ‎ (courtesy delete, please do not recreate without emailing me privately first.. this is temporary)

Please note that this is strictly prohibited under Misplaced Pages's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. He should have been indeffed immediately. Especially given the above discussion, and the history of legal threats when he doesn't get his way. Mr Which 01:39, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Reblocked

Your account has been re-blocked due to this legal threat: . You have already been blocked for this behavior extremely recently. Retract the legal threats or no unblock is possible. RyanGerbil10(Говорить!) 02:00, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

I just got done emailing conversations with jimbo and you block me for legal threats? That is not threat? That was a observation.--Blue5864 (talk) 02:06, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I am working directly with several admins in private emails all day today and also with Jimno Wales in private emails. Jimbo has known me for over one year now and knowns I would NEVER threaten suit with wiki. Several admins and Jimbo are monitoring the interaction between me and others. Just visit the talk page for Menudo. Assuming that someone said something that he did not intend is out right wrong and not in wiki way. People need to be more friendly and stop with the agenda. I am just glad that several people are watching these pages as they are written.--Blue5864 (talk) 02:11, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
So do you completely withdraw any perceived legal threat that people may think you have made? (i.e. Are you planning to take any action against Misplaced Pages or any of its contributors?) Ryan Postlethwaite 02:13, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
I have never had any intentions to file any legal action that alex guy just has a ax to grind with me and is not friendly person. The answer is I have no legal threats of any kind.--Blue5864 (talk) 02:15, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, I've asked RyanGerbil10 to pop over he and review the situation. Ryan Postlethwaite 02:17, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
