Asajaya is a small Sarawakian town located in the Samarahan Division. Most of its inhabitants are made up of the Malay (Orang Laut), Chinese and Iban people. Asajaya have a small town, namely Pekan Asajaya.

Education

There are a few primary schools - SJK Chung Hua Asajaya, SK Asajaya Ulu, SJK Chung Hua Semera, SJK Chung Hua Jemukan and so on. There are also three secondary school - SMK Pesantren (only for Muslims), SMK Asajaya and SMK Semera. Those who passed their UPSR exam in Primary Six can choose their own secondary school (or the school chooses for them), meanwhile for those who failed will have to go to SMK Asajaya, as that is the only secondary school with transition classes.
