Yu-Na Kim

Hi, I'm the one who made changes prior to your recent change. I made some suggestions in the discussion, please take a look and let us know what you think. Thank you :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.212.21.99 (talk) 21:59, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because it's the holiday season and there are plenty of off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Misplaced Pages:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, --Elonka 10:14, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Citations

If one article (Karate in this case) draws on material from another article (Japan, which is well cited), is it possible to cite the article on Japan, to get rid of criticism about having uncited material?

Thanks! RogueNinjatalk 17:00, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

I do not think so. I tried to find the relevant bit on a policy page, but could not. But because Misplaced Pages is ever-changing, it's not a good idea to cite one page to support another. This is why schoolchildren are not supposed to cite Misplaced Pages. If Japan article has solid sources, why not pick them up at the library and use them to source karate? deleted page

hi-

bit curious why one of my pages was deleted - we were about to really expand it but realised it was gone!

19:14, 31 January 2007 Fang Aili (Talk | contribs) deleted "Imperial College School of Medicine Students' Union" ‎ (WP:CSD A7 - does not assert notability)

any chance of getting it back?

cheers

Mschamberlain (talk) 12:00, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello, it was deleted because it did not assert notability. Thank you, Fang Aili 05:14, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Volapük again...

Hi Fang Ali. Perhaps you've already noticed a new proposal against the Volapük Misplaced Pages: m:Proposals for closing projects/Radical cleanup of Volapük Misplaced Pages. In case you agree that this proposal is not a good idea, perhaps you could help us fight against it with your vote? Thanks! --Smeira (talk) 23:31, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

MIPRO

Hi Fang Ali. MIPRO is a Taiwan-based wireless microphone company; recently lanuches industry first digital wireless microphone system. Thus, I'd like to edit MIPRO in Misplaced Pages; however, this title has been protected. Can you help to edit it? (If you need detailed information, I am willing to contribute it). thanks and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Ccdavid (talk) 05:57, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

reinstatement of "Gaston Orellana" page

Dear Fang Aili, I am Victor Sullivan, I created last year the page on the artist Gaston Orellana. I am a scholar in the UK and am currently reading -and writing!- for a DPhil. The deletion of the page was, I believe, inappropiate. I see that not sufficient citation and reference was included and agree that more was indeed necessary, yet I was amidst the final examinations for my BA, which is why I ceased to improve the page. I would have appreciated the opportunity to improve the page, as the material is hardly lacking, or at least the opportunity to reply to the deletion. Tate has over a dozen books on the artist and more are to be found in the British Library. I was my intention to include such reference when more time was available. Also, may I enquire what your experience in History of Art is? Also, could I ask you to reinstate the page so as to carry on working on it? I now have a set of photographs of works by Gaston Orellana and a biography from the lastest publication about him (and permission from the editor and owners of the IP to include it in Misplaced Pages), as the "Hondo" art movement is my specialist area. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VPSullivan (talkcontribs) 12:08, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Admin coaching

So I'm a recent graduate of the admin coaching process. I found it very useful, and would like to help out more with it. I was wondering what you would think of sending a message to those on the Misplaced Pages:Admin_coaching/Volunteers page asking them to reconfirm their membership. At the same time, that page could be merged with Misplaced Pages:Admin_coaching/Status. And on the status page, it might make sense to add a variable "Capacity", so an coach who can handle 5 students, but has three, would have a capacity of 3/5. MBisanz 10:20, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Admin Coaching Re-confirmation

Hello, previously you expressed interest in participating in the Misplaced Pages:Admin coaching project. We are currently conducting a reconfirmation drive to give coaches the opportunity to update their information and capacity to participate in the project. Please visit Misplaced Pages:Admin coaching/Status to update your status. Also, please remember to update your capacity (5th table variable) in the form of a fraction (eg. 2/3 means you are currently coaching 2 students, and could accept 1 more student). Thank you. Citing Misplaced Pages

Hi, Erica. It certainly has been a long time since we've been in touch, hasn't it? Well, I'm relatively free now, so I can contribute again. Enough talk; I'd like to ask a quesiton. Is it allowed if an article cites Misplaced Pages as a source? --Zacharycrimsonwolf 14:14, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
