This is the only warning you will receive. Your recent insertion of spam, commercial content, and/or links is prohibited under policy. Any further spamming may result in your account and/or your IP address being blocked from editing Misplaced Pages.
Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles. Advertising and using Misplaced Pages as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Misplaced Pages. Thank you.
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Misplaced Pages, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Misplaced Pages article or website of your organization in other articles (see Misplaced Pages:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
For information on how to contribute to Misplaced Pages when you have conflict of interest, please see Misplaced Pages:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Misplaced Pages:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Hu12 (talk) 18:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Not Spam
I have reviewed every one of this account's contributions, and they are all perfectly appropriate for their articles and appear to be valuable additions, the very opposite of spam. I cannot understand the actions of Hu12 indiscriminately reverting these links, and accusing the user of spamming. I think this calls for an apology. -- Zsero (talk) 21:34, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Misplaced Pages
Ashleylmack, welcome to Misplaced Pages. Thank you for helping to improve our online encyclopaedia. You may have seen some suggestion that the links you added were inappropriate. I have reviewed every one of your contributions, and found them all to be valuable additions to our project. Thank you and please keep up the good work. -- Zsero (talk) 21:34, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- This may be true, but the warnings stay until removed by the user, or an admin. Daedalus (talk) 01:09, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi Ashleymack, I too have seen some of the links you added and agree with Zsero above: they're good, and thanks for adding them. If I could make a request though: since the links you are adding are coming from the same webhost (educational non-profit, I know) could you place any future links you would like to add on the talk page of the article first? Just let the link sit on the talk page to see if anyone objects, and then in the predictable absence of any meaningful objections, add the link to the article after 2 days. Understandably, some editors' eyebrows are raised when 1 account is used to add links from the same website to multiple articles, to the exclusion of any other editing. So adding the links in this fashion may help to allay those concerns. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask at my talk page. Thanks, R. Baley (talk) 22:33, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Again, Zsero, you are not an admin, and only the user in question, or an admin, may remove these commets and warnings. This is your final warning to stop. Daedalus (talk) 22:58, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
