Gabbar Singh, the name is known by all movie lovers World wide was played by the late Amjad Khan in 1975 in the film Sholay. Every Bollywood fan old and new will always remember some of the dialogue's from the film, such lines as:

  • Kitne aadmi the?
  • Tera kya hoga kaalia?
  • Jo dar gaya samjho mar gaya.
  • Bahut yaraana lagtaa hai.
  • Do chaar thumke hamein bhi dikha do chammiya.
  • Yeh haath mujhe de de thakur.
  • Accha, to yeh hai thakur ka fauji.

Differences in the remake of Sholay and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag

Gabbar became Babban. Gabbar broke Thakur's hand with a sword whilest Babban broke Narasima's hands with an Axe. Gabbar's brother is never mentioned although Babban's brother is mentioned.
