The iPhone is a smartphone produced by Apple Inc. It was released as the successor to the iPhone at the June 6, 2008 WWDC Conference. The "improved" version of the iPhone includes a thinner body, a black plastic back instead of the silver polished back in the first version, solid metal buttons, an improved camera, a flush headphone jack instead of the deepened recessed jack in the first iPhone, and dramatically improved audio. Jobs also introduced the key improvement, 3G capability enabling 2.8X faster speeds.

Locations

The iPhone 3G will be available in 22 countries on July 11. It will be rolled out to 70 countries total over the next few months.
