Omar Niño Romero (born May 12, 1976 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico) is a professional boxer in the light flyweight (108 lb) division. His record is 24-2-2 (10 KOs).
Known as "Giant Killer", he is the current WBC world light-flyweight champion, after beating Brian Viloria in a major upset in August of 2006. In the rematch, Romero fought Viloria to a majority draw decision, which led to the Mexican retaining the title on November 18, 2006. The win is marred with controversy, as Nino allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine in his post-fight urinalysis following the bout with Viloria.
Earlier in his career he defeated future star Jorge Arce by first-round TKO on June 21, 1996.
