New Admin Thank You's

Just a quick "thank you" for voting me for admin. Now all I've got to do is find out how to use these worrying new powers... Grutness| 06:19, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hi BlankVerse,

I would like to thank you for your vote of support and confidence for my adminship, it has been much appreciated. If you need anything in future that requires my attention, please do not hesitate to contact me. :)

- Cheers, Mailer Diablo 18:29, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Let me add my thanks for your support in my nomination as well. I look forward to helping out. - BanyanTree 04:12, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for supporting me on my RfA. It's always nice to get some positive feedback. I hope I can put my new abilities to some good use. -- grm_wnr Esc 17:39, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hi BlankVerse. Thank you for supporting my recent RfA. I was surprised and humbled by the number of positives votes. I'll be monitoring RfA regularly from now on and will look for a chance to "pay it forward". In light of your comments, I'll also try to play an active role in trying to help SchmuckyTheCat, Huaiwei and Instantnood resolve their differences. Cheers, --MarkSweep 02:32, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for supporting my RFA. It couldn't have happened without your effort. FeloniousMonk 18:06, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Did you know?

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article grunion, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently-created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

SoCal WikiProject

I've made a list of the children of Category:California

Just to let you know, I've created a list of the child categories of Category:California, at: Misplaced Pages:WikiProject California/categories. Let me know what you think of it. JesseW 00:29, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi BlankVerse! Thanks for the compliment on the Presidio article; I'll put it in the DYK queue (usually I forget). Compliments are rare here, and I really appreciate it.

Btw, couldn't agree more with the first comment on your user page: "...mourning the loss of civility and and the loss of too many good editors from the Misplaced Pages." It's true, and this has been bugging me for some time. There's ten times more complaining about bad behavior, and organized pillories and punishments, than rewards and kudos. Not sure what to do about it, but losing good editors to burnout is a bad thing. Peace and happy editing, Antandrus (talk) 14:48, 23 August 2005 (UTC)

About rotating the photo of the New Otani...

Hello:

Rotating the photo is fine. I wish I had a higher quality original but unfortunately, my digital camera at the time was a real piece of junk (I have a better one now, as you may have noticed from my recent uploads). --Coolcaesar 17:31, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

KRCD

It might not be total booshwah, but it isn't terribly accurate AFAIK. There's an "X-103.1" alternative station in San Bernardino but I don't know the call letters. 103.1 out here is soft rock and 103.9 is a translator for a classic rock station at 106.9 in Yucca Valley. I may Google "X 103.1" when I have a moment. Work's kind of hectic this morning.  :) - Lucky 6.9 17:41, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

Lots of edits, not an admin...

I'm terribly sorry, but I think I may have accidently knocked you off the list while moving users from the 2.5k list to the 5k list or 7.5k list as needed - a lot of cutting and pasting (although I can't find the diff, so maybe I didn't, but...). I'm going to make it up to you right away, tho, by nominating you for an adminship. I'll give you 12 hours from the time of this post to decline the offer (or prepare your answers). Cheers! -- BDAbramson 02:37, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

List of California State Routes

Remember when you said:

Listify and then delete before someone gets the bold idea to do the same for California. A mess of numbers is practically meaningless, while a good list (see List of California State Routes) can be much getter than either categories or navigation boxes.

Yup, guess what happened... Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of California State Routes. --Rschen7754 05:16, 2 October 2005 (UTC)

Systemwars.com

Hi. Can I get your opinion of Tony's latest recreation and relisting of a valid VfD deletion at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Systemwars.com (second version). Thanks. - Tεxτurε 15:48, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Imdaking

I've been investigating the alarming behaviour of this user, including his violation of several of our policies, and plan to start on the most appropriate form of dispute resolution as soon as I have prepared some evidence. Part of that evidence is contained in the abusive comments this user has made towards you.

I would therefore like to extend an invitation to you to advise me of any other users you are aware of that Imdaking has been particularly foul towards. Everything I have is going on User:Robchurch/Imdaking. All help would be appreciated, and if you would like to join me in whatever action I decide to take, you are most welcome to do so.

This user's behaviour is not acceptable. Rob Church 23:19, 6 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank you! I only just realised (despite watching the page) that you'd posted a load of suggestions on User_talk:Robchurch/Imdaking. Thanks for all that, I'll sort some more stuff out soon. Yes, I am going to start with an RfC. Rob Church 12:28, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

wikipedia:News sources

Cheers for your pointer to the guardians world news directory. I shall sit down some day soon and use it to fill in some gaps in wikipedia:News sources. I notice that the Guardians collection is hierarchical too, although with quite different divisions at the top level. Barnaby dawson 08:14, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

Interwiki links

BV, I am not sure I understand what is different about your suggestion from what I am currently doing. See the top of my user page here. Is it not the same thing? I have a menu linking to each page in every language. It appears on the top of all the pages. Take a look and see if this is what you meant.

I even added arrows so you can easily "tour" the pages by just following the arrows from link to link.

Ah, yes! Now I know what you are talking about. That is very cool! I do think I will use both methods for now.
I saw an example of this for the first time yesterday, but I only noticed the addition to the bottom of the page (where categories go), not on the sidebar. If you go to my article which was translated into Hungarian yesterday, you will see the link on the side. I noticed the code being added yesterday, but didn't noticed the sidebar link. Totally cool:
