Mark Zuckerberg released Facebook to its first universities on February 4, 2004.

Mark Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is a computer programmer who is known for creating the Facebook, an online social networking directory used by over 2.5 million students at over 800 academic institutions in the United States. Zuckerberg was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY and attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard University. At the end of his sophomore year, he took a leave of absence and moved to Palo Alto, CA to work on Facebook with his college roommates.
