It is in Gloucestershire in the South West of England. The origins of the name Horsley are much debated, though it is thought that it originates from "Horse in a field" after the large number of horses kept in fields on its rolling hillside.
There are a few local businesses and establishments which may be of interest. Herberts Bakery sells freshly made bread. The Bell and Castle pubs whos landlady is "Tracey" serves fine Ale, and pub food from around local areas. Some of which is even grown in the pub garden!
There is also a youth club and primary school.
It also has a football and cricket club where new members are welcome to play.
The village is very popular with locals. Local man Jim Oatley stated: "I grew up in Horsley and it is a pleasure living here. The beautiful countryside and friendly people are always welcoming and it really is a lovely place to be"
