For the term relating to feeding, see -vore.Vorarephilia (often misspelled voreaphilia or voraphilia, or shortened to vore) is a sexual fetish and paraphilia where arousal occurs from the idea of being eaten, eating another, or watching this process. The fantasy may include digestion.
The word vorarephilia is derived from the Latin vorare (to 'swallow' or 'devour') and Ancient Greek φιλία (philia, 'love'), while phagophilia comes from φάγειν (phagein, to 'chew' or 'gnaw').

Vorarephilia is a fetish, or sexual fantasy that involves macrophilia, where in the fantasy of a giant's world, the person is eaten. Sometimes this is microphilia and the role is reversed so the person role plays and eats someone else.
Vorarephilia, known by the short word vore, is most often expressed in creative writing. and sometimes artistic creation. Classical literture often contains episodes of vore, usually involving consumption by animals, but sometimes by giant men and women, or gods. Greek mythology has many vore stories, like Theseus and The Minotaur, and The Odyssey. In modern literature and media, vore is a subject of episodes and scenes within the story. Jaws, Jurassic Park and Star Wars all have episodes that revolve around the fantasy consumption of people as vore. Many religions have a vore aspect to them, where a religious symbol or icon is to be consumed, to become one and part of the other participant.
Vore as a sexual fetish stimulates the release of endorphins in the brain, culminating with sexual orgasm and climax, and like other related pleasures, becomes something the vorarephile desires to repeat and re-experience. Vore fantasies may be focused to one area of the digestive or reproductive system, and is often categorized as oral, anal, penile and vaginal vore.
Oral vore involves fantasy play with the tongue, which may lead to being swallowed, and may include time spent in the stomach, possibly involving digestion. Anal vore involves the anus and rectum, where the fantasy play may involve scat, including vorarephile tranformation into scat, or containment within scat in order to experience defectation. Penile vote involves penetration of the urethra and expulsion from the penis by ejaculation, and sometimes converstion into semen for the same result. Vaginal vore is the female equivalent, where the vorarephile may penetrate the vagina for the experience of birth.
Vore is not to be confused or associated with cannibalism. Literature and media that feature cannibalism, such as Silence of the Lambs is not vore related. </gallery>
