Blanking

Hi, please do not leave blank pages behind you, they can be confusing to users. You can use the redirect feature, for example #REDIRECT ] to connect all duplicates with misspelt titles together. Here is the standard blurb about blank pages:

Please do not replace Misplaced Pages pages or sections with blank content. It is considered vandalism. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks.

Aniconism

Hi,

I liked your message over at the cartoons' talk page. I wanted to ask if you would consider contributing to the Aniconism page, a related subject that is poorly understood, and clearly can use a lot of expansion. Thanks - Tempshill 03:42, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for taking time to read my message at the cartoons' talk page. Aniconism is a controversial topic among Muslim scholars. I have read the article and I realize that it needs more clarification. I'll see what can I do and will try to post most accurate information. Thanks again! Szhaider 20:56, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Abrar-ul-Haq.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Abrar-ul-Haq.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Zsinj 20:02, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

I will try to find and upload another image of Abrar with known copyright information. Right now, I cannot find any copyright information about this image. Szhaider 02:11, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Aziz Mian Qawwal.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aziz Mian Qawwal.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. SteinbDJ 02:53, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Wikiethics

Hi,

We started a proposal Misplaced Pages:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.

Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.

Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.

If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Misplaced Pages:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...

Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 22:23, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:NS1.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:NS1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Need your Help

I need support in editing the page for Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh from Pakistani-Wikipedians. The page concludes Pakistans link to 9/11 using information from Indian press and much information in that page is without proper references. The page says that ISI gives money to Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Sheikh then wired the money to Atta. I have checked some of the references on that page and information in the references is different from what is mentioned in it. I will appreciate any help because I have very less free time these days... Faisal 16:58, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

I Need your help once again

The concept of Muslim being brother (all for one, one for all) is not a new concept. We being Muslims believe in Khilafat, the concept created by Muhammad (PBUH) and that concept was not created in 1900 as described in the articles with names Pan-Islamism and Muslim Unity. I wish if you can help in doing major modification in Pan-Islamism and Muslim Unity articles. I do not know that what the need of these articles is when a good article of Khilafat already exists. I will really appreciate you help. --- Faisal 21:00, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:FuzönLarge.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:FuzönLarge.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for Image:Abrar.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Abrar.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Misplaced Pages articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Over-linking

I believe you are referring to the edits to Roosevelt Island? Refer to Misplaced Pages:Only make links that are relevant to the context. I felt that a link to Setting (fiction) was not entirely relevant to the context of the article, which is about Roosevelt Island. The island was a setting, true, but the article is not about fiction, film, or something of that nature, which would be appropriate for the link. --Larry V (talk | contribs) 12:48, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. Don't do this again. And its also a warning. Szhaider 14:08, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! You make the point. I agree. Szhaider 14:35, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

I cannot understand one thing - why do you insist on making Urdu bold, and then why not the others? Its a silly issue. You needn't be concerned that Urdu will be confused by readers as Arabic or not given enough value as the other transliteration. This is a silly issue over which you have broken 3RR. Rama's arrow

India

Why do consider India to be a threat to world peace and humanity? India pwns 69.158.61.72 02:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC) Szhaider doesnt only consider India a threat to world peace and humanity,we as civilized people oppose all sorts of state terrorism.Nadirali 03:16, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

Question

Hi Szhaider - may I ask why you insist on making the Urdu transliteration in articles bold? I can't understand why you would be willing to fight edit wars and risk a 3RR block like you already did for seemingly trivial point? Cheers, Rama's arrow 14:17, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Readability! Principle! Pipe like structure of Arial's Urdu font! Szhaider 18:10, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Look Szhaider, the Urdu transliteration is clearly visible and readable - no Indic, Cyrillic or any other script requires such bold fonts. People who don't know Urdu aren't gonna benefit anyway. I don't find your explanation convincing because you chose to make Urdu bold but not Indic script transliterations - you also removed Indic script from the Sindhi transliteration at Karachi. I request you to discuss with other editors before making such unilateral changes. Your behavior is not acceptable as you are an Urdu WP administrator. Rama's arrow 18:20, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Indian scripts in Pakistan related pages are irrelevant (even in Allama Iqbal's article). As far as Urdu bold fonts are concerned, I stand by my point. Szhaider 18:53, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Ignorant Behaviour

I strongly condemn your behaviour over wikipedia articles. It seems that you just want to increase no of edits. Misplaced Pages community will never allow such persons having no knowledge of an article and editing and removing things from them as you have done to my created articles like Sheikhan Lalian etc. Abulfazl 06:50, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I strongly condemn any kind of personal attacks. You should discuss the matter at the relevent talk page instead of here. Word Shaikhan has its roots in Arabic then what's point of adding Gurmukhi. In addition, Shaikhan is in Pakistan where Gurmukhi is not used. As far as Lalian is concerened, English spellings and Urdu/Punjabi word's pronunciation are cleary very different. Either one of them has to be wrong. I think for a town as unknown as Lalian you should provide some kind of citation. Szhaider 13:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Jal

Salaam Szhaider! I really appreciate your efforts to add the Urdu script to South Asian articles. One of the reasons I think it's a good idea to keep the Hindi script on the Jal article is because the band has much fame in India. Several of their songs were in Indian Bollywood movies and right now, the band is touring in India in several cities (Jal Official Website). Because Hindi and Urdu are standard registers of the same language and Jal has a large audience in both Pakistan and India, I believe it's okay to have both the Perseo-Arabic and Devanagari script on the article. In fact, Bollywood articles have both scripts for the same reason (i.e. Fanaa, Sarkar, Amitabh Bachchan, etc.) In light of these facts, I hope you don't mind me reinserting the Hindi script for the Jal article. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please let me know. Thanks for your understanding. Khuda hafiz, Anupam 04:12, 16 October 2006 (UTC).

Putting Hindi (or Divangari) in first line alongside Urdu gives a wrong idea as if Divangara is standard in the Band's country of origin. You can put Divangari in Etymology section whcih will make more sense as Jal is a very informal and almost obselete word in Urdu. Thanks! Szhaider 05:56, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

A correction for the record

I do not add Urdu scripts to specifically Indian articles. I add Urdu script to only those articles whcih are relevent to Pakistan. Szhaider 05:56, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Image:Rambo sahiba.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Rambo sahiba.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Chowbok 20:49, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Visual Basic 6 and Misplaced Pages

Are there any guidelines available for connecting Misplaced Pages with a software written in Visual Basic 6? I am intending to write a software for Urdu Misplaced Pages for quickly editing and repairing common mistakes. Szhaider 23:11, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

You should post this at WP:BOTS to get a response. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 18:10, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I have already started to work on my project. I think I have figured out a way by myself. Szhaider 19:10, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
I suggest you look into WP:AWB. It is a software program that helps fix common spelling mistakes and does much more. You will have to make sure the program allows for editing Urdu wiki. If Urdu is not listed, request for it to be added on the talk page. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 19:56, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Dont forget to add Saudi Arabia's flag

I saw the group of flags in your list of countries that are a threat to democracy.I have to say I 100% agree with you.I would just like to suggest Saudi Arabia's flag. Reasons: -It's a dictatorship closely allied with America -it supports political terrorism in Pakistan -It considers Pakistanis(as well as all south asians) as "miskins" or "beggars"

If you are uncomfartable with adding the green flag with "there is no God but Allah and Muhammed is his messenger",then simply place the tale logo of Saudi Arabian airlines as a flag to a draw a line between Islam and Saudi fanaticism.ThankyouNadirali 16:27, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

Thankyou

I also agree aobut religious scripts being used on flags such as SA,Iran etc.

Im glad you agree with me.This is how wikipedia should spread with colloboration of people who seek truth and knowledge where they can share that truth and knowledge. Nadirali 16:57, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

Removal of project tags

I would request you not to remove project tags from talk pages. The idea of tagging articles is not to mark territory, but to improve the related articles. These articles will otherwise be invisible to the project members. Further discussion on this can be found here. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 22:23, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Agreed.--D-Boy 23:45, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree you do have a point that pre-1947 "History of India" articles should be neither Republic of India nor Pakistan-specific. At present, material of History of India is largely duplicated at History of Pakistan. This is not satisfactory, and I would support a merger of the two articles to History of South Asia. History of Pakistan and History of the Republic of India should both just treat the post-1947 period, while History of India and History of South Asia should be the same article. If you want to adopt this question, a polite and balanced proposal should be made to Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Indian history (while unilateral changes are pointless, they will just be reverted if no consensus is established first). dab () 08:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC) I disagree. That would be saying that Chinese history belongs to all of east Asia, when in fact it belongs to China.FOr sure it should be Pakistani history specificly.Nadirali 16:20, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

If you continue to remove India project tag, I will have to report you to WP:ANI and it will result in a block. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 17:19, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

supporting the removal of the refferences of the Indus

Szhaider,if Gansk does report you to the board of wikipedia administrators as he threatens,I want to add my full support for your edit wars and removal of unjustified tags on the page. The memembers of the board will hear my full support for your actions if members of the board do have to intervine or demand an explaination,I offer full verbal support.I already informed Gansk of my support for your edit actions.

The history of south asia page is as neutral as it can get, though I preffer it to be placed on the Pakistani history page and be left alone there.

Need some support as well

Hello Szhaider, thanks for appriciating my support.I'll need some support from you as well as well as other honest wikipedians to fight the growing corruption here on wikipedia.

User:Erielhonan has personal problems with me and is now threatening to report my "bad behaviour" and so-called "hostility" to the wikipedia board of administrators. This is her retaliation for a personal fued between us and a direct abuse of authority as an administrator.

I warned her that I vowed to fight corrupt administrators who use their powers for personal benifit.I did not accuse her of corruption or double-game,but I simply warned her that all wikipedians must have equal rights and those who try to overcome the rights of others as users or administrators will be reported. She merely rebuffed my warnings as "threats to shut wikipedia" and "crusade posture"

She also called my comments on talk pages "very nationalist".I'll need someone to help me correct that lable she has given my comments.

If this user/administrator does report me based on her false alligations,I will need some support from you.If members of the wikipedia administrators board do question me.

Please as soon as you get this message,go to her talk page and read what I have said, before deciding what allegations she has made are true or not.If you beleive what I say is true,I'll need you to help convince her Write to her.(Her conversations have been archived but the box is on the discussion page) Thanks alot,I will be very grateful if you do this for me as a freind and fellow wikipedian.Nadirali 03:14, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

Hello Szhaider.I Dont think I'll be needing the support after all.I think I finally outsmarted this person and she also realized she couldnt prove anything against me in order to seek administrative assistance. But thanks anyway. However, the corruption of some administrators does worry me.You were right to say user/administrator Granesh is part of the dispute. After reading his threats to report you to the administrative board,I also read of another Indian user who was part of the dispute, removing tags, just gets a request to stop doing what he's doing instead of getting a threat to be reported.I'll see what I can do about it later.Best regards.Nadirali 16:20, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Nadirali

i dont understand

How can you honestly say that you consider India to be a threat to world peace, when Pakistan is the reason why India did not sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in the first place!!! If anyone is a threat to world peace, it's countries like Pakistan that have no sense of peace and calmality in the world. If Pakistan was not such an aggresive and violent neighbour India would be at much more peace.Second of all, you say that you believe that Afghanistan is a threat to world peace.Pakistan, however, contradictially, along with the I.S.I is hiding Afghanistani based terriorists, and is a world known fact that it hid Usama Bin Laden form being caught for his evils, who was "coincidentally" from Afghanistan, a country he called home and loved.... Family History

This user is interested in their family history.

Hi SzHaider, I saw the above request on your userpage. It seems that you're quite interested in knowing about your family history. It's always good to have a keen interest in the knowledge of one's history. And I think it's my duty to let you know about your family history. Yeah, I know very much about your family history. Your family origins trace back to the region of Punjab. Your ancestors were Hindus and your family converted to Islam some two centuries ago. Since then you've been a Punjabi nationalist. But the point remains that your ancestors were Kaffirs and you're too one. We Balochis are the real nationalists and we'll defeat you guys.

Your recent deletion of an article on Saeed khan Rangeela is vandalism. The article was written by a renowned newspaper of Pakistan. You can also verify the information by google search on Saeed Khan Rangeela. Your editing is false and full of insufficient reliable published sources independent of the subject. Moreover, the emphasis should be on Saeed Khan Rangeela and not on some Unknown looser Jamil Khan who have no record of anysort. I hope you don't mess up with my eidting again.

Thanks. It was some confusion on my part. I took the previous editor's changes to mean that he played for Kukmang and thought of moving it down from the intro if it is not a major team. Tintin (talk) 02:52, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

advise needed

Hello Szhaider,it's Nadirali.

In regards to the Pakhub article which was "legally deleted" under pressure from Indian nationalists and laballed as "spam",I may repost it,but the problem is it was quickly voted to be removed and I fear the same again.

The vote seemed quite "fair" in the rather short "discussion" of Indian and jewish voters.

The article is not spamming as Pakhub is a non-for profit site. There are articles on for profit sites such as ebay. There are also articles on sites such as youtube and stormfront, but niether are laballed "spam" for obvious reasons.

How should I be able to re-post the Pakhub article without them having it "voted" out? I seek your advise because you've dealt with these nationalists and biased administrators in the past.

Happy New year and Eid mubarak.

Jon/Joan/Jaun Elia

Hi,
In the arlicle on Jon Elia, his name is spelt 3 different ways. Up until #Life, it is "Jon", then it is once spelt "Joan", then in the rest of the article it is spelled "Jaun" and occasionally "Jon". I do realise that all three are ways of rendering the original into English. Indeed, Googling "Jon Elia" urdu gives 612 hits (number 1 the fine article itself :-)), "Jaun Elia" urdu gives 385 an d "Joan Elia" urdu gives 23.
However, should the transliteration used in the article's title be used all the way through, and a note made of the variations? I found it initially a little confusing.
Await your thoughts. --Shirt58 04:37, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you - done. Please check out the updated article to see what you think.
Eid al-Adha Hajj mubarak ho! (Is that the right thing to say? I'm relying on a website about polite Urdu}.

Please leave salwar kameez article alone

Please please don't drag the salwar kameez article into the morass of Indo-Pak hostility and posturing. I'm trying to keep that stuff OUT of the article. I'm not Indian, I'm not Pakistani, but I sew and wear salwar kameez, I work on costume history articles. So far, we've been keeping the nationalism out of costume history. Clothes don't belong to any particular nation/religion/culture. They're too easily imitated. Clothing fashions change and spread. Especially salwar kameez, because they're comfortable :)

Look at my user page and talk page and note how many times I've been called a Pakistani and how much some of the Indian editors hate me. I'm not resisting you because I'm some militant Indian nationalist. Don't react with blind determination to "claim" the article for Pakistan. Zora 07:35, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

WP:UP

Hi, I think the threats to World Peace template on your userpage is distasteful and violates the guidelines set out in WP:UP. Your user page is not for you to express your own opinions. I am sure you are a nice person and a good wikipedian and ask for you to remove it. Thanks. frummer 12:49, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Chand Raat

Szhaider, thanks for expanding the article. I noticed in your edits, you spelled the festival as Chaand Raat as opposed to Chand Raat. Your way of transliteration is more accurate as the word is pronounced with a long a. Would you mind if I moved the article from Chand Raat to Chaand Raat? With regards, Anupam 00:25, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your input. I'll go ahead and make the move. Shukria, Anupam 00:36, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: Jinnah and Iqbal

Hi Szhaider - I don't want to get into a revert war. I draw your attention to this discussion, which resulted in a consensus to distinguish the nationals of the Republic of India from those of previous times by a providing a link to India (disambiguation). However, it does not change the fact that both Jinnah and Iqbal are known as "Indians." There was never any British South Asia, British Indian or any such compromise - Jinnah and Iqbal are both on record describing themselves and the country as "India." Even Iqbal's address of Allahabad referred to a Muslim state for northwestern "India." Rama's arrow 04:04, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

You cannot claim anything as "Facts" when you provide no references. Additionally, you have been warned many times not to engage in revert-wars - you insist on renewing the very same content disputes that have been previously tackled many times over. Please inform yourself of the following - WP:POINT, WP:NPOV, WP:CITE, WP:BLP. And I might warn you that POV-pushing, which you openly avow is absolutely unacceptable. Rama's arrow 00:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
I can easily counter about a "Paki" cabal, can't I? So don't lets get into accusations. What WP wants is reliable sources and NPOV and you cannot ignore convention. I have never ever heard of anybody being described as from the "Indian subcontinent" or "British South Asia." These have never been ways to describe somebody - no subject of the British Empire as been known as "British Indian," "British Nigerian," etc. Don't invent terms to suit your perceptions.
It is to your advantage to see the behavior of user:Spasage. He and I had a frank discussion by which we resolved this very issue. A broader discussion with many users resulted in a good guiding principle. I respect the fact that the "India" pre-1947 was different, but you can't stop using the term "Indian" as you cannot revise history. The people of that era were always known as Indians. Jinnah and Iqbal always spoke in terms of India and Indians. Iqbal called for a separate state for the "Muslims of northwestern INDIA." The "partition of India" was a term coined for that very purpose. I don't care if you don't agree - this is convention and widely-accepted, which means we can't invent new terms and interpretations. That's not what WP is for - if you want to argue a new interpretation, do it somewhere else. Rama's arrow 17:13, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
P.S. - this is hardly "my" version. Both Jinnah and Iqbal are featured articles, approved by the community of editors as amongst the best on Misplaced Pages. Rama's arrow 17:56, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Please see this diff, and explain it. Yuser31415 23:40, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Simply because someone is continually edit warring does not mean that is an excuse for making personal attacks. In fact, you should be doing the opposite - staying cool, and taking it to the administrator's noticeboard if needed. Unfortunately, this has given Rumpel a chance to report you on WP:ANI#Many Personal attacks from User:Szhaider, with diffs to back it up. An apology might be suffice. On second thoughts, I will strikethrough my warning; I see your intentions were good, but please, next time you find yourself in a similiar situation, keep your WP:COOL. Take your problem to WP:ANI. There are lots of people who are more than willing to help you.

No personal attacks, please

With regards to your comments on Purdah: Please see Misplaced Pages's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Pajamas and India

I have changed "India" to "South Asia" in the Pajamas article in all the places where it can be done (i.e. outside of a direct quote). Thanks for your comment. I agree "South Asia" is the correct (and more neutral term). BTW, I am not Hindu and (although I would love to own a few plantations on a tropical island) I'm not an imperialist either as you suggested in one of your edit summaries. Sorry about mispelling your name. I'll be more mindful in the future; it's just that where I live Sch... is a common last name beginning. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 00:00, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

A fact. See his conributions on Pakistani movies, songs, and multiple Islamic articles. Szhaider 00:55, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Do you really believe you can eliminate all people you disagree with by bullying them? There is no reason to call someone "obsessed" and commandeer them "Stop doing it" if he doesn't violate any of our policies. — Sebastian 01:12, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
What would you call Indianizing articles and adding irrelevent script and vigorously resisting if corrected. Szhaider 01:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
This is the ANI report filed, on basis on which a lengthy block is justified. Rama's arrow 00:52, 8 January 200 7 (UTC)
Thank you, Arrow, you did the right thing. That said, Szhaider may have a point about your name. I'm no expert, but I'm willing to take the complaint seriously. Szhaider, when you're unblocked and you still feel that way, give me a message, and we'll take it from there. But only if you promise to follow WP:NPA from now on. — Sebastian 00:59, 8 January 2007 (UTC) (addition 01:03, 8 January 2007 (UTC))
As I have told Yuser31415 they were not deliberate personal attacks. In my belief, my messages have been interpreted wrongly although I asumed good faith in posting them. As I have mentioned that User:Anupam has vigorously added Devangari scripts to tens of Pakistan and Islam related articles. He even supported Gurmukhi scrip in Abrar-ul-Haq article too. He often adds Indic scripts to totally irrelevent articles and User:Rama's Arrow has always supported him. As for my userpage, I do feel extremely offeneded if I or my ancestors are attributed with any religion other than Islam. See the offence on my talk page. Szhaider 01:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
For goodness' sake! I could laugh at all this if not for your behavior. How many times I've attempted to get you to discuss and resolve problems? I even cited an example where we resolved the Indo-Pak nationality question with great decency, as Wikipedians. And I beg your pardon most strongly when I say, if somebody made a callous remark you respond with insinuating that it is an insult to be called "Hindu," and start firing off against Hindu editors with choice words such as "Hindu imperialism," "Indian cabal???" Do you interpret WP:NPA as non-applicable for an eye-for-an-eye response? You knew that the fellow who made that callous remark was obviously a POV-pusher, so why take him seriously and make a court case out of it by letting others know that you will not stand being associated with Hinduism? You dig your own grave by making such insensitive and offensive comments. Rama's arrow 01:25, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
You are an extremely biased admin. I am amazed you got this position. You have been very active to support Hindu editors in edit wars by not taking any action when they were engaged in edit wars. You yourself should be blocked for violating 3RR rule in Iqbal. Even your nickname is a symbol of Hindu imperialism and POV pushing. You are the one of the worst violators of Misplaced Pages policies. It is not your position to block any user. Szhaider 01:35, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
You do realize that you're still under WP policies, rite? If you keep making accusations and attacks, I or another admin can and prolly will extend your block. Please take this time to cool off and revisit the policies - if the block is upheld, the least you can do is to learn from your mistakes and return a calmer, better editor. I have no concern regarding your POVs - that is not my business nor of any use to me - but I do expect a change in conduct. Rama's arrow 01:47, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
And you are too under WP policies which you have been violating. You should unblock me as a violator cannot accuse others. I am cool but you should stop taking side silently and should be as neutral as possible otherwise, I will complain against you formally, as blocking me is one heck of a proof against you. Szhaider 01:53, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Pakistan-sport-bio-stub

Hi - it has come to our notice that you have recently created a new stub type. As it states at Misplaced Pages:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, on the template page for new Wikiprojects and in many other places on Misplaced Pages, new stub types should be proposed prior to creation at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies, and whether better use could be made of a WikiProject-specific talk page template.

In the case of your new stub type, there is no indicaction that it would meet the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any reason why this stub type should not be proposed for deletion at WP:SFD. And please, in future, propose new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 01:09, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

I doubt it will be deleted - it does look a useful stub type. It's worth proposing these things first, though, just in case there are any problems with them. In this case, for instance, it's quite likely the category name will be changed since other similar stub types are at "Fooian sportspeople stubs" rather than "Fooian sport biography stubs". I'm not 100% sure why that was settled on - I think it may have been a few articles about racehorses suddently popping up in sport-bio categories that were subtypes of "people stubs". Grutness...wha? 04:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Re:Irfan Husain

I was editing the Irfan Husain article and saw you had made some edits to it.I am directly related to this person. My question is do we have to add a Pakistan stub to his article since he isn't even Pakistani and has such a strong anti-Pakistan bias?He wasn't even born in Pakistan(born in India)nor does he have any Pakistani ancestry. If you read his articles or talk to him in person,he is a strong supporter of India's imperial policies and such has close ties to Indian nationalists and to the country in general.I think we should add the India stub instead. If you read his articles,he actually believes that London is a dangerous city because there are Pakistanis living there.Maybe if he was Pakistani I would not object to adding the Pak stub, but since he's not is all the more reason to remove it.--Nadirali نادرالی

Yeah you're actually right.yes he is Pakistani by citizenship if not by ethnicity. Thanks for taking the time to explain this.I think him being a resident of Pakistan(he moved to England a couple of years with his rich english wife) would be enough reason to add the stub.Again thanks alot for explaining. The only part I didn't get was what you said about his article becoming "a victim" of you're "edit sprees".What's an edit spree?

To be honest I saw really nothing wrong with your edits.

Pakistan project template

Someone has meesed up the Pakistan project template. Chck WP Pakistan inside the template spacing {{ }} and see what you get.Someone has been tampering with it.I'm not sure how to revert templates as I've only started to read up on it.--Nadirali نادرالی

The template is messed up again. The reason why I'm concerned is it now states that articles are incomplete or low quality. This is not always the case with Pakistan articles. The reason why i use the template is it can be part of the Pak project even if an article is in a good state.Simply so users know which project it's part of.The new form of the template makes claims which are not neccesarily true about the article.

My suggestion is we stick the original template and use this new one for incomplete or low quality articles such as these which needs to be throughly reviewed for changes or articles of similar quality.Thanks.:-).--Nadirali نادرالی

India-Pakistan evidence

Info The arbitration committee has asked that evidence presentations be kept to around 1000 words and 100 diffs. Your presentation is over 3000 words and 220 diffs. Please edit your section to focus on the most relevant evidence. For the arbitration committee, David Mestel 08:33, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I suggest you move all the extra evidence be placed to your statement. The arbitrators would take a look at it some point.Atleast they'll still see it. About the template,I didn't release it's still going through change,so i cannot comment on it until it's completed. But I agree we should keep working on it to improve it from it's present state.--Nadirali نادرالی

That's a recommendation, and it is up to the presenter's discretion to present their evidence as they see fit, but either way, the front page is used for the opening statements, not for extra stuff to be added during the case. There is no rule which enforces any length of evidence. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 02:44, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for adding it.Just one thing.Maybe you should revert the Urdu writing from "chicken" to "Murghi" as it's the correct word for it in Urdu.Again thanks alot for adding the Urdu version.--Nadirali نادرالی

It is called "Chicken Tikka" in Pakistan. The word "Murghi" is not used there for this dish. "Murghi" (female) or "Murgh" (male) are normally used for simple meal of chicken while "Murgh" (male) is also used for roast chicken. Szhaider 21:35, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

The script is correct. Your computer is not set up to show Bangla unicode. Nested parameters

Hi,

I wanted to add the support of nested templates for {{WP Pakistan}}. This would allow it to be added in the shell of {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}. You can see the examples of WikiProjects that use the nesting. They include {{WPMILHIST}}, {{WP India}}, and many more. The final result would be something similar to what can be seen on this page. Regards, — Ambuj Saxena () 15:28, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Your wish. But I think you misunderstood me on one thing. What I was talking about is, say for article on Muhammad Iqbal, which falls under the purview of other Wikiprojects such as Biography, Muslim scholars, etc., the size of the banner templates increases a lot. If they are nested in a shell, then things would look much better. — Ambuj Saxena () 15:46, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello Szhaider, I thought you might be interested in WikiProject Punjab as you seem to be an avid contributor to Punjabi realated articles. Your'e invited to join if you would like. Thanks, Anupam 22:26, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

My apologies for the mistake. I just thought you might be interested as your userpage indicates that you are a native speaker of Punjabi. Thanks for your efforts in improving WikiProject:Pakistan. As a member of the project, I recently added WikiProject:Punjab under the Descendant Projects section of the project's main page. Best wishes in your endeavors, Anupam 22:47, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Akhtar Hameed Khan

Have a look at the article, I added class and importance tags at Talk:Akhtar Hameed Khan but the assessment table at project page Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Pakistan doesn't seem to update. Any remedy? --IslesCape 23:35, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Arooj Aftab?

Hi Szhaider, you left a message on my talkpage that the Arooj Aftab page was to be deleted. I am not sure how/why I got this message, as I have no clue about the article under discussion. Perhaps you left the message in error? ---Madhu 15:44, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Salim Nasir

Hi! I saw your edit at Salim Nasir. Please don't use "born" and "died" for people who are dead. Instead just use the date - date. I could have made the change myself but I am unable due to browser problems. In good faith...--129.69.36.89 19:15, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Anon editor, I appreciate your concern. I used the word "born" because of the same browser problems that you are facing. Mixing number with Urdu script is a dangerous realm :-) If we knew his month of birth we could replace born with that month's name. Thanks! Szhaider 01:07, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Fakhar.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Fakhar.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Misplaced Pages articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell 18:57, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Shayad.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Shayad.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Aziz Mian Qawwal.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aziz Mian Qawwal.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Misplaced Pages's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:07, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

{{help}}My block should have been over three months ago on March 04, 2008. What's happening? Some one, who obviously belongs to a group which started an edit war culminating on my ban, has extended my ban without even consulting any other admin. Is power gone insane? Szhaider (talk) 02:32, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

According to here, your block isn't scheduled to expire until 30 August 2008. Why were you using socks? BoL (Talk) 02:40, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
I never used socks. This notion is a brainchild of a prejudiced admin. A mere glance on his user page can give a very good idea of his inclinations. He never presented any proof to support his claims. Szhaider (talk) 22:36, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

i-post

Email to Postal Mail

A convenient free postal mail service which can deliver email messages all over Pakistan. Peoples can now use their email to send letters giving you another route to communicate with others who are not connected to the Internet in Pakistan.

In recent past Internet and e-mail have revolutionized the world of communications. But those who do not have easy access to Internet and e-mail facilities could not get benefits of this facility. In its endeavour to make the benefits of e-mail available to a common man, Al Tayyeb Group has introduced i-post service. By i-post all those who do not have computer or do not have access to Internet can send e-mail by Post Office or receive e-mail through a postman. Those who have access to Internet can also send i-post to those who do not have access to Internet.

Misplaced Pages should have an article on this social service & must be a part of WikiProject Pakistan. Please comments. --SaqibChaudhry (talk) 09:23, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

{{Help|What is the problem of User: Blnguyen? He keeps accusing me falsly and extends my ban unilaterly without presenting any proof. He seems to have psychological issues against me. I believe he is a racist and working under his strong anti-Pakistan prejudiced inclinations. First he extended my ban from March 2008 to August 2008. As soon as my ban was over on August 2008, he extended my ban to September 2009. My question is: Does User: Blnguyen own Misplaced Pages? Is Misplaced Pages his personal property that he decideds who stays and who leaves? Should such a person who works for his own personal vendettas be even an Admin?}}

Unblock

Request reason:

I never evaded my ban yet User: Blnguyen keeps extending my ban. The articles that I used to maintain are now in shambles, riddled with nonsense. I believe User: Blnguyen is working as a proxy for User:Rama's Arrow and company. User:Rama's Arrow was stripped off of his admin status because of his hawkishly disruptive behaviour against many Wikipedians including me. User:Rama's Arrow was always picking fights and banning his opponents and helping his supporters evade Misplaced Pages rules and policies. User: Blnguyen was a staunch supporter of User:Rama's Arrow. Given the history of User: Blnguyen with me and his inability or unwillingness to provide any proof against me to support his claims I challenge User: Blnguyen's neutrality and request investigation into his behaviour by an independent admin. I have reasons to believe that whatever User: Blnguyen presents against me, I have proofs to counter his claims.

Decline reason:

I have little doubt that the account is yours, and so your 1 year ban has been reset. If you can last a year without resorting to sockpuppetry or personal attacks then maybe you will be able to return. — Kevin (talk) 22:43, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Adolf Hitler

I just want to take a few seconds to praise Adolf Hitler. He was one of the greatest leaders Europe ever produced. Alas, he was a victim of his own success; however, his support for Brahmin lineage and its preservation are guidelines for those who support Vedic renaissance. Hitler's efforts will always be the practical guide for the holy warriors of Great vedic civilizations.

Image copyright problem with Image:Moin Scene.jpg== Thanks for uploading Image:Moin Scene.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Misplaced Pages's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hi

Hi went through your contriblution page and saw that you are pretty active with the paksitan military stuff. I'm planning to expand the Nirbhay missile article in accordance to the Babur missile. Just require some general infomation of which planes, shipes if any have been custimised so that they can fire the Babur. In indian articles finding this is very easy and after going through many of the articles of the pakistani ships or aircraft its seems none of them can actually launch the babur. If i'm wrong pl. correct me. Is it that for the time being it can only be luanched by TEL. Thanks in advance for your time. If u would like to do the same just go the india and weapons of mass destruction article I have added all the launch platforms of the indian ships there. And i would like to do something similar with the pakistani version and with improving the nirbhay article.Enthusiast10 (talk) 16:41, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Sohail.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Sohail.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:03, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Articles "riddled with nonsense"

Hi szhaider. I was reading your unblocking appeal that is written above right now, and one of your phases caught attention by me where you mentioned that the "articles you used to mantain are now in shambles, riddled by nonsense." If this really is so, them I am one person that is definitely concerned with this, since I try to keep an overview of almost every Pakistan-related article. If you believe there are still articles that are constituted with Indian bias, please email me whatever those articles are (only if you have time) at ali_rana_77@yahoo.com.au as you cannot write on my talk page for being blocked. I will take over this role and along with some of my other Pakistani Wikipedian friends, will get to the bottom of this myself now. Regards, Ali Teckgeek (talk) 11:56, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Anokha laadla.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Anokha laadla.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Misplaced Pages:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:36, 28 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:36, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

File size

Generally i find that anything with a width of 300px is suitable, so if you go with that you should be all good. You also might want to replace the information box with a fair use. Salavat (talk) 02:29, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Yeh looks good now, just remember if you resize an image to place the tag {{non-free reduced|~~~~~}} on the image page. Salavat (talk) 04:24, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Hello!!

Hi szhaider!

If you might have noticed, the article 2003 Afro-Asian Games has been rated C-class under Wikiproject india for a really long time. Do you think the article is now ready to become B-class? I request you to please see the article and review it, and post your comments, approval/disapproval of the move and your suggestions for further betterment.

Thanx.
