just wondering
Do you have a bot running? I just created this account as a test and got this within about a minuit, so I was curious. My friend's account, 1 black hand, did not get a welcome dispite many edits for at least a month after creation. I would like to know more about the ways users such as yourself find new users, as I was thinking about welcoming newcomers myself. Thank you, Akako
- I'm bored, so I decided to go to the New users log page and start welcoming people. It also helps me get warmed up for scrambler ^_^ Deckiller 02:06, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Welcoming
Just a quick tip when welcoming new users, you should subst the {{welcome}} template like so: {{subst:welcome}}. Include your signature at the end as usual. This is generally easier on the server, and makes the welcome message a little more personalized (if you don't subst it, you can edit/view the page source and see that you're just calling a template). It also helps server load, if I recall correctly. =) Anyways, keep up the good work. =) —Locke Cole 02:09, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
