I will surpass....

I will surpass the amount/quantity of categories that are on the footer of your page, and you can bet that one. I will soon take a count! Of course, there is no justification for this comment thus far so I must act something productive to it. Here: good job, you are a very good contributor, unlike myself, unfortunately. The Old Misplaced Pages

What exactly did the old wikipedia look like. Myself, being a simple guy, am curious. Эйрон Кинни 03:45, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for telling me about the "old version". As a matter of fact, I think I like it. Эйрон Кинни 03:54, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Of course, it would be quite hard for me to become accustomed to the replacement of different links and things like that. Does it differ any, or is the Classic skin just an exact clone? Эйрон Кинни 04:06, 11 December 2005 (UTC). P.S. I added you to my Yahoo! buddy list if it is alright with you.

Pathoschild's successful RfA

Thanks alot for your support on my request for adminship; it passed with 23/0/0 (plus one duplicate support and an oppose from a vandal IP). You're apparently doing something right, from the number of times your user page gets vandalised. Hopefully, I'll do as well. ;) // Pathoschild 09:46, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Salutations!

Rather a tyro at Misplaced Pages insofar, but I'm curious concerning where would be a nifty place for an assemblage of several UserBoxes not listed on the usual Userboxes.. Primarily the Geekish ones for myself.

Thanks for the forthcoming help! DrWho42 23:11, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Esperanza elections

File:Voting box clipart.gif
Hi Merovingian: This is a quick note just to let you know that there's an election under way at Esperanza. If you'd like to become a candidate for Administrator General or the Advisory Council, just add your name here by 15 December 2005. Voting begins at 12:00UTC on 16 December.

You've received this spam because you signed up for it here. To stop the spam, pop over and remove yourself and you'll never hear from Esperanza again!

gratie pra soporta tua

Hey Merovingian! Thanks for your support on my RfA. The final outcome was (57/4/3), so I am now an administrator. If you need help, have a question, or just want to chat (or if I get out of line!), please don't hesitate to let me know! Again, thanks! :D

My RfA

My adminship request was successful!
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you so much for your support of my RfA. The results of the request was 18/0/1. With the help of your support vote, I am now a bona-fide Misplaced Pages sysop/admin. I pledge to use my newfound powers for the good of Misplaced Pages and its editors. If you have anything to tell me, dont hesitate to "speak on it"!. --LBMixPro

Fixed. (I deleted an earlier sentence that mentioned who he was, and neglected to replace it later in the paragraph) Thanks for pointing it out, and note that if I do make a simple mistake like that, it's fine to fix it yourself...I won't have my assassins shoot you and throw you in the East River :) Ral315 (talk) 07:19, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Actually, neither could I. I linked to User:Daniel Mayer, which was then a redlink. User talk:Daniel Mayer was a redirect, though, so I figured it out :) Ral315 (talk) 07:33, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Orioane's RfA

Hey Merovingian! Thank you very much for your support on my RfA. To my amazement there were no negative or neutral votes and the result was (28/0/0). I am now an administrator so I'll try and do my best in this new position. I'll be happy to answer any comments or requests from you. Thanks one more time and good luck on the Arbitration Committee elections ;). Mihai - 20:14, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Good luck

Just wanted to say good luck to you in your Arb Com candidacy, Derktar 23:03, 13 December 2005 (UTC).

No problem, I do wonder how they will end up running the elections this year though. Derktar 23:06, 13 December 2005 (UTC).
Indeed if only real life were that simple. Derktar 23:10, 13 December 2005 (UTC).

Thanks for introducing yourself!

Your kind welcome and the information about how to automatically insert user details were a pleasant surprise. Thanks!

Hi Merovingian, thank you as well for encouraging me to start. I shall do my best. And have a nice Christmas -- €pa 03:04, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

There are other sources out there!

You deleted my article on DerekPerrone.com, with the reason of "only appears 7 times in google". There are other sources and other search engines out there, and the fact that you deleted my article is unjustified. (Note: I am not Derek Perrone, nor am I associated with his website. Therefore, I am not someone just trying to add their own stuff. People have addressed the fact that they would like to know more about DerekPerrone.com, and that is why I created the article, which you have deleted!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.255.133.142 (talkcontribs)

I had speedied the Derek Perrone article multiple times, by the way. For more from this user, see his rather colorful comments on my talk page. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 00:46, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

George W. Bush

According to brion, it kills the database to delete/undelete GWB, because the article has too many edits. When you want entries deleted, simply ask him. He has a much easier way of doing it. — 0918 • 2005-12-14 02:27

  • There's no point in protecting the article. The vandal will just go to pages that aren't watched as much as GWB, and his vandalism will stay for longer. --BRIAN0918 03:03, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Semi-protection

I saw you just reverted vandalism on George W. Bush, and wondered what you thought about the proposals to curb what's going on there. If you have time, check out Misplaced Pages:Semi-protection policy, and weigh in (there's something of a large discussion page, so be prepared. For a quick run-through of what's been said and done, see #rehashing) Hope to see you there. -Mysekurity 04:40, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Alhutch's RfA

Dear Merovingian,

I'm an administrator, and I've got you to thank for it! Thanks to your support, my RfA passed 25/0. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can help you with anything. See you around the wiki, :-) Alhutch 05:48, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

P.S. I like your user name a lot

SoLando's RFA

Hi Merovingian, thank you for voting in support of my RFA; the result was (28-0-0 ). I hope that I am able to fulfil the expectations that accompany being an admin. If you see me mess up anywhere, have any concerns, please don't hesitate to tell me! Take care. SoLando (Talk) 09:49, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

My RFA

I noticed your neutral vote in my RFA. If there is any concern that you have that I may be able to answer questions about or anything else that you may need to make a decision. Please feel free to let me know and I'll be happy to help. Thank for participating!Gator (talk) 13:18, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. That makes perfect sense and I figured that's what you were doing. Let me know what evidence I can provide you or if there are any particular issues that I might be able to addess (I'm trying to keep quiet on the RFA nad jsut let everyone talk) and I'll be happy to do it. Thanks!Gator (talk) 00:08, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

I am, truly, honored. You made my evening (it's still what 3 or 4 o clock in Juneau right lol). Thanks! I hope others follow suit, because I would love to be able to have a mop and bucket and help out more in a place I have come to really respect and enjoy. Thanks again, man.Gator (talk) 00:18, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you!

A Jaffa Cake for you from CLW!

Many thanks for your support during my RfA – following a 30/0/0 vote I’ve now been made an admin. Do have a Jaffa Cake! Cheers, CLW 13:53, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

My recent rfa (edited a bit to not clash)

Dear Merovingian, I wanted to thank you for your support during my recent RfA. :) --Syrthiss 21:27, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Me too, I thank you for having the confidence in me to be an admin. Thanks again! SWD316 00:41, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Wow, your sig is now confusing as hell. I seriously thought you were User:King of all the Franks. Franks, as in hot dogs. Yeah, I'm stupid sometimes. android79 00:51, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Re: Sparks Page Change

Merovingian,

I only mentioned the Hitler moustache because Sparks themselves mention in the song, "Moustache" on the "Angst in My Pants" album. I am not a troll, but a regular user who doesn't log in regularly. Yours with wikiness, Two Halves

Open proxy backlog

Thanks alot for the help with the open proxy backlog, much appreciated. :) // Pathoschild 04:45, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

AOL block

Please note that you have blocked an AOL proxy address -- which randomly rotates among users. AOL users cannot control which number they are assigned, and blocking the number for any length of time is ineffective in fighting vandalism. Please see my user page User:WBardwin/AOL Block Collection for a history of adminstrative discussion and action regarding these blocks. They seem to hit me often. Please release your block. Information below. Thank you. WBardwin 05:58, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Your IP address is 207.200.116.202. Please include this address, along with your username, in any queries you make.

Your user name or IP address has been blocked by Merovingian.

The reason given is: Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Kkkboi". The reason given for Kkkboi's block is: "vandal/troll".

come on, Ryan............. 24 hours???, please. I've got work I want to get finished this evening. Won't have time to get back to it for at least a week. I'm innocent -- AOL assigns the numbers. Thank you. WBardwin 06:51, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. Sorry to sound irritated, but it's always annoying to be punished for the sins of others. And its a busy time for me and the recreation value of wiki is invaluable to my stress level. Although I've been asked to consider becoming an administrator, I've avoided committing primarily because fighting vandals seems a highly stressful activity. Sorry if I added to that problem. Best wishes. WBardwin 08:07, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

This type of censorship makes me sick

Pro-life celebrities category up for deletion

Hi, I see that you are listed as a Roman Catholic Wikipedian, well the Pro-life celebrities category is up for deletion. Category:Pro-life celebrities I think this is an interesting and worth while category. Afterall not all celebrities are pro-abortion. Dwain 02:47, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Help!

There is an unregistered user who is constantly vandalizing the Evansville, Indiana page to include a vanity link to his website. The user in question is Evansvilleboneyard and the website in question is Evansville Boneyard. Despite consistent removal by a number of contirbutors, he/she continues to add it back to the Evansville page with such things as "widely read", etc. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest it is encyclopedia worthy and the user should be warned and/or banned. We could really use your help in removing these pointless links and keeping this guy from adding them back.--YHoshua 03:33, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Re:Block

Thanks for message. As a fellow Admin I know that alot of people get blocked because they share the same AOL IP. That's why I believe that Wiki should change it's policy from "Everyone can edit" to "Everyone who's registered can edit". This is done in other websites and if a person vandalizes the site then the specific person is punished and not a large group. Anyway, thanks again and take care Tony the Marine 05:34, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
