General David John Ramsbotham GCB CBE (b. 1934) is cross-bencher of the House of Lords and a son of the former Bishop of Wakefield, John Alexander Ramsbotham. Nicknamed "Rambo", he served in Northern Ireland and was Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons from 1995 to 2001. On 17 May 2005, he was created Baron Ramsbotham.
