It was later covered by Trudy Pitts on her debut album Introducing the Fabulous Trudy Pitts (1967).
"Spanish Flea" was used as the "Bachelor’s Theme" on the long-running American television show The Dating Game.
It was also featured on an episode of The Simpsons, where it was sung by leading character Homer with made-up lyrics:
- There was a little Spanish flea
- A record star he thought he'd be
- He heard of singers like Beatles
- And the chipmunks he'd seen on TV...
- Why not a Little Spanish flea?
