The Iturup Strawberry (Fragaria iturupensis) is a species of strawberry, endemic to Iturup in the Kuril Islands. It is noted to have relatively large berries for a wild species, similar in appearance to those of Fragaria virginiana. /publications.htm?SEQ_NO_115=177440 Abstract].

Polyploidy

All strawberries have a base haploid count of 7 chromosomes. Fragaria iturupensis is decaploid, thus it has ten (10) pairs of these chromosomes for a total of 70.
