Jason Gastrich writes a topical, weekly devotional message and sends it to JCSM's email subscribers. He also broadcasts a weekly devotional message on the internet. He began this ministry in 1997.

Mr. Gastrich is known for his rebuttal to The Skeptic's Annotated Bible (an atheist Bible commentary). His ministry has published The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained and The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained, Collegiate Workbook. It has also published a how-to book on internet success called, Maximizing the Internet: 12 Keys to Success. All proceeds from these book sales go to JCSM.

Mr. Gastrich is also known for his debates and lectures. As a proponent of biblical creation, biblical inerrancy, and the Christian belief system, he has attracted a number of debate opponents that include ex-pastors, atheists, activists, skeptics, authors, radio personalities, and professors.

Between 2003-2005, at the bi-annual Missions, Apologetics, and Creation Bible Conferences Gastrich lectured alongside Duane Gish, John D. Morris (president of the Institute for Creation Research), Mike Gendron, Mike Riddle, and Kent Hovind and debated lawyer/atheist/activist Eddie Tabash.

In addition to directing JCSM, Mr. Gastrich is the director of The National Life Journal. The NLJ broadcasts a live, weekly show where Gastrich discusses issues that are important to religious freedom (e.g. abortion, politics, creation/evolution, etc.).

Education

In 1997, Mr. Gastrich completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at San Diego State University. He also earned a Minor in English. He continued his education at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia where he made the Dean's List. However, he returned to his California home in 1999 and later completed his Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University (Shreveport, Louisiana).

Mr. Gastrich is currently in LBU's distance learning program. He is a Ph.D. candidate in their Biblical Studies program and is expecting his degree in May, 2006.

He is a licensed soccer coach, designs and hosts professional web sites, and teaches guitar, bass, and keyboard lessons. Mr. Gastrich is also a credentialed teacher and he has taught elementary school, middle school, high school, and college courses.

Gastrich is not a fundementalist no matter what he claims. --Bible John 05:48, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Bibliography

Jesus Christ Saves Ministries

Jesus Christ Saves Ministries (JCSM) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that began in San Diego, California in 1997. It was created by Jason Gastrich and was a simple ministry to hurting people in AOL chat rooms. Before too long, some web pages were created and hosted on AOL's server. JCSM began a subscription mailing list and kept in touch with those that sought Gastrich's help. He began writing and emailing them a devotional message (today, there are well over 400 of them online). Later, JCSM began recording and broadcasting a weekly audio devotional message, too.

In subsequent years, JCSM left AOL and began hosting its own web pages under the jcsm.org domain name. The site grew and the web pages were configured and developed as technology increased. Today, JCSM offers over 160,000 web pages (e.g. Bible lessons, devotionals, literature, poetry, humor, etc.), hundreds of mp3 files (e.g. music, debates, sermons, the Bible on MP3, etc.), and over 500 pictures from Israel.

  • JCSM offers free email accounts through their Believe and Repent domain name. They encourage people to evangelize with it and use it for God's glory.
  • JCSM supports children in Kenya through Compassion International and encourages others to adopt children through Compassion as well. They have been doing so for some time as they realize that Africa needs our support.
  • JCSM offers over 400 devotional messages, tens of thousands of wise quotations, and a very large Study Center with all kinds of literature (biblical and non-bibical).
  • JCSM published The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained - A full rebuttal to an atheist Bible commentary called The Skeptic's Annotated Bible. Offered on CD-ROM, this resource is bundled with a KJV Bible, a Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionary and Concordance, Easton's Bible Dictionary, etc. The SABCE is currently in its 4th edition.
  • JCSM published The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: The Collegiate Workbook - This workbook is bound and in paper format. It accompanies the CD-ROM and it has 300 questions and answers about alleged, Bible errors.
  • JCSM published Maximizing the Internet: 12 Keys to Success - This e-book articulates the ways Jason Gastrich brought JCSM from nothing to over 160,000 web pages, thousands of daily visitors, and thousands of email subscribers.
  • JCSM began in San Diego, California. However, in 2005, they moved to Pasadena, California.
