It was introduced during the reign of king Kazimierz III the Great in 1367, and was based on the Bohemian Prague grosh coin.
It's sides had the following text: KAZIMIRVS PRIMUS DEI GRATIA REX POLONIE and GROSSI CRACOVIENSSES
